Cut the legs separate with a square of plastic near the top. Find a balance point , drill holes thru bird and leg add bolt and washers and a cheap bearing and bird will turn inyo the wind. Or a bolt with washer on top n bottom but a large hole and it will move and Bob up n down

The way you marked out the first one head to the left could you turn the template around and mark out another on the underside of the pipe with the head facing the right hand side?? Getting pipe tomorrow. Great work.

I’m having issues with the spray paint. Did you use primer before you spray paint. The paint seems to (blisters) is as best I can describe. I’m not very patient when it comes to painting. Maybe it’s me. I just don’t know. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

My first attempt was on a 36" version and cutting feather details was very crude. Worse, I cut off a leg. I think the sequence of cutting is important so that detail work is done while most of body is still in tack. Yes?
So far as your PVC did you use 4" thin wall or thick wall or in PVC Schedule 20 or 40 or in water terms is it water pressure thick or sewage gauge thin? Jim

I just used a water based hobby paint. It will fade with time. The yellow fades the quickest. Every few years a clean up them up. Thanks for the question.
You sure can. I have made about five per 10' segment. You just have to be careful about the placement. Be sure to watch those fingers when using the saw. Have fun.
