The Paula 8 bit sound chip with sampling capabilites and - for this era - early to mid 90s - 'HiFi'-sampling/playback sound, it was amazing times! And these amazing producers was also way ahead, because many of the top tracks from that era is still completely amazing today. I think that the limitations forced two important things: Creativity to overcome the limits, but also limits to over-producing with efx and mastering (totally unknown concepts for me, et al, at this time). / SLC
Making music for games is different, especially on an Amiga. Samples can't be too big as there is other stuff to fit in memory, and usually you need to keep one Channel free if you want sound effects, so you are limited to three.Channels for music, which isn't a lot compared to other systems of the time. The Amiga needed 8 Channels to be workable that way. Also, niche genres like this don't go down too well in games as they have to appeal to a wide audience. It's why you don't hear a lot of games with Death metal soundtracks, and also part of the reason why Streets of Rage 3 wasn't very popular at the time, as it's more hard techno score put a lot of people off who just weren't into that style of music compared to the easy listening house tunes of the previous games.
+SerBallister probarbly by todays standards. all i remember was the amiga being the first computer that didnt sound like one. no bleeps. although i still love chip music. Sid music especially.
If you search my channel, you will find some more of Hoffmans tunes in my uploads :) Check all the Jungle / Drum & Bass Compilations (there are 8 videos), also check the Random / Mixed Compilations (there are 10 videos) :)) Pretty sure there's another 12 Hoffman tunes in amongst those videos. Plus a couple of single uploads, search Hoffman - Drop the Panic and Pattern Skank, a vocal mix of Pattern Skank is in Random Compilation #8. If you like these, you will probably like Esau Compilation #1
1983 to 1993? Hahahaha. So dubstep is nothing new, hear the bass at min 13:15. Great videos, I love electronic music and I am an old Amiga 500 user, you have great videos! :)
Just because the instrument has been around since 1980's doesn't mean music is old. Its like saying rock is from the 1910s when the electric guitar was invented. I too grew up with C64, Amiga 500, 600 1200 and loved all the chiptunes growing up. and now EDM.. :)
They should be as they're released in the public domain, I would credit the Composer though either as Hoffman or Ian ford. EDIT- when you say games, do you mean your own designed games or youtube videos of games, if own games then I would ask for permission. 22 of my videos have copyright claims against them and the only Amiga musicians that have claimed so far are: Moby, Sidewinder, Vesuri and Dj Nick.

The funny part is I have heard chart tunes these days with serious rips from these old mod types ..
@@sethrd999 ahem.. timbaland.. *cough*
Wow, outstanding stuff for 4 tracks, this guy should be making videogame music if he isn't already.
he makes a lot of music in several demoscene crews.. total legend.

@@nebularain3338 H0ffman certainly isn't an Amiga exclusive music producer btw.. if you didn't know that already :)
He has done some games including a Metal Gear port and recently Cecconoid for the Amiga (I also bought it on the PC and Phone).
@@daishi5571 Cool, will have to check those out. Even after 8 years this is still a banger of a compilation huh! :D
Paula really was something. Way ahead of its time.
+Trydowave Zod Surprisingly simple was Paula, it was the tracker software that made it interesting..
+SerBallister probarbly by todays standards. all i remember was the amiga being the first computer that didnt sound like one. no bleeps. although i still love chip music. Sid music especially.
Trydowave Zod True, my 12 year old mind was blown when I first heard an Amiga, coming from 8bit machines..
multichannel PCM in the 80s would have been very impressive!
Really nice. I've been listening to a lot of amiga/tracker stuff the past couple of days, this is some of the better stuff I heard :)

This guy also did the music to Speris Legacy and Minskies Furrballs. Great to see newer stuff by him. Love the samples from Predator! :D
Very very glad that it happened! This is fire!!!
08:11 Ghost in the Shell docet... LOVE IT!
Song 1 The Predator, the intro anyway
very good stuff here! love The Hunter and Ghost In The CLI.
some good clean samples in there!
nice tracks, expecially for the GITS remix
Damn GOOD beats holy smoly, liked the ghost in the shell sample =)
Superb. 7.1 suround head phones does it justice.
Fantastic work.
he's one of the greatest digital artists - gimme baZZZZZZ
Excellent music. Respect.
Filthy yes 👏🏾
Just awesome! Beautiful!
It's a great Inspiration, such skillfullness. Did you read any books about this type of Synthesizer Art?
Sampler art. No synthesis is happening here, just resampling samples from a memory bank.
This should be what they put on the Voyager space craft for first contact with alien races to represent humans
Just watched Predator and some of the soundtrack was definitely familiar.
Thank you for the music.
Never heard amiga dubstep!! Ghost in the CLI is S I C K!!!!
I love the last one.
어우야 첫곡부터 팍 꽂힌다야
AWESOME! Is there somewhere I can download MODs to load into Protracker on WINUAE?

These are fairly new tunes if I am correct

+Daniel de la Concha actually this bass line goes directly from sampled Roland TB 303 which is 1982 year product :)
Daniel de la Concha That is not really dubstep, it is more like D&B or psytrance
most these tunes are around 2010-2012
Could I have download links to these modules?
Hi there buddy, here's a link to many of his modules
amp.dascene.net/detail.php?detail=modules&view=3357
I built protracker c++ with hardware accel on Linux, this would sound amazing on there.. where are the mods'?
You'll find them (or most at least) on amp.dascene.net (search for Hoffman or Ian Ford)
Record a bunch and pur them up! :)
How do you build a protracker? That seems like it would be very difficult
bang !
Are these tracks royalty free? Can you use them in videos, games etc without having to worry about copyright?
They should be as they're released in the public domain, I would credit the Composer though either as Hoffman or Ian ford.
