    _Shakariki mosh!_ 🦊🤘👯
Welcome back to BabyMetal Galaxy, I'm impressed this reaction didn't took so long, nice.
They become very good friends with Sabaton during live tour and they were the support band, later Joakim was a special guest during "Meta Taro" live at Dark Night Carnival 2018, during an interview Joakim revealed a possible new collaboration with BM, those words and wishes were real with the Sabaton's Europe Tour 2023 as a special guests, many fans were expecting this could be one of the songs performing together, but sadly that didn't happen.
Oh MAJINAI is a folk metal song, following the spirit of Meta Taro, is part of their 3rd album Metal Galaxy and following that theme going around the world and gathering metal and rhythms from all over the galaxy, they're telling us a story about a metal paradise where you can't get in with an adult mindset or else you'll be curse with the spell dancing the "shakariki mosh", that cossack dance style you saw them dancing.
This is a good reason for kitsune buddies to hug each other while dancing and drinking a beer 🍻
This is a live compilation from Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 and Budokan 2021. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the third backup dancer (avenger) and the East Kami Band once again as well in all of these shows at Budokan 2021.
Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥

You hit every nail on the head for this one. It's a good song but it's almost to repetitive. But every once in a while it's nice when it shows up in my BabyMetal shuffle. Fair/honest review as always.

Played live it is so much fun my feet were killing me after we all were bouncing up and down and my feet got stood on more than once .
At the Russian show in 2020 tour . A massive circle pit appeared and and they loved it . If this is played in a show now and then, it would go down great 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼

The performance with the Russian fans was the most enjoyable one of this song for me. It was a real joy to watch them having fun.

One of the cool things they did on the Metal Galaxy album was to do several songs in different cultural styles as a tribute to many of the countries that had supported them through the years. This one was a tribute to Irish culture and dance (which makes it interesting that they got a Swedish guy rather than an Irishman to guest on the song, but they are friends with Sabaton, so it is understandable).

Fun reaction to a Fun song! Obviously not an epic banger, but just a fun silly song that always makes me think of an old sea shanty (and including Joakim adds to that feel I think). Definitely not a staple but they do trot it out from time to time.
As for concert staples, I recall this live Deep Purple CD I had in the late 80s, the final track opened with Ian Gillan telling the crowd "It may seem like a devilish ploy, but it's one way to bring the proceedings to an end..."

    Good job, David. Thanks!
Not among my top favorites but I appreciate the catchiness and it's one of Su-metal's favorite songs... so, I can't say anything bad about it, haha... just let me say...
Nai, nana, nai, nai, nai, nai, nai, nana, nai, nai, nai, nana, nai, nai, nai
Nai, nana, nai, nai, nai, nai, nai, nana, nai, nai, nai, nana, nai, nai, nai
    ...
Now it's again in your head. 😁

In my personal opinion, this is their „worst“ song (not counting the collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert). I find pirate Metal a little cringe to begin with, and it‘s quite repetitive. That said, the silly scenes with Joakim on the big screen the and the girls‘ dance still make it very entertaining in a live setting. As usual, it has a very positive and uplifting atmosphere.

thats exactly how i feel for alot of these kinda songs like this one elevator girl shanti shanti future metal etc alot of em are good for like 2 setlists and then let it rest for a while

  • @rodhamm8484
    @rodhamm8484 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

I agree that this shouldn't be a song in every concert and that it is perfect for throwing in the setlist every now and then. A fun song, I like it a lot, but this is not one you want to listen to regularly, the repetitive aspect of it would wear thin too fast. 🤘🦊

Joakim was asked about "the BabyMetal thing" in an interview and said that while they were playing opening for BABYMETAL in Japan in 2018 he was having a great time with the band and crew and they said they were doing “something new” and asked him to join. He recorded his part in Osaka, in between the shows. He also says he almost lost his voice, because they were asking for “more power” from him, to the point where he was almost growling.

Great reaction. You are right this is a novelty song. For me, this is one of my favourite songs… particularly because it gets stuck in my head for days.
It’s also the song that made one of my friends from not being a fan to now wanting to go to their shows

Good reaction. On a side note I really like the new scoring system you are using now. I think the old system was akin to a grade inflation thing. I mean nobody is going to recommend a bad song so there was too much temptaion to score everything high. This gives a little more room to vary scores. I think since every song you get recommende is going to be good you could even lower the scale to be a bit more logarthmic so a good song register at around a 6 to give some more room to songs that stand out. That might be too hard to get across though. Anyway good job as usual congratulations on 50k

Apparently it is based on a Finnish polka and no they don't play it often ... but when they have played it live it is really good fun and the circle pits turn into big circles of people dancing round with their arms round each others shoulders ... I can't think of many bands who can do that to a mosh pit. There was a fancam video of the crowd in Russia in 2020 - very funny.😂
Su loves performing this (some of her favourites suggest she loves a bit of folk metal) and they love the choreo - and apparently Moa can dance faster backwards than forwards .... but they are a bit jealous - after putting in all the practice and the efforts they think everybody will be watching Joakim up on the big screens.😁

David: every song should be played live at least a few times
    BBAB enters the chat.
This is a just fun live song. It's a bit to repetitive for the album.
Su-metal is a fan of him and Sabaton, for example she talked about the latest album at the time: "I tend to listen to this album in the mornings, because Joakim's [Brodén, Sabaton singer] powerful vocals encourage me to push forward and achieve something great every day. But listening to it on the train is dangerous because I get into the groove too much and then I tend to miss the stops I'm supposed to get off at!" 🙂
Every show, you'll know: Gimme Choco, Megitsune and probably Road of Resistance or Ijime, Dame, Zettai as closing song. And since they are 3 again, Babymetal Death is back.
    That's how it is now.

Yeah this is one of their fun catchy songs from Metal Galaxy. Some fans don’t like it, but I see it for what it is. I would venture to say that this one has the reputation of being the “Gimme Chocolate” of the Metal Galaxy to a lot of fans. It’s not a staple, but just like GC, I think a lot of fans wouldn’t use this as a first time recommendation. That slow down part is certainly one of those moments where Babymetal reminds us that they are still heavy.

As you say, this song was a funny filler, only played live between 2020-2021, and never again.

This is one of my favourites, I have to say! It's silly and lighthearted, but has very intricate choreo and cultural background. Watching the crowd dance in a circle always makes me laugh! Also helps that it gets stuck in your head! 😌😌

Haha nice one, definitely a funny and hilarious song, gotta be a hell of a time live too! With that said, I agree, it’s a pass for me for daily listen. Great performance though
To your comment about not being used much live, I think Babymetal also agrees. When they were supporting Sabaton’s tour last year, they didn’t play it all, I was hoping they bust it out at least once or twice with Joakim there live. Ah well, no biggie, haha.

So, BM came out with Metal Galaxy. I listened to the first several songs and most were...well, a pass from me. dismissed it for a couple years really. then I started randomly listening to the second set (starting with In The Name Of) and it was just banger after banger imo. this song...is one of the first group (cd1) and in my book, a skip.

    "What' your favourite BM song?
-The one with the cookie monster."
Agreed with you DH. It's a nice song and not one that should be played live often, but I was surprised by the score, even tho Oh Majinai is far from being my favourite, that was just for the meme, it's not a bad song at all, but never thought it would get a 7 in the new system!
One thing I've been saying, Su's voice is amazing as a solo, or in tandem with Moa's and Momo's, and when she sings in lower registers it becomes even better...
But I think that Su's voice complements whichever male voice she sings along with, and in doing so, elevates the quality of the final product to a higher level than that just the summ of the parts.
Her part with Bodylsam vocalist in "leave it all behind" was just so good!

It is a fun song and i enjoy it. It is not a staple song. It hasn't been played much live. There is only one song BM has not played live out their ebtire catalog.

I really enjoy this song for it's mixed tones. BM is know for investing in new genres for their songs and I'm sure this one is a pure example of that. I guess that for this one it's the same the girls said about RATATA that they wanted a song where they could have a good time with the audience. I agree with you that it's a casual song even for me who listen to them. Great review.

Well he was party responsible, they were looking for worldwide historocal dances and he send them this Swedish song and when Moa saw this, she was certain, we have to do this. So this was driven pretty hard by the dance. And together with Joachims voice and the Animation. And it was shown the first time with Joachim in Japan

Some or many fans complain that this song is too repetitious and yeah it may be, but it is a blast live and the circle pits are hilarious and fun during this song. I love the dancing and it's just a FUN song. Love the slow down part as well. Su sounds powerful. Su loves to perform this one. Moa said the dancing hurt her feet :P 🤘🦊🤘
