what a character!!! love the way he gets revved up and the chalk flies everywhere!! man i cant even imagine what it would feel like on your body to lift over 400kg...
@AwryToast Ammonia. It's a small ampoule filled with ammonia and wrapped in paper, you crush it between your fingers and inhale in through your nose. It get you jacked up before you lift heavy weights. Powerlifters do it all the time.
if people dont realize, to pump yourself up like that, puts out adrenaline in your body, and when you have those adrenalines pumping out, you lifting perhaps over what you can do normaly. He is so strong i cant believe , i really enjoy this, he is pumping himself up to not drop this weight, he is so commited!
well hes the best deadlifter on the planet earth..so i think he earns himself the right..and also he does that not to show off but to physch himself up..to each his own
His name escapes me but does anyone remember that bodybuilder who entered WSM in the early 90's? he got blown away from the first whistle and had the stamina of a lazy Sloth.
I love this guy, because he is the proof : you don't need to be a midget to be good at the deadlift. man, this machine is 190 cm high and is the strongest on the planet !!
I admire strongfats' superhuman strengths, but I sure as hell hope that I never end up looking like that (I probably don't even have the perseverance to get anywhere close to that regardless).
It's a shame these guys don't get the same world wide recognition as other athletes, maybe it's because of the drug use etc. But fuck that, who the hell is gonna be impressed by some skinny natural guy who will probably deadlift 200kg at most? Drugs take this sport to a new level and actually makes it exciting to watch.
Well now let's take a look at the scenery. Benedict is very strong and never uses straps. Bolton uses straps sometimes to train the back and forget the grip until later in training. Bolton is the ONLY man to pull 1000 pounds. Who's the better deadlifter?
@thisismyytname Yeah thats not recognized as a world record outside of the arnold classic. I think the 974 is much much more impressive, especially when you see the video of the 1100. The 1100 is essentially a knee height rack pull
@Birdpoofool Powerlifting is more about brute force. Yes, the deadlift is a technical lift compared to a bicep curl, but pales in comparison to a snatch/CnJ. So yeah, they can psych up all the way without worrying about channeling the energy the wrong way, unlike oly lifts.
Saw in a documentary that Russian olympic athletes respect the bar/weights as in they wouldn't even step/walk over it. Guess he means it as a offence like that.
@Birdpoofool its pure psyching up. olympic lifters might not do the full dance like magnus does here, but they do the same, you always see the trainers slap them and shout at them to get the peak adrenaline and focus up. Ever seen Coleman lift, hes shouting all over the place to get pumped
11 years after the video is still in my top 3 badass video of all time
I think his last try was 426kg. 12 years ago, that was incredible strong. Now there are many people who can lift that number. Crazy
@@yanniblumstein1 No straps aswell. Impressive.
th-cam.com/video/faDLZOLIa6s/w-d-xo.html Try out this one from Larry :D
Casual. 426 raw are still a lot no straps, and benni is still the goat at raw deadlift no straps with 461 WR, go somewhere else.
I remember when this dropped in 2005, all powerlifters was like?! I remember when it said 390kg WARMUP, had to read it 5 times or so, wtf.
When Bruce Banner gets angry, he becomes The Hulk.
When The Hulk gets angry, he becomes Benedikt Magnusson
This is the most epic deadlift video of all time
I love how he gets all really excited, yet still makes sure that he lifts it safely... that's great, man...
he know's he's fucked if he lifts that kinda weight with bad form
And he placed it down like you would a coffee mug, he could have been the first raw 500kg deadlift
That approach.
Yes the best approach ever ..... Just love it 👍
lmao...i love how he knocks the chalk over
This is so scary. Imagine that beast charging at you with that primal rage.
What an amazing video that still attracts viewers to this day
Both you and Beni are legends
i love how he turns into the hulk after the sniff
I was still in school when this video came out wow. 14 years back. Insane
this guy is one of my fav, totally insane
Awesome!
Wow 15 year comment, and then you found it again yourself, that IS awesome!
@@azuki1982 Hell yeahh
I like this guy, eh lifts many hard weights and doesnt afraid of anything
what a absolute machine. Benedikt is a legend
His warmup deadlift is within a 50kg of my total. Sad.
you are very weak
I'm taking it your totals way over 1000?
Pesho konqt Love it when cyber guys comment on stuff like this. Put your video bra??????
@matt long Don't feel sad man. Enjoy your lifts at your pace and keep crushing your PRs.
I think he's faster than Usain Bolt from his warm up to rod.
This and the Scott Mendelson 715 raw deadlift vids are the best powerlifting ones on YT.
0:17 is he zapping the bar with a magic spell? lol
great clip. they are both strong guys but in very different sports. lots of respect to both.
i absolutely love the way he gets psyched up for the lifts lmao its fantastic
lmfao this guy is so fun to watch. The way he phycs himself out before the left. Is he smelling hand chalk? or ammonia
ammonia
CommonSon he's inhaling the unholy demonic ashes of a thousand ritually burned baby corpses
I love Benny, his approach makes me laugh, even knocked over the chalk stand,a very genuine guy .
The real deadlift king
Even though this vid is ancient and benni has since smashed this pull its still by far the most entertaining DL vid in the world!!
what a character!!! love the way he gets revved up and the chalk flies everywhere!!
man i cant even imagine what it would feel like on your body to lift over 400kg...
The GOAT
@AwryToast
Ammonia. It's a small ampoule filled with ammonia and wrapped in paper, you crush it between your fingers and inhale in through your nose. It get you jacked up before you lift heavy weights. Powerlifters do it all the time.
Best deadlifter ever plus I like he looks like he about to kick that weight through a goal post
Best deadlifter of all time
incredible speed on that 390
Footage of the 1977 World Powerlifting Chapionships is pretty awesome.
I like his little pump up ritual, before he does the lift.
if people dont realize, to pump yourself up like that, puts out adrenaline in your body, and when you have those adrenalines pumping out, you lifting perhaps over what you can do normaly. He is so strong i cant believe , i really enjoy this, he is pumping himself up to not drop this weight, he is so commited!
I can't stop watching this video!!!!!! Benni is THE MAN!
Channeling the power of grayskull 0:39
he's the best dead lifter in the world by far and yes this is the best lifting video on the internet...by far
what the name of the song used in this video ??
awsome Performance
Why would one exclude the other?
I can only dream to be this cool
well hes the best deadlifter on the planet earth..so i think he earns himself the right..and also he does that not to show off but to physch himself up..to each his own
thsi is so amaizing. he acts like a viking warrior just before a fight
god, he is so terrifying when he's getting psyched.
Gotta love that guy in the back at 0:46 screaming and jumping!
Never heard of this before. What country are you from?
That man can jump. Holy crap .
Just fucking brilliant!!
@MrCarlWeber Thank you, finally someone that understands.
PS, Benni just recently set a new world record raw deadlift of 974 lbs.
mag has such a playful personality..amazing that he can jump at his size
@illirond people always forget to mention that ronnie was cutting weight at the time of that lift. that wasn't him at his strongest.
His name escapes me but does anyone remember that bodybuilder who entered WSM in the early 90's? he got blown away from the first whistle and had the stamina of a lazy Sloth.
I will never shake that mans hand... Dat grip!
@AmusingYeti agreed. the most annoying thing to me is, that people keep comparing bodybuilders with powerlifter
I love this guy, because he is the proof : you don't need to be a midget to be good at the deadlift. man, this machine is 190 cm high and is the strongest on the planet !!
he's actually 183cm
That's the fastest 390kg lift I've ever seen
Even by modern standards that's crazy, it went so fast
Anyone know what music is playing in the background?!
Wish I had his form, thumbs up.
Greatest deadlifted ever no straps bs
whats the song name =p
0:32 is awesome
Re. the plateful of cocaine he knocked over. Is it legal to snort that stuff before a lift?
what song is this?
@ilovetrash91 No he pulled an ammonia capsule out from behind his ear, he popped it then inhaled the scent.
Eddie is a beast. But when it comes to Benni. He is the real one.
What is the name of the music ?
Thanks
Voodoo people
I admire strongfats' superhuman strengths, but I sure as hell hope that I never end up looking like that (I probably don't even have the perseverance to get anywhere close to that regardless).
Lol, this guy is the definition of intensity.
he should have played the juggernaut
Well, in most gyms, the coke is sold in the men's toilets. Other pharmaceuticals as well.
21 and this guys is a fuckin tank? shit... i wanna train with this beast man.
@snozzcumbers stan efferding is strong as hell. his totals actually higher than kks
There's no point to being strong. It's an end in itself. Pumping iron is its own reward.
I watch this clip over and over
he is so funny
the song is called??? :o
thanks in advance. :D
prodigy - Voodoo People (Pendulum Mix)
super quick answer
that looks like so much fun
I'm going to make it a ritual to watch this on deadlift day.
It's a shame these guys don't get the same world wide recognition as other athletes, maybe it's because of the drug use etc. But fuck that, who the hell is gonna be impressed by some skinny natural guy who will probably deadlift 200kg at most? Michael Watson all the other athletes use drugs too.
Michael Watson There are definiterly naturals that can deadlift alot more than 200kg, a close friend of myne pulls 260kg
Luca van Antwerpen Lifting 260kg while natural is definitely really strong, but it's not even close to the 400+ kg these guys can pull.
stickman i don't promote usage of PED's but i definitely find it more interesting what the human body can do when enhanced
+Michael Watson Tom Martin, at the weight of 93 kgs can pull 360 (800 pounds for those americans), natural.
any1 has the song name?
Well now let's take a look at the scenery. Benedict is very strong and never uses straps. Bolton uses straps sometimes to train the back and forget the grip until later in training. Bolton is the ONLY man to pull 1000 pounds. Who's the better deadlifter?
SONG?
@lbz91 Ronnie was a couple weeks out from the olympia.
@beefmelon wow, varsity huh? You got some real credentials there. I must say, I'm almost impressed.
@thisismyytname Yeah thats not recognized as a world record outside of the arnold classic. I think the 974 is much much more impressive, especially when you see the video of the 1100. The 1100 is essentially a knee height rack pull
lol spilled the chalk, he'd get in trouble in prison, but then he'd get vengeance.
best DLer ever
@Gohanseta he did start off training like a powerlifter though
When he knocks over the chalk-station... classy mistake.
@SR4LosersIsMYBITCH Song is by Prodigy - voodoo people
had a little giggle at 'warmup - 390kg'
That was the world record.
@GuitarSlinger151 and what's your last name?
Thanks for the reply :D
@Birdpoofool

lol, the way he "rages" after sniffing that thing is epic
Banana and a cloud LOL that cracked me up
Saw in a documentary that Russian olympic athletes respect the bar/weights as in they wouldn't even step/walk over it. Guess he means it as a offence like that.
Beast !
you know your strong when your warm up weight is what other power lifters cant even max out at.
@Birdpoofool its pure psyching up.
olympic lifters might not do the full dance like magnus does here, but they do the same, you always see the trainers slap them and shout at them to get the peak adrenaline and focus up.

what a beast...
Pretty respectable vertical at 0:57...!
Great comment!
