I've been watching SNL since 1975 and WU has always been my favorite part. Che & Jost are one of the best teams ever in the endearing & hilarious ways they play off each other. Fun talk!
when Dana's son passed away, Colin held up a cue card on SNL that said: "We love you Dana and Paula." I thought they were gonna talk about that on this podcast. Hopefully Dana and Colin talked in private and thanked him. FANTASTIC episode!!! I've been wanting these guys forever. They are really just two super nice and talented guys
Hubba hubba, Michael Che Fox is more like it. I'm trying to get a job as an entertainment reporter. My friend is a paparazzi and he said that David Spade is one of the nicest guys out there. He always poses and has a friendly little chat with the people. He even played me a message where David was thanking him, call them friend, telling my friend he deposited the money already and let him know where he was eating dinner that night.
Love it! Carvey's natural speaking voice sounds so much like Dennis Miller his impressions are indistinguishable from the real deal. I would be pranking Dennis's friends and family daily.
These are the Weekend Update anchors you've had on: Seth Meyers Tina Fey Dennis Miller Amy Poehler Jimmy Fallon Colin Quinn Kevin Nealon Chevy Chase Dan Aykroyd Cecily Strong
I love you guys. The horrible audio quality of your guests is really starting to get on my nerves some of the pods are just unlistenable. How difficult is it for your producer to coordinate decent audio quality with your guests before the podcast starts? Even a bluetooth headset connected to a laptop or a phone would go a long way to making good audio. Most of these people who wore guests on podcasts are absolutely clueless about how **** their audio sounds on the other end you could even ship a set of Bluetooth headphones for your guests a week before the podcast and have them ship it back with a return label. It sounds like they are in a bucket that is 100 feet away.
I hope that during SNL's 50th season, they bring back that one recurring family reunion sketch, like with Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler, but have it be Lorne Michaels' family reunion.
Dana, unsurprisingly mispronounces "height" as "highth" within 30 seconds of the episode's open. I know personally, that the schools in the Bay Area are not that bad.
Wow,surprising that the guy who was hanging out at Lauren's house got a couple of big spots on the first show of his... What did Dana do what clean his house. Bring Paul McCartney drinks by the pool? Just kidding, and I actually really studied this and know for a fact, and I know that sounds boastful and dubious, but a lot of people understand Billy is the greatest actor ever, the biggest secret, besides mine, he's kept and he's a wonderful amazing musician. Most people are mad because Paul was the one and only, amazing Irish lad. Like Billy called the shots, Billy had to do what he had to do, right. The most famous spy ever was a guy named Maxwell, and I'm not sure how smart he was, but Trump was really good friends with his daughter and did a lot of interesting things with her and her kids.... So my point is if Maxwell tells you to do something, you best be doing it. Unless you want a silver hammer to come down upon your head. Mic drop
Give him a break, he’s planing on coming up with plans. You watch, when he becomes president he’ll think about making so many plans that you’ll have to plan to get ready for his plans 👍🏽
You must not have very good media literacy because they do make fun of leftist politicians and some of the things younger people do. If you want right-leaning "comedy" go watch whatever Daily Wire puts out or else keep hate watching SNL and whine like a snowflake
I have zero respect for Colin. He humiliated my brother during one of his updates during a very hurtful time and my brother's life. Yes I get that to him, it's just a new story. But these two need to realize that there are real people behind these stories.
@@conrio456 My brother was a contestant on Jeopardy, which was truly a lifelong dream for him. And he did really well on it. Unfortunately, internet trolls (being what they are) decided to take to X to tear him down by insulting his looks, his clothing, and comparing him to Hitler. This was so hurtful, but what hurt worse for him was that SNL picked up the story and further made fun of him. I get it - "public personalities" are supposed to have thick skin apparently. But, he still deals with the anger and hurt from it (not as bad as when it happened). And I know just me posting it here will cause backlash too. And, being the protective big sister, I truly have no respect for either of them. It's easy to kick at someone when you don't know who they are or their story. Hope the laughs they got from it were worth it.
@@katielizsmithgood for you defending your brother. They should stick to making fun of celebrities or political figures who are ready to deal with public exposure
Listening to this cast, scrolling down the list of other vids...then I see the two guys on a Stern cast. Says SNL writers etc., and these guys names.. now I know who these two guys are. Not really, since SNL after the 80's sucked, and still sucks. it just isn't funny.. guess these guys had a role in that.
So. If you didn’t know who these guys were, then you obviously don’t watch SNL in the last decade+, and if you aren’t watching it, then how could you opine that it sucks?
@@cedarwings82 their ratings have always been shit the last 15yrs.. only propaganda keeps em goin by this point. And ofc, I don't watch it.. not since Murray, aykroyd, Murphy. When the good ones left, the show should've ended. Bringing in "writers", who's shit was never funny, was and still is, just gasping for air to stay a float. Which if not for being a Dem led show for propaganda, it would've sank long ago.
When one only sees the world in politics that must be what the person thought of when they came up with the phrase "hell on earth" bc you must be miserable and paranoid. Such sensitive snowflakes

Michael Che kills it on the end of the year/season special where they write each others jokes. Love it when Scarlett Johansson makes an appearance
Great couple. Scarlett just radiates now.
Lorne!🤭 Dennis Miller, 1-liners!😂 "Broken bat single!"🤣🤣 I'm dead!😂😵
"Get em next time" is the all-time best insult from the sandlot to the round table. It's always funny
I'm starting to believe that my inner voice is Dana Carvey's Dennis Miller!😂"Christ sake, Carvey!"😄
Right?! Like not Dennis Miller, but Dana's Dennis Miller. I totally agree.
Omg 2 massive snl duos, I hope my phone doesn't melt from all the energico!

Definitely would be cool to see video . But it's still a podcast I look forwarding to hearing every week
I was waiting for this one.

Great podcast. Che’s voice is mesmerizing, and Jost’s laugh is genuinely fun!
Prime example of "that movie was funny but I can't remember the plot:" Dirty Work.
03:08 Brian Scolaro is the comedian Colin is talking about. Very funny and underrated guy!
You didn't really give them time to talk. Plus their mics were a little iffy

Holy poop emoji! I missed a few of those, but thanks to you, I have the tools I need to address my real issues.
Forgot the original Chevy has been on the show too.

And his parents were both teachers. They both a lot of stuff wrong..general knowledge, facts about their guests, pop culture...

Video please. It's 2024.
It's not a true FOTW episode until Dana says "in the pocket" and "inside baseball." It's sorta comforting knowing you'll hear it. Love ya, Dana!
The repetition is getting annoying to me. Does he have to ask everyone where's your headspace?
And pretending he's kidding when he asks everyones' net worth or how much they made on a project.
@bossfan49 Personally I just love Dana ❤️
Someone explain this: “Though you’d be angry too if your boyfriend was jalapeño business.”
Say "japaleno" like "all up in yo". It's a super lame joke. "Hall-up-pen-yo business".
We don’t want video
❤❤❤
Who’s gonna stick around? Nirvana … no 😂😂
Dana saying “HEIGHTH” is heartbreaking….. 🤦♂️
Thought it was just me.

Video would be cool
Charles Rocket did Weekend Update for a very short time. Hey! Let's call him. I'm sure he would take a stab at it and be as sharp as a knife.
And, bring back Don Pardo, Buck Henry, and Gilbert Gottfried.
Dana, stop talking about "headspace".
Thing I never want to hear again, Dana saying he has no brand , personality. So many levels but it made my ears upset
No video????!! THE WORST
david: can you do an absurd sketch where Donald Trump talks intellegently?
Too much leftist bias on SNL over the years
Corporate establishment dogma
At least try to skewer both sides
