0:27 BROKEN UP in 2009. It WAS the longest when it existed though - under most of it's names. It was the Seawise Giant when it was extended to become THE largest ship that has ever been. Fully loaded displacement EVEN WHEN BUILT was more like *500,000* tons, and after it's extension over 600,000 tons. WAY WAY OFF on that figure - it would have likely had an EMPTY displacement of 74,000 tons or so. And it was her DRAFT that kept her out of the English Channel, not the length or width - she was deeper when loaded than some spots in the Channel, much like ANY of the largest Oil Tankers ever (and there might be some container ships today with the SAME issue at FULL load or close). It's possible she was STILL PARTLY ABOVE WATER when she was sunk in the Straits of Hormuz (which is NOT "the bottom of the ocean").
I don't think it's the WWII Enterprise that you wanted to cite here, but rather the post-WWII Enterprise, the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. That was longer than it's WWII predecessor. Just recently decommissioned.
Thumbnail ship guys is red from rust not paint haha I have seen tons of oil off shore platforms still producing and processing and deck has huge rust holes in it and pipes barley hanging on and rusted off lol. When the oil plat form your going to is red your stomach sinks knowing it's a crappy one that's 10-15 years old and destroyed but still working
