Never in a million years would I have thought I’d be one of the winners, I cannot express in words how happy I am!! There were so many AMAZING artworks submitted it’s insane! Hello Slew, beautiful contest you hosted. Although,my piece,a pen drawing of myself with two teddy bears that i titled "AUGUST" wasn't featured in this video,i was motivated to create art and i had so much fun doing it as well, and I'm pretty sure that was your reason for hosting this contest in the first place. I would have loved to be one the winners but now that i see these art pieces that have been chosen,i think my piece, despite of how creative i got with the pose and interaction with the objects,fell short because it lacked some details. Please let Alpay know that i will appreciate a video of him taking time to critique other submissions and hopefully he talks about mine in that video. I had the collage in the beginning of the video! It's so cool you showed my picture!! I loved this contest it really pushed me to do do my best work. I spent over 50 hours on this project and it was so SO cool! Well worth it! Thank you SLEW! I would have loved to see more mixed media and various mediums but I still loved seeing all the paintings!
It was really great experience to being part of this amazing art contest, enjoyed the painting process alot while seeing all the amazing entries people were uploading, was really an enjoyable ride, fortunate enough that I made it to the final video, thank you everyone ❤
I had a fun time with this contest but as a viewer I’d like to point out that most of the top picks were paintings. Obviously the crowd of slew and alpay are more likely to be painters but it was a little disappointing not to see some really interesting pieces that weren’t paintings up in this video. No hate to anyone of course and it’s not my contest, but I was so excited for this contest and as someone who didn’t paint for it it does feel like painters got more attention. I may be the only one who feels this way but I did want to point it out as I’ve been looking at every submission I can find. Thanks for the feedback! I actually think the styles of the finalists were quite different… and purposefully chose different styles! When there is quite a lot of money on the line I had to be specific with the caliber of work but also made sure to pick a bunch of entries I thought were different! Again thanks for the feedback.
I think most had a realistic feel and I was expecting more cartoony than I saw but I didn’t see all of the submissions and for all I know there could be almost 0 cartoony/stylistic ones and the ones there were didn’t have much effort 🤷♂️ I have to enter though next year and do a stylistic one 💪
I think looking at the entires that made it to the video they were all very much straight forward with the prompt. I also would point out in the update video they did say you can be as creative as you want and go all wacky also saying it can be in any style of choice. I guess we all kinda thought that there would be more variety, in the top pick in terms of style like graphic, cartoony, anime, pop art, abstract, etc; or even for creativeness like a super crazy theme or concept although some were quite creative. Still congrats to all the winners though🎉🎉🎉

Hey, first of all I really enjoyed the contest and congrats to all winners, you guys did a very good job. Alpay is amazing artist, i'm a huge fan, but as a digital artist i want to get one thing straight, digital artists doesn't choose that medium because we don't have any money for paints or canvas, we choose it because of many more opportunities and make different form language, most of digital artists don't want imitating traditional arts. Next time maybe you need a digital artist too in jury. love you all guys

congrats to all the winners! they are all incredible artists with a great eye (or imagination) love that we got to see the judging, and really explaining your reasons! thank you so much for this competition, I always thought painting wasn't for me and I've drawn all my life and tried so many mediums and read so many books and watch so many youtube videos, and this competition got me to pick up a paintbrush and actually try. definitely have a ton of room to grow, and seeing the amount of skill involved in these it makes me want to keep trying and learning. I surprised myself when I painted mine, never thought I'd be able to paint as well as I did, so thank you for getting me and I'm sure so many others to give painting or art in general a try. I look forward to learning more here!

Although I'm disappointed that my sketch wasn't featured in the video and I didn't win at all, I enjoyed sketching again and challenging myself. I don't want to come across as a sore loser, this was fun, so I'll simply say thank you. I hope to participate in the next contest that you'll be hosting and this time, I'll enter with a painting instead of a sketch.

I wanna move a critique to the video but with the premise that I really liked the idea and how Slew imposted the contest. So I was disappointed mostly about the judgments of Alpay. If you notice throughout the video he just says "this is kool" or "u kot to appreciate this" without giving a real observation and focus about the concept or idea behind a piece , the stylistics choices, the originality and the meaning of the work submitted. In addition to that, as someone else already said in this comment section, the selection of work had some problems as well if we consider that the body of drawings/paintings selected are stylistically pretty much the same (in the hashtag you can see works more stylezed, abstract, cartoony etc made with techniques like pen and ink, watercolor, pen, charcoal etc) There's a lack of professionality in all of that and for this reason I'd have preferred that the judgments were given by a more experienced artist who has a stronger critical spirit and sensibility in this subject. I feel that i have to point out all of this 'cause this video appealed to me very amateur and shallow treatment to people who took this contest seriously and above all professionally. I don't wanna sound harsh and senselessly mean, at the contrary, I've just reported to you the problems that I noticed in this video with the intention of create a higher quality contest the next year! Aand as always art is awesome and I will keep watching all of your videos🫶🏻
I'm still happy even though I didn't win. I had so much fun making my piece, I stepped out of my comfort zone and did realism. Hopefully I have an awesome portfolio piece. I had so much fun watching the video, and I love how this contest has brought us artists together. Congratulations to all of the winners!

The video definitely was awesome. The entries were so good. I am kinda jealous to be true 😅 . But this had me realize to learn more and more. Also omg the creativity many had. Alpae please go through other entries also like mine 😅 . I think for self learning artists like me your critiques would actually help the smaller artist. I messed up my sketch so I never finished my project. Art is awesome... but no seriously, art IS awesome. I wish I had the confidence to post my artwork online.. and this is why i didnt lol sooooo many talented artists out there. amazing job to each and every person who submitted. It takes guts to post things like this for the world to see. As a watercolorist, I would have liked to see more watercolor and other types of mediums, but all the submissions were fire..
Great artworx! Many of these could have easily been done before the contest and just thrown in as a submission. More guidelines needed to ensure a fresh piece of work specifically for this contest.

thank you so much for this competition, I always thought painting wasn't for me and I've drawn all my life and tried so many mediums and read so many books and watch so many youtube videos, and this competition got me to pick up a paintbrush and actually try.
definitely have a ton of room to grow, and seeing the amount of skill involved in these it makes me want to keep trying and learning. I surprised myself when I painted mine, never thought I'd be able to paint as well as I did, so thank you for getting me and I'm sure so many others to give painting or art in general a try. I look forward to learning more here!

Congrats to the winners. Half way through I knew I had no chance of winning. I still went into it giving my 100% and learned so much while painting. Will try harder next time. I agree/disagree with some of the comments…still fun to do.

Congratulations to the winners, there was so much talent in all of entries and it was awesome to be able to see so many different interpretations of the prompt.
Although I'm disappointed that my sketch wasn't featured in the video and I didn't win at all, I enjoyed sketching again and challenging myself. I don't want to come across as a sore loser, this was fun, so I'll simply say thank you. I hope to participate in the next contest that you'll be hosting and this time, I'll enter with a painting instead of a sketch.

I wanna move a critique to the video but with the premise that I really liked the idea and how Slew imposted the contest.
So I was disappointed mostly about the judgments of Alpay. If you notice throughout the video he just says "this is kool" or "u kot to appreciate this" without giving a real observation and focus about the concept or idea behind a piece , the stylistics choices, the originality and the meaning of the work submitted.
In addition to that, as someone else already said in this comment section, the selection of work had some problems as well if we consider that the body of drawings/paintings selected are stylistically pretty much the same (in the hashtag you can see works more stylezed, abstract, cartoony etc made with techniques like pen and ink, watercolor, pen, charcoal etc)
There's a lack of professionality in all of that and for this reason I'd have preferred that the judgments were given by a more experienced artist who has a stronger critical spirit and sensibility in this subject. I feel that i have to point out all of this 'cause this video appealed to me very amateur and shallow treatment to people who took this contest seriously and above all professionally.
I don't wanna sound harsh and senselessly mean, at the contrary, I've just reported to you the problems that I noticed in this video with the intention of create a higher quality contest the next year!

I'm still happy even though I didn't win. I had so much fun making my piece, I stepped out of my comfort zone and did realism. Hopefully I have an awesome portfolio piece. I had so much fun watching the video, and I love how this contest has brought us artists together. Congratulations to all of the winners!

The video definitely was awesome. The entries were so good. I am kinda jealous to be true 😅 . But this had me realize to learn more and more. Also omg the creativity many had. Alpae please go through other entries also like mine 😅 . I think for self learning artists like me your critiques would actually help the smaller artist. So I would love to have a video for the submissions which would have great potential or can learn a lot. ❤❤ thank you @slew for hosting the competition and @alpae. I love both of your works. I enjoyed the process of making mine and seeing others that is a plus for me❤❤

I messed up my sketch so I never finished my project. I kinda expected it going downhill as I never do either portrait or still life 😅 It would be lovely to see some more entries, maybe a deep dive critique in a next video. I wish I had the confidence to post my artwork online.. and this is why i didnt lol sooooo many talented artists out there. amazing job to each and every person who submitted. It takes guts to post things like this for the world to see. As a watercolorist, I would have liked to see more watercolor and other types of mediums, but all the submissions were fire..

Many of these could have easily been done before the contest and just thrown in as a submission. More guidelines needed to ensure a fresh piece of work specifically for this contest.
I agree! That’s why I stated that in the original video and made it clear. All the finalist I made sure were new artwork specifically for this contest.
