I play floor hockey in Special Olympics last year my team won a gold medal floor hockey or any type of hockey is very hard but it's one of my favorite sports alongside professional wrestling
Great video as always ninh! Little sidenote I was stoked when ireland reached the hockey world cup final. No one expected that. Probably the greatest moment in irish sport (yes better than Italia 90)
Highly appreciated for using women's games for most parts of this video. I did enjoy a lot. Once again you have impressed me with another new video. By the way, I had terrible swing on the field back in the days of playing hockey. I was a good pusher though. I think I could play better had indoor hockey been available to me back then.
This is cool. I always thought that indoor hockey is just hockey with rollerblades and a ball. That what my friends always said is indoor hockey when the drinks don't have ice on them in the summer.
The fact that you can only use one side of the stick in field hockey never ceases to amaze me. Typing this comment on a different browser because my other one isn't loading the bloody comments!
So there are four variations of hockey, right ? Grass, indoor, in rollers and ice hockey. My country is at the top of female outdoor hockey, the team known as Las Leonas. Luciana Aymar is considered the Messi of hockey
I was a terrible field hockey player but when it came to indoor, I was, well, a bit less terrible. Although I wasn't sure if you were gonna show that it was also a men's sport, thanks for the few seconds at the end haha
I'd get the same unimaginative response from North Americans ... "it's not called ice hockey, it's just called hockey" .... duuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Awesome another hockey video I wonder why you can’t use both sides of the stick, I don’t get it... Why cant a field/indoor hockey stick be double sided? Awesome video ninh :)
didn't know they had an indoor version of field hockey, it sounds and looks very interesting. which comes to mind has there been an interest to cover the rules and variations of paintball?
Goalie here (both indoor and outdoor). We have a stick in both. While we're allowed to use any part of our body to stop the ball, we're also only allowed to use the flat side of the stick. There are different shapes for goalie sticks, but nowadays most goalies play with the same shapes as infielders. Goalie sticks are still different in weight, balance, strength and bow, but you usually won't be able to really tell visually. I use the same stick indoor and outdoor. Infielders use lighter and thinner sticks indoors. Internationally, goalies also have to use thinner sticks indoors.
@@tfn212 both variant (10's and 7's) of rugby union are same. the different are just the numbers of players and time play. 7 players in 7's and 10 players in 10's. 7 minutes per halves in 7's and 10 minutes per halves in 10's. I'm play rugby union amateur at my state. I has experiences on both 7's and 10's too (both of this variant are play when it is off season of standard rugby union).
So interesting, seems like futsal but there is hockey, or milder version of ice hockey but with field hockey equipment and there is no ice BTW, I think people who disliked this video are ice hockey hooligans who think this game is very bland and weak compared than ice hockey, but this is my opinion

@@NinhLyUK 2 big differences. 1. It's on a smaller pitch so it's easier to see (same as the difference between ice hockey and bandy). 2. The blue pitch is not such a strong blue. It is noticeably paler. I can't watch field hockey; I find the blue pitches repulsive.
Why does the rule of only dribbling with one side of the stick exist??? Or only being able to tackle with one person? It’s no surprise these sports never reach mainstream adoption with such convoluted rules.
Just like a cricket bat - only one side is meant for hitting the ball. It's just a different skill set. And it would really slow the game down if more than one person could tackle at once.
They use the same stick and play on the same side as right handed players. When dribbling most of the turning motion actually comes from the left hand so there is no disadvantage.
Would be more exciting if you could hit or flick the ball from anywhere and didn't just have to play on the ground. Just put up plexiglass like the NHL.
Ninh Ly dude like look on google or something so it’s basically a sport with horses and basically you have to catch like a cow with a rope or lassoe whatever you wanna call it

Floorball is not hockey.
i like floorball much
Oh how long I've waited for another variation of hockey rules on this channel
You got it.
Thank you I’ve been watching this lately, and I had no idea what was going on
Glad I could help
My favorite sport. Thanks Ninh.
Any time!
Finally one of the few sports which was missing on your channel! Great video!
Few ???
There are still hundreds of sports he hasn't covered yet (some of them actually beeing quite famous around the world)!
I'm getting there!

both field hockey and this are awesome sports
Yes, agreed
Thanks so much this helps me to understand the game SO much more!
Indoor Cricket next please!
I'll consider it.

So basically, mini field hockey. Pretty cool concept.
Indoor cricket might also be an interesting idea🙂. Anyway great video ninh!

Can you do a video on broomball?
I'll consider it.
This is cool. I always thought that indoor hockey is just hockey with rollerblades and a ball. That what my friends always said is indoor hockey when the drinks don't have ice on them in the summer.
I think that describes inline hockey.

It's traditionally how hockey sticks were designed ... the heavier side adds power to your hits.
In Sweden they are crazy about floorball. But this seems to be much more fun.
Its the futsal version of field hockey
So there are four variations of hockey, right ? Grass, indoor, in rollers and ice hockey. My country is at the top of female outdoor hockey, the team known as Las Leonas. Luciana Aymar is considered the Messi of hockey

Hey, so, did you manage to find a way to put the Beckham 7 patch on your Man Utd shirt from last year?
I just bought a convincing fake jersey with the numbers already on for the same price as United were going to print the letters.
Seems kinda silly.

I think most sports I've shown are implied to be unisex.
Something tells me you’re gonna have to do a “what is hockey” video kinda like what you did with your “what is football” video... I’m just saying!!
Ireland: We have a real 'hockey' (mentioned *hurling*)

Just football with sticks
Please make a video on trap and skeet

Is normal corner taken only if goalkeeper pushes the ball behind the goal?
Thanks
Awesome another hockey video

That's traditionally how hockey sticks work - the weighted side adds power to a strike.
oh I guess that makes sense

Penalty strokes are taken from the penalty spot. The part of the video showed a running penalty
Read the top comment.
What is the point of rounded side of the stick?
My back hurts from watching
Mine too.
You bend for legs not your back😒
Looks like the goalie has a stick. If I remember correctly, in outdoor hockey, the goalie doesn’t have one. Is this right?
No, the goalies in both versions have sticks, albeit shorter crozier-shaped sticks.
In Bandy and Floorball - goalies don't have sticks

Hey Ninh can you explain the rules of 10s rugby?
There’s just a little different between 7's and 10's. No need to explain about 10's!
@@mr.hakimi07 Is the difference only number of players of each team?

Hey Ninh is the olympic canceled?
Yes, postponed until next year.

I've never seen this sport before but my first impression is that it looks like a better spectator sport than field hockey.
