(adding my 2 cents) Charlotte's voice was such an amazing way to start this collection! It definitely set the stage for the rest of this week's episode. Well done, Pure!!
Another perfectly polished gem! Today's selections bring warmth, exhilaration, and thoroughly please eyes and ears. Even within smaller countries, places with relatively low populations, we discover gigantic talents. The wonderful contraltos from Croatia and van Vlaanderen had me hanging on every note, and Jiah Mariz's rendition of "Rise Up" (10:24) was quite fabulous! *P.S.* -- I just noticed that Norway's Jiah Mariz has posted a comment here. Good luck, young lady!
Right out of the gate, I knew I was going to really like this one, dear Pure!! 💁🏻♀️😍 You know that I’m a sucker for low female voices, having one myself, so Charlotte’s song was enthusiastically received!! I also enjoyed Ana’s James Brown cover, as it was reminiscent of Karise Eden’s version from Australia. Woot’s “1+1” was smooth, and Jiah’s “Rise Up” was a solid choice, so lovely. Thea’s “Piece by Piece” had me in my feelings, it was so emotional. Overall, I wasn’t ready for this compilation to end. Super nice!! 😘
Perhaps the most unusual voice and style of this set of nine was Charlotte Geiregat on van Vlaanderen, a great beginning to be followed by Thea Helen Dalen from Norway. Van Vlaanderen has had many great performances in the past and it is encouraging to see again such a wide range from them in this small sampling. The last song by Sandy Meeus was the third standout for me and was again from van Vlaanderen. We can all be assured of getting the widest and best of what is the Voice by pureemotion, as illustrated yet again by this Top 9!
Those first two performances were great. Charlotte Geiregat has a deep voice. Don't you hate it when they wait until the last moment to hit their buttons, like they did for Thea Helen Dalen, especially since she's got really good vocal control. They all had good vocals. The last one's interesting because TH-cam's been showing me a version of "When I Was Your Man", sung by a girl on the Voice Kids Portugal 2021, and the comparison is, well, not quite fair (Sandy Meeus is a better singer). But they sing the song differently. The girl is more emotional. In any case, thanks for another stellar compilation, Pure.
Right...so I'm a little bit annoyed with you P.E.M.. Dry January etc and I had decided to avoid the Red... then of course, February arrives and you had to post. Boring (lovely) Pinotage...I'll watch and come back to you...(this is not a troll...it's an 'in' joke so please don't harass peeps) Ok so what's happening in Holland??.So much quality...reminds me of Yente
