You had to know that I'd still care
You had to know that I'd still be there (Yes, I would)
You had to know that I'd need you here (Yes, I do)
You had to know that I love you dear (Oh, yeah)
You had to know that I need you by my side
You had to know that I'd lose my pride for you
thanks, makes it easier to sing to -LOVE THIS SONGGGGGGG
Yes there's Stevie, there was Luther and all the rest but Mr Hathaway stands alone, head and shoulders above them all.
Speak on it….
Luther, Donny and Stevie are my top 3 male singers, hands down...
When I think of who's my favorite male vocalist of all time, a lot of people comes to mind, Luther, stevie, Levi stubbs, Joe Ligon, Rev. James Moore.... Ultimately it all boils down to the one and only Donny Hathaway. Donny and Aretha are my musical parents and I'm glad about it.
Pulled me in as if his sanging spirit was transcending into another relm of timelessness that goes on and on! The Donny Hathaway! Awesome, GOD given voice!
This is my man the voice of angel and soul to match there will never be another Donny. Never get to old to love his voice or his message of love. Bless you Donny you are truly missed to this day.
He was an amazing artist and it’s made evident listening to his darling daughter 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Thank you Mack- I did know, that’s why I called🫶🏾 REST EASY MACK, rest easy🥲❤️

The Black Prince of Soul with that Incredible Voice, Mr. Donny Hathaway.
Again...THE VERY BEST SINGER OF ALL TIME!!
The mix of pain and hope wrapped in one beautiful voice. Incredible
Yes! He DEFINITELY should be inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
The voice of a warm soulful person, fills my heart with warmth.
The G.O.A.T. BABY! "Greatest of all time". Wish I could go back in time just to see and hear one of his albums, let's keep it real, ALL OF HIS .MUSIC LIVE🎹
Always glad to hear "new" music by Donny. Love this man's vocals.
Donny Hathaway does not get enough credit for the genius that he was and is (for those just learning about him). He was a vocal master and composer! Definitely blessed with a gift from above! RIP Brother!
Hey Rhino Entertainment, RELEASE THIS OFFICIALLY!!!
Why? Donny not hear to make a the profits from it, and I’m sure Layla and Kenya don’t own his masters.
@@CodyCole80 I'm sure they would make profits off of it. Rhino does own all of Donny's back catalogue and they have released archival stuff before. Plus to make it available to the fans of his work.
We don't know what agreement Warner and Donny's family have with each other.
@Howard Parks, I second that notion! It’s 4:30 a.m. and I don’t know how I ended up here, but I’m most grateful that I have instinctively found my way. I am a HUUUUUUUUGE fan of him so much so that my children and I refer to him as Uncle Donny. His music is timeless and this piece is a jewel that have been unearthed.
Yooo if you are a singer you know that he is the one that a lot of the singers tried to imitate my goodness listen to this man's voice the tone the way he attacks a song priceless we miss you Danny
I've waited decades to hear this, Donny with Cold Blood. Thank you.
Lydia did a fine job with this as well back in '73 I think. Heard her do it in St. Paul a dozen years ago or so.
Everything is Everything is one of my all favorite records.
Beautiful
A blessed voice!!!
A musical genius that heals the soul, and the message his voice delivers a punch, that stops you in whatever you doing, but listen, to the music.
This is the man i still mourn even today, erespective of the years gone by. Donny Hathaway, please find peace where you are, till we meet again.
Been collecting Donny’s stuff since the early’70s. Even have a copy of the soundtrack he did. NEVER HEARD THIS TILL TODAY.
