I'm not exaggerating when I say this, this not an impulsive reaction cause I've had 2 years to think about it, but The End of the F***ing World might quiet possibly be the greatest Y/A show of all time. It is amazingly well-written, the romance isn't sappy or forced, it is witty without being obnoxious, it is dark without being overbearingly cynical, and it has the exact dosage of gallows humor without turning into camp. My only pet peeve is they should've had the courage to get rid of James for good, but it's a Y/A show after all, you can't have everything, they need something for the shippers. The producers probably pressured them too to keep the character.
Honestly the part about "it was a perfect love story, a perfect tragedy, and then i lived" is such a funny twist imo. I thought they would kill James off for sure, i am so glad they didn't. season 2 was amazing
The open ending was excellent but their happy ending in S2 was perfect, they complemented each other so well it is hard to imagine James without Alyssa and vice versa. Besides, if James hadn't lived, Alyssa would not have been able to tackle Bonnie to the ground alone though lol
H OC if they make a season 3 i think a great arc would be one of them dying and the other going on a Bonnie like revenge trip. It would bring back the pursuit theme, it could add a lot more drama and one could hallucinate the other, and add to the shows themes about grief. Also Bonnie could be brought back like they talk in prison about losing partners. if it were Alyssa to die James can be like “it should’ve been me at the beach, deal with everyone he has dying and no one left” and if it were James to die Alyssa could keep getting trapped in her memories, hardly live in the moment, blinded by sadness and rage. Just my ideas

@@alejandroterzado2068 some times they add things like that into shows because the tattoos or scars are real & it's easier to make a thing about it rather than act like its nothing it also creates plausible content, like on orange is the new black the small women with a scar on her neck is actually a burn victim in real life & it's a real scar
