i'm sorry sir, i dont have your name....i remember commenting a years breath away on a clip you so graciously performed the opening of Richard the Third....you have such a talent , as would gracefully belong in Stratford.....you bring the beloved words to life sir :), a rare gift...and one you must share with the world :)

Thank you so much Mark. I truly appreciate the kindness of your praise, it definitely motivates me to keep making these short films. Funny you should mention Stratford, this short film was the furthest I got in the Shakespeare on Film Festival in Stratford upon Avon. I didn't get to go alas, but hopefully someday. Thanks again - Hugo

I chanced upon this and decided to watch : expecting some half baked , OTTmelodramatic amateur rendition . To my astonishment it was stunningly well done .We could have done without the director's irritatingly gratuitous visuals and musicbut despite his / her best efforts they couldn't diminish the power of the performance .Superior to Patrick Stewart ; almost on a par with McKellen . Who was that guy ?

Hi there @2msvalkyrie Thanks so much for watching. I make these short monologues by myself, entirely - music composition as well. This one was particularly difficult as the wind (as you can hear and see) kept knocking down my tri-pod and there was a group of guys wandering around getting stoned and making noise, so I'm particularly proud that I got it done over the hour or so that I was up there. I have a lot to learn about editing and story-telling, I usually rush the edit process quite a bit, as well as having no real plan when I get to my location, so its fun and experimental but has some limitations as you can see. My acting website is in the description. You're very kind with your praise! Stewart and McKellan are two of my biggest influences! Comments like yours goes far to push me to do more! All the best!

Yes, I'm rather embarrassed by my "
" gratuitous visuals " remark . The fact that you did everything yourself only renders it more remarkable . Also , you didn't do the easy thing by imitating
Stewart or McKellen but rather, put your own stamp on it . BUT , unbelievably , only 539 views !!? What is wrong with people ?
I cannot believe you haven't already taken
the first steps in a long acting career ?
Perhaps you need a streak of Macbeth like ruthlessness or a Lady Macbeth in your Life ? Whatever : a masterful performance of perhaps the greatest theatrical monologue . Its already more than 99.9% of us have accomplished .
      Ave atque Vale.
