The choose between relic shield and sickle should be always decided by match up for enchanters/mages supports, imho.
Sona have a great Q range, but if she's against heavy poke lane, you better to switch to relic. Sona is free gold for jungler/midlaner if she have 50% HP.
Don't remember exactly, but isn't she also have lowest base HP stats?

I've been a Sona main since release with 69% Winr ate on diamond but this season, I stopped playing her because I feel like she's lacking compared to other enchanters... but with this, my confidence in playing her came back and hopefully I could climb ranked games with her again. @@yellow_flash813 not everybody has played moba for years. When I first started when wild rift first launched I knew nothing about mobas, and it took a long time become a great player. Besides, why would it be sad? It’s just a video game

I actually thought sona was a bad support but I tried her earlier the Heal was so OP. She is currently my second main (:! Thank you for making this video!
Sona is bad supp, when the team is bad. She's like Kayle but in support role, so if the game doomed before her powerspikes, she don't have high chances to win. You need good ADC who at least understand that he playing with Sona, cause ADC support you more than you him, lol. But still my personal advice: don't be passive Sona if you can handle a little aggressive playstyle. Passive Sona is just 1vs3 for your ADC and 100% losing lane.
Another thing, Sona hates when teammates stacking on her. Good teammates knows that they can simply "touch" edges of your aura to get buffs. They know that stacking on you will give enemy chance to kill Sona and whole team with ults (Brand, Ori, Veigar, Zyra, Neeko always abusing it). Do you noticed what your teammates usually do when you use auras?
Also, she's a more a shielder supp, than healer. If your enemies will buy antiheal you can even don't notice it. But if they'll buy serpent fang you will have hard time. If they'll buy both antiheal and antishield you lose like 70% of your power.
If your team will buy spirit visage as 3rd ir 4th item then they really know how Sona works and when she's gets her first powerspike.
So, she's great in right hands. She's OP in right hands with good team.

@@howdidigethere5518 the thing with soraka tho she counter aggressive playstyle the more aggressive the more she thrives she can outsustain and outtrade all enchanters and easily abuse tank sp. Sona on the other hand 😅 she needs to scale to be useful and that's kinda bad for sp.

Sonas weaknesses are early game and being squishy. Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t. The scaling on her heal is only 25%, even fully stacked the spectral sickle is less gold efficient than relic shield. If you build relic shield plus adaptive carapace rune, it is a 500 gold value (150 hp=ruby crystal) as opposed to sickle which only grants 12 ap which is about a 250 gold value. The scaling on the heal that relic shield grants is stronger than a fully stacked sickle. 25% of 40 is only 10 so you’re getting a lesser value on the heal to yourself than what relic shield would give which is a max of 65. If the opponent buys grievous wounds then it makes the healing from the extra ap sickle gives even less efficient. It takes 13 minutes for conditioning to give the same resistance value that carapace gives to start the game minus the hp. Sona has one of the weakest health pools in the game lvl 1 at 530 hp so hp items are very good especially to survive the early game. Because of this I still recommend relic shield and carapace to most folks unless you’re a gigachad on sona like Hells. Hope this helps, love from California!

I've been getting MVPs and S on Sona ever since I you posted this video. Because of the explanation of her passive at first was so hard to understand for a first timer. But ever since u explained it made my game alot more supportive especially on teamfight. My team doesn't die because of how fast they move and the heal i give, basically making them almost immortal.

I love Sona. She's where I started and still my favorite support to play. As awesome as she is though, I've found that no amount of healing/shielding, buffing, and speeding of your allies will win the match when your allies are just dog doodoo.
Lately I've been leaning more towards "hard carry supports". Cause I'm not a superb player or anything, but Damn some of these folks on WR are just awful.

I find Sona needs a decent team. I've switch to relic shield for most of my supports cause I find it much better in Laning phase. And you can get to full shield super fast. The one thing I don't like about Sona is her ult. They need to make it better.
Ye honestly, her skills are all long range because well shes squishy and needs to be behind everyone, but for her ult it requires you to get closer and leaves you vulnerable. Since her ult only stuns for like 1 second, youll most likely die once the the stun is gone, unless youre team goes in and you can escape, but usually your team wont go in immediately.

I'm the rank 1-2 sona and that build you said what the heck is that is actually working. Lemme explain: you said it yourself sona could carry. Soo if you're dead then the whole team will die which is why that build could make you tank for the team for a bit and you won't get one shot by anyone.
