Many thanks for the upload. I have had the pleasure of listening live to the Maestro many times dating back to the 80's. Once he came to our university in Aston, Birmingham, UK and was magnificent. In the same period he performed with Abida Parween. He was pure genius in his prime. As mentioned by others he has lost his voice now, with age and Asthma, but even now when I listen to his Ghazals I get a thrill with the acrobatics he does with his voice. Ustad Ghulam Ali and Ustad Mehdi Hassan are in my opinion undoubtly the best ghazal singers we have had in the 20th Century.
These two are matchless...They alight the earth breaking their heavenly fringe just to marvel us & fill us till brim...After a while, it's their return passage to the starlit world of ambrosia.... Since their spirit is ageless, timeless; none can stand at par...They remain within us for Time Immemorial 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
He is the greatest in traditional , cultural and classical singing . He spent a long time with 100% devotion to learn singing and paid a great respect to his teacher . He is the simple and respectful person , have no proudness but love and kindness for every fan . He is the only one who can sing one word in so many ways and explain the feeling of it . Ghulam Ali gave his best performances in 70's and 80's and this is one of them. Unfortunately he has lost his voice due to asthma and after he's gone we'll be left with nothing as ghazal fans are still struggling after mehdi hassan's death. It will be hard to find ghazal singers of this caliber in future, god bless these legends and thanks for uploading this marvelous piece of music.
It's very difficult to accept that he has lost that magical voice..... happens with most singers at this age, but as hard it is for his fans one can't think how difficult it must be for him. Mehdi Hassan and Ghulam Ali sahab both defined how ghazal should be presented - though via two different styles. They are irreplaceable.... ever.
Don't panic.Everrybody comes and goes. Listen to Singers like Hariharan, ranjit Rajwade, Jazem Sharma, Arunasish Roy. They are also blessed.Need to accept and give place to new.
