In the movie she revisited the exact house and tile of her grandfather. I'm wondering whether that is possible except as a generalization. Often Israel razes the past to the ground and completely rebuilds it so former owners can't walk in and recognize their house and tile. Jaffa looks newly rebuilt and an example of that, idk, but the concept of living there in a home on that spot is sound. Without a map or prior experience, though, it would be difficult to pinpoint the exact location precisely because of that. There's an interesting old US film I saw in Israel about the master plan of Israel to do exactly that, configure it so there is no possibility the next generation could make a claim for Israeli held property. This is what it is thought the constant war is all about: erasure. They're buying time. But as time goes on, even the Occupied Territories are being subsumed into Israel. Good movie! I was hoping they'd keep up the whole Enrique the boyfriend facade until they were both deported to North America (and he'd finally get out to school in a twisted "happy" ending where they'd be laughing on the plane).
Question, do you know how much of the west bank is left for us to "build a state"? I'll let you do a Google search, then see if you're going to come back and utter complete nonsense as if the issue is that WE don't want peace. That is not to say I support the two state solution, but even THAT isn't an option for us.
