Shouldn't that jar be preheated before pouring boiling water in? Otherwise it may crack, spreading boiling water and bits of glass all over the worktop.
This is actually a really good point that should be mentioned. You should rinse the jar in hot water first to reduce the possibility of thermal shock. Pinned.
Ee by gum lad! That takes me back to the 1940s when my gran used to make black strap toffee the same way! While it was still hot and runny she used to pour it into little baking trays to make toffee cakes when it hardened. (there was rationing at the time so sugar was scarce. Dont ask where she got it BUT my dad and three uncles were all in the merchant navy and us northeasterners HAVE WAYS.!!!! REGARDS walter from stockton.
I like water. I'm mostly made of it, after all. If I didn't, that would imply some self-esteem issues. If I didn't like myself and I was boiling, I'd have some self-esteam issues
Water gets two thumbs up from me. I love not wasting away into a gross human raisin. Love a bath or a nice clear pool. Can do without the dark murky bodies personally, but realize theyre necessary.
Me too. It's so full of itself. Especially mineral water, smarmy poser just because it gets served in restaurants. I reckon if you look into its background you'll find out it came from a tap and just went through a Brita filter. Everything is filtered these days, you can't trust anything anymore. Especially water.

@@TheTeessideChef Wow, my first pinned comment! haha
For what it's worth, I sterilise jars by cooking them in the pressure cooker for 10 minutes. Maybe overkill but it's thorough.

I like water so much that I don't think that I could live without it!
Water is love, water is life.

Water is excellent. You can use it to make black treacle.
I like water

I always drink water by the splash. In whisky.
I love water. It’s an essential part of making my alcohol 😂
Water is very important to me ... can't make beer without it
