When Miranda nonchalantly said, “Someone tried to . . . kill me,” she was actually trying to elicit a giggle from the two co-hosts, as the story she was about to tell them was not about her traumatic experience of being stalked by a homicidal/suicidal maniac or how she coped with that trauma. The story was about her trying to “fit in” with the “cool crowd” only to have it backfire on her. She learned a lesson to stop trying to “fit in” with certain groups that she perceives as having “social status” BECAUSE she thinks they have “social status”. Basically, she learned in college to avoid cliques, a lesson many of us learn in high school, but of course, with her being a “child star”, she didn’t attend high school and instead, she had a private tutor on the set of the TV show she was on.
She didn’t say it like it was serious for a second but i think she was trying to not think too deep into how serious it really was and stay with light side of the story
Laughing is one of the most common and unfortunate nervous responses, she clearly wasn’t laughing cause she thinks is funny, but because she was panicking with the heaviness of the information.
Child stars usually end up as drug addicts or pos adults, but Miranda seems like a total down to earth sweet heart. I hope she stays healthy and safe ❤
I used to laugh as a defense mechanism as well- thank God I grew out of that through personal healing, I probably wouldn't be able to stand this interviewer cackling at my misfortune
Miranda is one of four child actors i respect immensely. Natalie Portman, Chole Grace Moritz and Neil Patrick Harris are the other 3. Good company. Yes i realize I probably misspelled Chole's last name, but at least you can tell i'm not obsessed, just appreciative of talent.
@crimsonguy723 Not really keeping a list, as much as remembering being impressed by early roles. Matilda in The professional and Hit girl in kickers? Who wasn't impressed with those roles. That's the kind of things that stick in the memory. While I wasn't a big fan for Dougie Hauser,(only watched one episode), I respect Neil's acting chops. If you haven't seen Dr. Horrible's sing along blog, you must look it up. He's operationally trained and is an amazing singer, too. Miranda was the best thing in Drake and Josh. My son was too old to watch iCarly, so I've never bothered, but Miranda's character is something rare for the movie industry and even more rare for kids growing up in the industry. There are too many of them that fall off the deep end and get addicted or do crimes. The people I've named are respectful, and they deserve recognition for that. People like Deniro, while being a good actor, is an imbecile and I have zero respect for him, which causes me to avoid his movies. But I digress.
Being popular in college is like a whole lifestyle change to being popular in high school, in high school if your top of the food chain you generally feel the insecurity of unknown outside of your schools inner circle, after you get to college it’s like knowing and entire small city by memory

I don’t know maybe I’m being harsh but how is it so hard to show compassion for such a horrifying experience 🙁

Well she is a comedian. So 🤷♀️ don't act like you've never laughed in or at an awkward conversation.
@@georgieporgie317 Yeah. I do the same thing. Maybe that’s why it bothers me.
Too be fair, Esther is a comedian, and most comedians can’t take anything seriously without laughing.
Child stars usually end up as drug addicts or pos adults, but Miranda seems like a total down to earth sweet heart. I hope she stays healthy and safe ❤
Her: “I had someone try to kill me 😐”
Interview: “OMGGG, stooppp you’re too funny 🤪✨”
Her friends are like “that Miranda girl is too much drama!” Lol
I used to laugh as a defense mechanism as well- thank God I grew out of that through personal healing, I probably wouldn't be able to stand this interviewer cackling at my misfortune
Maybe it's not and you're projecting? Dark humor exists, and she delivered her point in a way that could be conveyed as funny.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 It’s not dark humor though, it’s an interview with Miranda Cosgrove lmfao
Never expected her to grow up to look like MJ
The casualness with which she talks about that guy 😅🫢🫠
Miranda is one of four child actors i respect immensely. Natalie Portman, Chole Grace Moritz and Neil Patrick Harris are the other 3. Good company.
Yes i realize I probably misspelled Chole's last name, but at least you can tell i'm not obsessed, just appreciative of talent.
Very strange to keep a list of child actors that you respect, just sayin'.
Respecting Neil Patrick Harris is wild , he didn’t turn out like the rest of them, his name is on lists🤔
Neil Patrick Harris had a cake made of the corpse of Amy Winehouse and used it as the centerpiece at his party. Weird you have “respect” for that.
Bridgit Mendler !!
I actually do cuss a little
Being popular in college is like a whole lifestyle change to being popular in high school, in high school if your top of the food chain you generally feel the insecurity of unknown outside of your schools inner circle, after you get to college it’s like knowing and entire small city by memory
I've heard so many stories about how cool Miranda Cosgrove is.... Protect her 🙌🏾
Who would even dare to hurt such a beautiful and pure soul like hers?
Sole you say? 🧐
For a second: I read it as these girls agreed to meet up, sent the guy instead…
Being concerned about losing potential friends you think are cool over them knowing someone try to murder you is so relatable I’m not even joking!
I remember hearing about that! It was so insane 😭 I felt SO bad for her because I know she had trauma bc of that! I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I knew I had a stalker that watched my house every day and then tried to kill me and set himself on fire after he thought he murdered me 😭 it’s so scary
Laughing maniacally at someone saying someone tried to kill them is weird.. it’s her trauma, not yours to laugh at. People are way too comfortable
She’s laughing as if she’s telling a joke but then drops ‘he tried to kill me’ stfu
She even says that she’s not laughing about what she said but how she said it so casually
Some people laugh because a story is just damn nuts, I do that all the time. Absurdity in life extracts a different kind of laugh like Esther did
@@TheGoobsters yeah we know but it is still weird, she is too wrecked and insensitive. We become more and more insensitive bc of the things we watched, news we saw etc.
@@kai-dp6wyMiranda was laughing too. It would be weirder if the other girl would try to make the interview really sad.
I know the laughing is a shocked / nervous response because what she’s hearing is shocking, but people really need to control themselves. Someone attacking and trying to kill you permanently affects you for life, no matter how nonchalant you are able to speak about it. I don’t know maybe I’m being harsh but how is it so hard to show compassion for such a horrifying experience 🙁
yeah you are deeping it too much, it’s literally just a funny juxtaposition between the obviously serious subject matter and the delivery??? if she was bringing it up in the context of her trauma around it, and being super serious yes it would be inappropriate, but that just isn’t the context at all they’re literally friends 🙄
@@muzz4610 Not to mention, this is just one small clip with lots of editing and little context surrounding it.
She's a standup comedian. They process pain differently.
Yawn. Go touch grass.
Yes, Miranda strikes me as someone who’s really nice and goes with the flow, so even if Miranda was offended, I don’t think she’d say anything about those girls laughing :/ I don’t think it’s funny to laugh at such a traumatic experience like that.
why is she always so chill with every terrifying story she tells 😭 she'll like talk about almost dying and shes like "yeah it was a little scary 😁"
it so weird seeing her now. i’ve always looked at her like a sister growing up watching her shows and to see her all grown up is honestly so wild, it’s almost like time exists or something and i forget about it
Her friend almost gets killed she cackles like a witch straight out of the wizard of oz 😂
(Says the most traumatic thing)
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
She has such a unique look and voice that I can’t help but feel like it’s just Carly!
The talent and and original thought in that room is sparce 😂🤣😂
Huh?
Kind of weird that the host laughs, maybe her way of dealing with stress.
It’s the same thing when people laugh at a funeral it’s a trauma response to death
Hollywood is weird she was laughing very aggressively.
I can’t deal with the giggles…
It’s kinda weird seeing her talk after not seeing her since my childhood
I think childhood acting taught her to disassociate cause when she tells these sad stories she’ll either just smile through it or doesn’t appear to be sad about it
I was at USC at the same time as she was. I think I saw her once or twice, our curricula was never going to overlap as she was, reasonably, studying film while I was not. But it was definitely cool to know there were active celebrities in campus (she wasn’t the only one).
Who else was on campus?
@@Nasuada15 america ferrara
That’s pretty cool
this is lowkey the plot of bunny by mona awad lol if you need a good horror rec
A “most popular girl in college” is WILDDD
She must have meant on her course. Obviously the average college is too big and segregated for anyone to be Most Popular
Yeah it's called homecoming queen. Usually in a sorority.
Yeah USC is huge, like 40k huge. there are no “most popular girls” university wide, they only exist within a given social circle
She will forever be icarly. How do you not immediately think of that when talking to her 😂
She’s so wholesome and freaking adorable
The fact she laughed is how much the icarly show has impacted us because we all just needed a laughing track and it would make it so unserious 😭. I feel bad for her though like I’m sure it was super traumatizing having a random man try to do that.
Woah, Miranda Cosgrove
She still looks the same 🔥
Awe Icarly seems like such a soft spoken woman she’s cute
That ladies reaction is so horrible. Miranda is traumatized most likely and she’s just laughing like hahahahahqqhhwhqhq u almost died ahahahahah like wtf?
Love Miranda
“Then the doctor said i it was cancer and i only have 6 months to live”
“Bwahahahahaha!”
Honestly feel so bad for her with how much she went through
I m down with M.C she a gem
GUYS LEAVE WOMEN ALONE! Stop being creepy and weird. Stop getting infatuated and obsessed. Chill!
Thank god we still have Miranda.
We all just gon ignore the maniac that dies laughing every time she says “kill me”🤔😮💨❗️
What!??
for the love of god do not laugh at that… you had two chances and blew it both times
