      I’m sure it was traumatizing. At the same time I think she knows how ridiculous it sounds to anyone else. “Someone tried to kill me” is not something said in every day conversation.

      Eh pretty normal for people to treat their own trauma as a joke. Makes it easier to get over it for some. I laugh ab a lot of shit and while I’m laughing the other person is just… dumbfounded. We see our own trauma differently than others trauma

    • @evanrachelhood
      @evanrachelhood 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +99

      I can’t speak for all the folks who experienced something similar; I speak very nonchalantly about the home invasion I survived, bc that’s how people treated it after the incident. People literally laughed in my face, because they couldn’t imagine going through that. The human brain minimizes the trauma for the person listening to the story, and eventually for the person who experienced the event.

    So apparently she had a stalker who staked out her house but she wasn’t there. Another car came by, he shot at it as they escaped. Then he unalived himself. That’s insane and I can’t believe this is the first I’m hearing of it.

    When Miranda nonchalantly said, “Someone tried to . . . kill me,” she was actually trying to elicit a giggle from the two co-hosts, as the story she was about to tell them was not about her traumatic experience of being stalked by a homicidal/suicidal maniac or how she coped with that trauma. The story was about her trying to “fit in” with the “cool crowd” only to have it backfire on her. She learned a lesson to stop trying to “fit in” with certain groups that she perceives as having “social status” BECAUSE she thinks they have “social status”. Basically, she learned in college to avoid cliques, a lesson many of us learn in high school, but of course, with her being a “child star”, she didn’t attend high school and instead, she had a private tutor on the set of the TV show she was on.

      @crimsonguy723 Not really keeping a list, as much as remembering being impressed by early roles. Matilda in The professional and Hit girl in kickers? Who wasn't impressed with those roles. That's the kind of things that stick in the memory. While I wasn't a big fan for Dougie Hauser,(only watched one episode), I respect Neil's acting chops. If you haven't seen Dr. Horrible's sing along blog, you must look it up. He's operationally trained and is an amazing singer, too. Miranda was the best thing in Drake and Josh. My son was too old to watch iCarly, so I've never bothered, but Miranda's character is something rare for the movie industry and even more rare for kids growing up in the industry. There are too many of them that fall off the deep end and get addicted or do crimes. The people I've named are respectful, and they deserve recognition for that. People like Deniro, while being a good actor, is an imbecile and I have zero respect for him, which causes me to avoid his movies. But I digress.
