Nah the prices where good. The only shoes that where ridiculous where the colabs but even then the Jordan 4 off whites can go for 1800-2000. So even tho the collab prices are high they’re still super fair based on the market.
The Wire was one of the greatest shows ever. I'm an economist, so my favorite scene of the entire series was when the cop followed Stringer Bell to see what he was up to in the afternoons, and it turns out he was in an Economics class (to help him run his drug business).
@@mli3083 he also wanted to transition from the drug trade to a legit life. So the class wasn't only for the drug trade, but rather to be prepared for the corporate world.
It's so amazing how much better an episode is when the guest can, actually, articulate and be engaging. Stop bringing in these goofy teenaged rappers and social media personalities.
I’ll wait with 🍿 for the idiots to struggle and try to can your comment as racist since Elba has never been anything but unapologetically badass and Black 👌🏻
That intro was legendary! Excellent episode, it was so cool hearing his perspective comparing the sneaker culture in London and NYC when he moved to the states.
Brits used to wear sneakers as function rather than fashion. The popularity of Basketball is a real driver for the shoe game in the US. Whereas that cultural impact did not really exist in the UK. You would have always seen more Air Max/Force and Adidas back in the day, but the game has changed now. Jordans are everywhere, mate!
Can yall believe I haven't seen the Wire?? Definitely about to binge-watch now! Love Idris! Phenomenal actor, and an even better human, and him and his wife are the perfect Ying and Yang. This episode was cool and relaxed, and it was just like Joe catching up with a good friend, with nothing but good vibes...Idris got some dope kicks too.
Idris is really cool, awesome episode, it is much better when the guest is not bound by a contract and can only purchase from 1 brand. Allows you to see all they like and get to know their taste in sneakers a bit more 👌🏻🔥🔥🔥
Such a genuine, humble, down to Earth Guy. I had the pleasure of working with Idris on the new Luther (FILM) which should be out in late 2022 or 2023. We were filming and one the extras sprained their ankle. He halted the shooting, called the paramedics and checked to see if he was ok.

Best selection from a guest so far. He hit heat from all angles. Im hype i have similar taste between ones an SBs. And shot out to Clot I got the low 5s an they did an amazing job
Such a cool dude!!! One of your best episodes to date JLP!! I hate he put back the Jordan 1 low mocha’s but I understand the switch for the Travis’s. Super slept on shoe though! Got 3 pair myself!
Idris is fantastic. Some great moments with Joe. The New Balances quip had me in stitches. But when the bill came, Idris got that dry mouth in a nanosecond.
It’s rare I watch this show and actually like every shoe the person bought but Idris has the swag. Every shoe is fuego fuego fuego 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 great choices King
Baltimore is a huge part of sneaker history. They are why we could get forces in Philly and NYC when forces were first being sold in stores back in the day. One of their sneaker stores is how we ended up with all the colorways. The store owners did such a good job getting the sneaks out to the folks, Nike started making more colorways. yo google what im saying if history is your vibe and you havent heard this yet, cuz the story is mad interesting
Can't lie, I fully forgot he was mainly known over there from The Wire 😅 the crep trends in the UK now are so synonymous with USA that purchases are indistinguishable between the genpops. Feel like the culture's been slipping away too much in recent years 😅
💯 I’m from London, Londoners coming on USA shows talking about AJ1s. Jordan’s weren’t it in London until recently. We grew up with TN, Air max and reebok classics. Even hush puppies were it
Who’s your favorite character from The Wire?
Omar 😤
We need Anthony Anderson on here next
Stringer Bell all day! Omar second!

Idris really has a cool vibe and down to earth demeanor. Balled out and got some nice kicks along with good stories 👍🏾
He makes good money.

Anyone who's studied macroeconomics in college knows that it would have no practical application in a street-level drug trade.
My top 5 shows of all time
The wire is the best show series ever made. Hbo is king of the series
@@mli3083 he also wanted to transition from the drug trade to a legit life. So the class wasn't only for the drug trade, but rather to be prepared for the corporate world.
That class is where he learned about changing the name of the business or the product. Dope show.
Idris purchased one on the best selections I've seen on this show! What a legend 🙏🏾
Also slept on selection, dope
Idris seems like a real cool dude. Dope episode
When idris heard "$18000" his composed reaction deserves an Oscar nomination because you know on the inside, he died a little.

Blew my mind with the total at the end, not that its unattainable just was expecting him to cop a 3/4 pair and bounce. My guy went for tha heat!

Idris is the most humble and down to earth person I have ever seen on here and that's straight facts.
I love how he was walking around with the clipboard like he was stringer bell."get the word out there, we back up!". The Wire vibes!!
One of the better episodes. Great banter, fire pickups, appreciation for the sneaker game. Well done Joe and Idris!
I love Idris Elba I love his Luther shows

Idris is always a must see and this was no difference.
His heart skipped a beat when he was told the total amount LOL

Honestly though, i dont think it matters how much money you have, $18k for sneakers is a lot.
7:06 Jordan slides with the toes crawling out the front at a Jordan show is Crazy! 😂
*It’s “Nyasty”
He's mad for that one😂
One of the best episodes, Idris is a real down to earth dude!
Joe dropped the “it’s all in the details” line in there. Incredible callback to The Wire
I just finished rewatching the entire series of The Wire and it was better than I remembered. Idris Elba will always be loved here in Baltimore.
Have you watched Luther? He’s great in that too
True dat!
Great episode not only did he tell some good stories but he also pick up some heat
