Chinese guy here. Allow me to say, there are Chinese people who love Indian music and culture. I love the Nooran Sisters, just as I love mango lassi, naan bread, and all the curries. I hope the two great people have no conflict in the future. We can live happily together.
We Indians don't hate Chinese people at all. Neighbours since millennium. We are just waiting for Chinese regime change so we can again live peacefully as neighbours
We are ancient civilizational brothers , we commanded the world for all time barring last 3 centuries. I love Chinese food and culture . It's just that Chinese govt is too aggressive .....
Raw music , raw sound , raw talent...listen to this. I had seen this when it was first shown in mtv tripping. Don't forget to give credit to sneha to come up with such brilliant idea of recording sounds around and putting them together for such a awesome piece.
I uploaded this full episode of Sound Trippin on my channel but it has been blocked in India due to copyright claim. It can be viewed from outside India. I can't find it anywhere else on youtube.
I too came here after the heavy metal remix. Imagine my shock finding the Nooran Sisters. And wow, beautiful too! This is amazing! Such soul and emotion, despite me not having a CLUE what the words mean.
This is came way back on MTV, Sneha Khanwalkar made some bad ass music for MTV Sound Trippin. Been a fan of Nooran Sisters and Sneha Khanwalkar since. Thank you KaanPhod Music.
Pity, no one actually speaks about/gives credit to the excellent job of the video edit craft here; just amplifies the vibe and fun of watching the video so much.
Sneha Khanwalkar is ahead of her time. Her music such powerful. And the Nooran sisters are such beautiful excellent singers. Huge gift to india these ladies are. Lots of love to you. This song makes me nostalgic remembering growing up listening to this in sound tripping in Mtv in my teen.
Oh man! The swag in which the female singers sing!! Just amazing!!! This video song makes it quiet clear that girls or women don't need glamorous/short/exposing clothes to be beautiful and still have swag while wearing modest clothes.
We have to admit that this original version is the all time best creation by real performers like you. Tremendous work done and only this version will rock till infinity no matter what. Keep working like this. Blessings and Best wishes.
Way before Bloodywood made the folk ound of Punjab cool, Sneha and Nooran sisters were really cooking it. I have been obsessed about this song for long. As someone else said, it'll be epic to see this song on a Grammy like stage with Dhol, heavy power chord riffs, drums & bass, with Bhangraa performed on stage. It'll be a true celebration of world cultures.
That "tung tung baaje" is basically the line for the local musical instrument called "tumbbi" and its very famous in punjab and other northern regions of india but mainly punjabi singers use this instrument in their songs.
I thought so! I knew that in the song Tunak Tunak Tun by Dahler Mehendi, he was singing about this instrument (relating it to plucking the strings of love, I believe). I was very much wondering if this song was also referencing the same instrument. Thank you!
Salim Merchant used Tumbi in 'Ainvyi ainvyi' song as the opening sound. Its high pitch and slighlt raw, off-tune tonality goes so well with drums n bass. (though in one interview, Salim said that he used a Tumbi sample, and not the real instrument).
Awesome beats, always gives goosebumps when I hear this song, Love it so much, what a strong voice lovely, plus I loved the way they set up the video so simple yet very effective
This makes me miss channel 26 KTSF in the bay, used to play Bollywood music every Saturday morning. Now it’s only K-pop. I loved listening and watching the videos while cleaning. ❤
The woman shown holding a Mike and recording sound, growing up I heard her interview stating, " India has so much chaos and noise but actually most of it is music. And many woman are interviewing but actually no-one in composing and producing the music. " On channel v or MTV I don't recall properly but she went on to visit all the sounds and noise and find local folks singers and original singers. She recorded most of the sound like this and mixed it up with techno. She even recorded MP, Up, and Bihari folks songs that are dying now and if I am not wrong she went on the put those songs in movies. The gangs of wasseypur songs are epitome of that. And nooran sisters were her discovery and she also found folks singers in rajasthan. I give her hatts off to her and the MTV/channel V whosoever who funded those 90's pop and indie pop. I was a kid but this was my favorite. When watching sashay movie, I went out and immediately found this song back again. Better than the movie ones.
This song originally recorded and played on channel v or MTV don't remember properly in year 2000-2003. But it gained popularity only by akshay movie. Both sisters were teenagers then now fully grown adults.
I’m not a big Bollywood or desi music fan but currently obsessed with this song. Came here from the heavy metal remix by Andre
Me too, but this one surprised me.
I can’t stop watching this…
Was looking if smn else came here from that ;P
I also started with the Andre+Nooran sisters duo metal remix. These babes have truly amazing vocals chords!. Love it!❤
You ended up here just like the other 99٪ 😆. Andre is the maker of connections ! Great journey so far.

As an Indian I'd say most people here don't hate Chinese people. Chinese people are hardworking. I like Chinese food though.
We Indians don't hate Chinese people at all. Neighbours since millennium. We are just waiting for Chinese regime change so we can again live peacefully as neighbours
This is Punjabi not Indian if u want to listen Indian music go search bhojpuri song 😂

Beautiful comment
Andre Antunes cover version brought me here..
Exceptional talent and awesome performance and video!
I agree
Andre's arrangement is great, but the original... I had no idea. You don't need additional metal. This is heavy AF.
The fact that this came out almost 15 years ago blows my mind! Sneha khanwalkar is such a legend!
My childhood fev song in Bluetooth era
Saw this when I was a kid in mtv blew my mind .. still mesmerized by editor..
I’m Mexican and I love the Nooran sisters, Jyoti has the most beautiful smile in the world 😊 🌎😎
Holy shit, someone said it. ❣️
Elas iam ser famosas na América Latina então, porque eu também acho ela muito, mas muito bonita jajajajaj
They are so good.
Wow.

Also Dub sharma for kick ass production

Me too.
" Raw music, raw sound "
You clearly have zero clue of what you're talking about if raw is the word you use to describe this
Imagine this song being performed at the Oscars with full blown Bhangra performance with Dhol and everything. Damn...
Aag laga denge!
Nooran sisters can be seen on screen so I want to take this moment to praise SNEHA KHANWALKER, she is simply brilliant in her craft
I have no idea what was "sold to Canada", but this song is infectious.
😂 You made my day! 👍
tunga tunga by the sound of it!!! ;)
tung tung obviously
Lol ... She is saying " sound karda " not "sold to Canada" .... "Sound Karda " means " it makes the sound of "
@@manumaan9 What does Canada have to do with anything?

Sneha Khanwalkar created certain tunes with rural folk from across India for MTV back in 2012.
This Sound Engineer needs an Oscar or Grammy or whatever may be the best
Sneha Khanwalkar ❤🙌
I’m South Indian and don’t even understand the lyrics but this song hits very differently.
Music is language for all Bro. Jai Ho !
Same here bro , could only get some words , but this song slaps 😅😅😅

I don't understand a single word of it (I'm Arab), but I see Jyoti and I click :)
There's nothing to understand in this song... It's only for vibe
