Brilliant as usual Pinac....we visited the cemetery last year during one of our walks to go and see the grave of Joe Longthorne the singer... i know we took some pics of some of the more interesting headstones so i ll have to go and check through them ..when ever we do visit cemeteries on our walks we often photograph the beautiful headstones...anyway this tragic story and also one of great compassion and true love was very well delivered ... well done ,mate respect and regards Frank & Lee....Lancashire walks......

Great story, l do remember my first time in Blackpool with my Granny, first time leaving Scotland was an adventure on it's own, but seeing the Blackpool illuminations l was awestruck, It was a magical place as a kid. And any time any one went to Blackpool, everyone would ask them to bring back a stock o rock. I liked the soft rock myself. So glad l found this channel, keep them coming. 🌞

Have only just discovered this channel. It's fantastic! I grew up in Blackpool; it always seemed like Scotland's third city to me, and Glaswegian was our second language. We lived about five minutes from Layton Cemetery. I've never heard of this story before, and you did a magic job of it. Edward's courage was second to none, as was his fiancée's dedication to him. Speaking of courage, another Layton grave belongs to Superintendent Gerald Richardson who, and I might be wrong , was the most senior British police officer to be murdered in the line of duty: he was shot dead while attending an armed robbery in The Strand (less than 100 metres from Blackpool Town Hall) in 1971, I think. He was awarded a posthumous George Cross, and the hunt for Frederick Joseph Sewell, his killer, was only second to that for the Yorkshire Ripper, if shorter. I hope you come back and do more videos (the one on the Freckleton disaster was superb and heartwrenching at the same time). Hope you're doing well. Wishing you success and God bless 🙏!
A late response to your recent video due to internet and device problems. However, worth waiting for. The introduction was very good. I wasn't aware of the carts for the women to change into their bathing/paddling gear. Very interesting and to see the photographs. Poor brave Edward, may be never be forgotten. John was kind to look after Helen and very thoughtful. The graveyard seems to be well looked after. Also I never knew it was a Burnley miner who found out how to put letters into the confectionery. So that was some great research. I'm the 1950's we would sometimes go to Blackpool on the train or bus during Wakes week. Each milling town had a different week so that the mills kept running. Blackburn always seemed to get the better weather. But we loved it. I also remember playing with a Scottish girl on the beach. Think the Scots had a holiday week the same week as Burnley. Anyway I thank you once more for your research and delivery of the information. Happy days and memories of Blackpool.

Excuse me the Rock idea may have been conceived in Burnley But it was made in Dewsbury West Yorkshire a thriving Woollen Mill town with other trades in the Town at that time good channel been following you for quite some time now but sometimes your facts are not accurately reported
