I just got a husky puppy and today was his vet check, he is 10 weeks old now. I was giving this stuff by my vet and I got home and researched it and found your story. and many others. Thank you for sharing this heart breaking story. I am sorry you had to lose your dog so the rest of us can learn from it. My puppy will not be taking this stuff, I threw it in the trash. Thank you for this.

I am so sad and sorry for what you and your beloved dog went thru, and her brother too. Cried throughout your video but now am just sick to my stomach and terrified because 1 week ago today gave my 8 yr old mixed breed his first dose of Nexgard for this year. He took it monthly last year, only during summer and no problems.
2 mos ago, rescued a part chihuahua who had had mange from such bad flea infection...she needed a 2nd dose I was told...to finish off the mange she had gotten from very bad flea infestation. She has been fine all week and most of her hair has grown back from first dose she was given after she was rescued. But my other baby, my Ozzie, 3 days after the nexgard lost his appetite, was lethargic, not himself and he felt like he had a fever....he was fine in morning of 3rd day but when I got home from work is when he was having the symptoms written earlier. Have had many dogs and it seemed like he had mild bout of gastroenteritis.....Wed morning he didn't want to eat but did eat if hand fed him and had to offer him water or seemed he wasn't drinking.
Work 5 mi. from home and was on phone with animal hospital trying to get an appt. and talk to someone about his symptoms. I can never come home when I work but did that day and he had had a bm with some diarrhea at the end and had vomited his breakfast. On phone with hospital and made appt for that nite at the different office my vet was at. When got home he seemed somewhat better....greeted me at door and went out in yard with him. He had liquidy but small amount of diarrhea. Saved sample. Called hospital and was told if I came it would have to be at other office(farther away) and then if vet wanted ultrasound or xray would have to take him to regular office. Ozzie is not happy going to vets, nervous, since there was just the small amount of diarrhea and no vomiting made the appt for Thurs evening at reg office with reg vet... knowing that if he was any worse or anything different, I just wouldn't go to work Thursday and bring him in as Emergency. So Wednesday evening just took his stool sample...didn't know they would just test for parasites, not for blood or anything else. Thursday morning he seemed same, maybe somewhat better behavior wise but wouldn't eat any breakfast (boiled chicken white meat from nite before). Knew we had appt for between 4:30 and 5P
so when got to work told them I had to leave early to take Ozzie to vet. When got home he seemed alittle better. told vet he still seemed warm to me, didn't eat but no vomiting, no diarrhea, gave him water out of glass, that was only way he was drinking it last couple of days. And 1 unusual thing ,that he had started to bite his left back leg a day or 2 before this all started.
..I had checked it and found nothig. So he got full exam, had fever of 104, 1 point higher than normal, no abdominal swelling, he did not seem to have any pain, did full blood work, gave him shot of an antacid and anti-nausea, got a prescription for flagyl (for intestinal bug), but told not to give till Friday, to let him rest. He would call me with results Friday and to try to see if he would eat chicken , just 1/2cup, no more, and not to worry about the white rice......Ozzie didn't like it anyway.
When they brought him back to me he was jumping up n down and was so happy he was going home. Hand fed him at home, but ate by himself when I put pieces on the blanket. Offered him water, but remembered that I had some syringes so started to give him water via that way every hr to 2 hrs. Was off Friday and started calling for blood work by 11, then 1p, then by 2p, vet was in and said found nothing that unusual BUT,
    that Ozzie's WBC was low=1,700
Vet said normal was 4,000 to about10 to11,000. So, started to goggle and that's when I started to really get scared and worried and found out about your baby, Rowan.
I could not look at the video, was too upset, till this morning, Saturday, exactly 1 week since he had the nexgard.....neither of my dogs will ever get it again. I just hope my baby will be ok. I won't be able to take it . Have so much stress going on right now, among financial stress and divorce stress
and job moving out of area.......just don't know what I will do. My Ozzie is my main man, though I love my new baby too. Vet wants me to call today and repeat blood work. Hoping and praying that flagyl will have taken some of infection load off of him so WBC will have gone up somewhat......if that's what's doing it. I'm just so afraid after learning about all these bad effects from that poison
they tell us to give our beloved dogs. You and Rowan and her brother are in my prayers. Forever.
    With love.

Ive been giving Nexguard to my Yorky Milo for five years now however after seeing your darling Rowan suffer in such a heartbreaking and horrible way, he certainly will not be getting any more doses whatsoever.
My heart felt sympathy and love to your family and her brother and best mate Ash, on the loss of your beautiful Rowan,, such a precious little girl. I’m so deeply sorry for your pain and thank you for quite likely saving my darling Milo from a similar fate.
Rowan’s passing will likely save thousands of adored fur babies and their families from an unimaginable grief.
Sadly, her passing was not in vain.🐶🐶
I’m sorry it took losing your precious girl to save so many others from the pain you would all be going through!
.May God bless you all. ❤️🌸🌸❤️
Furthermore,, it’s disgraceful that these greedy and heartless drug companies can get away with falsified results in their so-called ‘scientific research’ and testing that’s self serving and not in the best interest, health, well-being and lives of the many adored pooches worldwide!
Shame on them shame on them ALL!!🤬🤬

sadly, this is how all drug companies do business, even the ones that make drugs for humans. NEVER take a drug without first educating yourself very well about it and its side effects. Also, do not get info from just the company that made the drug. Get info from independent sources that have nothing to gain from misleading you, and info from other people that took the drug and share how it affected them, good or bad. Bottom line... you and your pets should take as few drugs as absolutely possible, and for as short of a time as possible.

@Brandon Calviloit's not the soy these dogs are reacting too, its the nerve agent
they put in these new flea chews to kills fleas & ticks, it suppose to paralyze the
flea & ticks, it also kills the dog, we have just got Bavecto for cats in Australia you watch we'll be seeing poor cats dying soon.

So sorry for you loss. Thank you for sharing. It will save other dogs. Now we also have to watch out for bad dog foods on top of all the tick and flea garbage. I have tons of people who have lost their dogs to this and other flea and tick garbage. I started looking into this for a friend of mine. I almost lost my dog to Advantage Multi a few years back. Since then I stay away from this type of thing and go for all natural stuff. I have been passing this sort of thing onto my friend. Take care of your other baby. Bless you for making this video. It touched my heart deeply.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Rowan - it has been a while, i realise, but still... - terrible at what has happened. It's crazy that x years later, people are still unaware of these products and what they can do to our companions - like we have faced recently with our pup. "if we would have known", right - i can hit myself in the face for this - vets are still supporting these poisons and we "have trust" in our vets, blindly following their advice. Never again, for sure! I'll fight for awareness because no pet (and their owners) should ever need to endure this. Take care!

I am so sorry for your loss. I heard the FDA's warning against these products yesterday and found your post. My 9 year old dog Zug became suddenly and violently ill in March 2018. Deteriorated neurologically within a few short weeks exactly the same course as Rowan. We were stunned. Our Vet (and a Neuro specialist) did many X-rays and tests and had no answers. I am certain it was due to the oral flea preventative that we gave him a few weeks before these symptoms began. Thank you for sharing your heartbreak and Rowan's story. We share your pain.

Thank you for sharing Rowan's story. About 3 months into giving my dogs Nexgard, my shepherd (Neko) was fine but my lab (Jam) started having horrible grand maul seizures. Did some quick research and immediately stopped giving it to them. Jam still has awful seizures, and seems to be aging faster than Neko. Jam is younger than my other dog - 6 years old - but is looking aged. He also doesn't bark anymore, only makes slight squeaking noises. I recently started using the Seresto collars and they are fantastic! No side effects, no fleas. Jam still has bad seizures. There's no obvious triggers, it just happens when it happens. I don't understand why this drug is still being pushed on our pets.

Thank you so much for sharing your story, my heart goes out to you. You are helping others by sharing your experience and I believe your belief is likely correct on what happened to Rowan. I actually have my puppies first dose at home of Nexgard but I have yet to give it to her. Something was nagging at me to research this product before giving it to her. I have come across countless stories of adverse effects and in many cases life threatening from what seems highly likely due to this product. Again, I am sorry for your loss but thank you for potentially helping so many by sharing.

I cried all through your video. I recently took my Izzy (pitbull) in for a yeast ear infection and the vet was horrified to discover that I did not have her on any flea treatments at the moment. The fleas have died off here finally due to a cold snap. The vet tried to get me interested in giving her either Nexgard or Bravecta. I smiled, and took her home without that! After researching many many pet owner reports of tragedies with their dogs after giving them these products, there is simply NO WAY that I will risk my Izzy with them. I go the old fashioned route: Frequent bathing with Castile soap, and treating my grounds and premises with diatomaceous earth. It's not ideal and we had a terrible battle this past year, but no one has passed away from it. I lost my other dog Po to lupus and a fast cancer and I strongly suspect that it was due to the bombardment of her system with too many vaccines and flea treatments. Never again. I'm old enough to remember when a dog was vaccinated for the major biggies as a puppy (parvo, distemper) and then considered good on them for life. I'm old enough to remember when no one dumped a bunch of stuff on their yards (other than manure) to make them look pretty, and pets were healthier then. People didn't dump a bunch of stuff on or into their pets back then either, and autoimmune diseases were rarely encountered. Clearly, money is being made, and the big beneficiaries care nothing about our animals. Greed rules this earth now. I am so sorry for your loss.

We didn't know it but was recommended Nexgard by the vet for our Basset Hound that was recovering on antibiotics and steroid medication. An hour after ingestion he vomited all his food. It was followed by an unexpected seizure which he momentarily recovered from but intensified at night. He was 11 years old and still robust but sadly died during boarding in the morning. Don't ever give your pet this poisonous insecticide!

I just did some investigations with my mother and thought of everything my two dogs had did anything different(far as products, food, medicine, vaccines etc.) for my boy to get lymphoma cancer they both eat the same dog food, I clean my house with plant base products, and they get the same vaccine every year since they was born and all they eat as treats is milk bone all of these have been in there life since early life the only thing they have took there whole life different and only one time was back in April my vet prescribed nexguard because my girl had a few fleas so he suggested I give it to both of them for three months straight so I started on April 20 for the next three months so they would of took last dose in June 20 so of course it would of remain in blood into near the end of July and September my boy had his first ever seizure in his life because of the cancer my oncologist told me and my mother he had got cancer in the past three months out of no where because it shocked me when she told me that cause I thought he had it for a while and she said no he hasn’t so three months back would of been right in the middle of near his last chewable nexguard and nexguard works directly in the blood system so when the fleas and ticks bite the dogs it kills them and it stays circulating in the dogs blood for long periods after that so now it all makes since my boy was only 6 and before the nexguard he was so healthy I know my dogs and lymphoma is a blood cancer at that it makes since when I though back it all made since that nexguard triggered the lymphoma in my boy if he would of never took that he would of not got cancer if you look it up and see how bad reviews it’s getting even fda was covering it up for awhile now they’re making them put more risks on the package and telling vets to explain more about it I truly believe in my heart this was the cause of it no matter anyone tells me most of us who loves are baby’s remember they’re history real good and that’s the only thing I’ve ever gave my dogs different in there entire life that’s how I came up with it then the blood cancer and the way nexguard works is through the blood system.
    RIP Blue 2/2/2015-10/20/2021

I was so sick after seeing this I could not help but cry. I am so terribly terribly sorry that you all had to go through this horrible thing. I pulled my guy off when I started to hear about what was going on. He was on Bravetco and now is on an all natural flea and tick by Drs. Mercola and Karen Becker. Why they still have this on the market is beyond me and everyone who reads these things and still puts their dog on them are really totally stupid. I am now convinced after these horrid stories and videos that YES, NEXGARD BRAVETCO and possibly Trifexus does cause these problems in our animals.

Found this vid while googling Nexgard vs Frontline Plus. My dogs only had both Frontline Plus topical u put on d neck & d spray type in d past. Yday I went to d pet supply store offering Nexgard but I want to research first. Nexgard stays on d dog's immune system for 30days & if allergic, it cant be washed off unlike Frontline. So ill stick with d latter. This is hard to watch, I feel ur grief. Lost my 5yo dam last May 2018 but bec of heart failure, a sudden death. My 4yo sire is left with me so Im very careful abt everything. Thank u for this video.Hope ur doing better now.

This is sad. Sorry . Me and my wife just got a shepherd puppy . Not even 9 weeks yet. They gave us one of those same pills for our puppy. To prevent tick and fleas . Luckily my wife had heard about all these issues. I had no idea until she told me. The vet said to wait till I got home to give it to him. Which seemed odd, but I guess that’s a way to deter liability . It’s shameful that this medication or poison is still being used . I was very close to giving him the pill last night too, not sure what stopped me but I just waited . I hope this doesn’t happen to any other families out there.
Then my wife took the pill back up to the office and was talked down to. She told them it was linked to deaths and serious side effects. The office told her “OH there is a ton of research saying this medication is safe with no serious side effects.” They are knowingly hurting people’s animals .

That "research" was bought and paid for by the people making and selling this poison. Sadly, I dont trust a word doctors tell me when it comes to drugs. That includes animal doctors too. Dont even get me started about vaccines. Research online is easy, quick, and free.

my personal experience, do not use Nexgard. My dog is now fighting autoimmune disease... which was diagnosed 2 days after she took Nexgard. She suddenly became listless, had a temp, didnt want to eat. We are right now in day 3 of vet visits, medications and SCARED to death for our dog. We have no idea what her outcome will be, we are praying and so worried for her. Do not use Nexgard!
The vet's office at first said there was no connection, then as we were leaving the office, they slipped and said.. ''well we will not be giving her Nexgard again'' SO??!! Dont use it.
I am praying for my beautiful dog to have the strength to fight this, but if I can save anyone else's beloved friend- then please listen to my story.

We gave the recommended dose by the vet. If you have done any kind of research on the drug you would see that it has had harmful affects to many different types of breeds. And just like with a lot of drugs it affects some differently than others.
Thank you for your lovely insight.

I lost my Australian 14 yer old dog 5 days after giving Bravecto chewable. She was active and fine until then. Threw up, stopped eating and had hard time breathing. This tablet brought on her death earlier than should have been naturally.
