His extra weight also allowed him to be a better defender and rebounder compared to 2016. 2021 steph also for me showed a level of self creation that steph was starting to show in 2018 more, as I think playing with KD, along with adding some muscle to himself allowed him to realize how to maximize the threat of his shot. 2016 steph showed the world just how near perfect basketball and a team can be along with how far ahead of their time the team was itself.
Also, he prides himself on launching end of quarter buzzer beaters frequently. I wonder what his percentages would be if he tried to protect his stats and not take them.
Steph's handles and footwork are top ten as well. If you don't understand how those factors add to his greatness, you don't fully comprehend Steph's greatness. Period.

Did you see what Steph did in the semi and final of the Olympic games? Steph is operating in a stratos no other player nears!!! Even at the world stage, every team mounts heavy guard on Steph... not even Lebron or KD is guarded with such details and measure!!! Steph is an ALIEN... Steph is the GOAT!!!!
@@christophercox936 36 is not old. Just getting out of his prime. Perhaps he still in his prime. Everyone is different. For example the way LeBron is playing i say he was still in his prime at 36.
Stephs efficiency combined with the insane shots he is willing to take is what's truly remarkable here. You just don't see guys that efficient who will also throw up hail marys at the end of quarters.
When people use the lame argument “If player X had the same green light as Steph…..”. It’s an indicator they have no clue about basketball. 1. They did have a green light. 2. If they tried to shoot half the shots Steph does, the degree of difficulty would result in the other players becoming completely inefficient. He’s a 1 of 1 and people need to accept that fact

Finally a video with the appropriate amount of flowers! No trying to put people in his lane who he is clearly better than, no trying to include other people and give them credit for his success, just pure, unadulterated and deserved curry glaze 😌 thank you
Big part of this video is the intangibles. He does all this while changing the entire defensive scheme of the opposing team, running 3 miles a game, and regularly drawing triple teams... And he's 6'3. If that. No generic lottery to help out, no crying to the refs for a bailout, just hard work. Underrated defense at his size. Fuck a shooter, he's the greatest basketball player to ever touch a ball, and everyone else don't notice cuz he isn't 6'9
Bro I agree 1000% Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, the greatest point guard of all time, and it's about damn time the world realizes that he might be the greatest player of all time.
@@1nv4d3r5 he's also an injured player. Had ankle injuries since college. He's playing with a handicap. He's criminally underrated. People only want to bring up his shooting. It's low-key disrespectful, but he's paid so ion know if it matters
curry is an INSANE player don't get me wrong, he's absolutely top 10 by this point in this career and as a curry fan, although i didn't do much research on it, I'd say he has a case for 7-6-5. But then? Would you put curry ahead of Kareem, of Lebron, or even of THE michael jordan? Sure thing, it's REALLY EASY to say "hey but look! my player did ..... while your player was trash at ....." but the truth is that's such a casual argument for any ranking conversations. It doesn't factor in anything, you're just basically pointing out a strength of your player, while comparing it to some random weakness of the other player, and using that as a mean to justify your position. Doesn't work! So, I will say it clearly, Steph is absolutely the greatest shooter of all time, but I am not so sure about the greatest PG of all time, Magic was an unbelievable monster and if you guys went ahead and took a deep look on his career, you'd understand why the debate is very active today. And when it comes to greatest player of all time? No way. Perhaps the most efficient! Perhaps one of the most skilled by a MILESHOT alongside monsters like 7' ball handling sharp shooter KD, or Kyrie, or wtv! He has quite the accolades and titles, but so does pretty much everyone else on the very higher end of the NBA basketball history. He might also be one of the bests at the "eye test"! Seeing Curry catch on fire is an absolute monumental thing, and even besides that, he CLEARLY has something more when you simply watch him. But whether it's in terms of accolades, in terms of advanced statistics, I believe he's close, but not better, than some names on the all-time list.
@@xxneweraxx7422 I respect what you say, but yes. I'm putting curry over Jordan. I'm putting curry over every player to do it. I'm not a curry fan, either. I'm a d-rose fan and that will never change. That said things about curry is I'm not comparing his strengths to sometimes weaknesses, but the other way around. Look what he did Through his weakness. His numbers are only where they are because of his height and weight and being doubled and triple teamed every game. Everyone talking about he's the best shooter but that shot chart comes off the dribble because he's being physically hounded more than any other player, and still putting those numbers. He has more intangibles than any other to do it period, and he's doing it all at 6'3. He changed the game more than WILT. If we didn't change the game purely for him, to deal with him, he would be undisputed number one player of all time right now. That wasn't even true for mj. We only were able to do this because he's short. We got bailed out because he wasn't 3 inches taller
@@xxneweraxx7422 I wanna start by saying I appreciate the thoroughness and thought in your argument, I also don't know if you're replying to me or @AharonNiziri but if you're replying to me, but in my case, I said that he might be the GOAT, I absolutely put him above Kareem and Lebron, MJ idk, I think the goat debate needs to move away from LeBron v Jordan and something more like Curry v Jordan. I'ma go through why I think Curry is better than everyone u mentioned barring MJ and then give my argument for that as well. My argument for Curry > Kareem: Kareem was an incredible player, but he was simply lucky, he was a 7'2 center, in a shorter league, with an unguardable move in a relatively unskilled era. He only won while literally playing with the greatest point guard of all time, TWICE, and then playing on the original superteam. Curry on the hand, is incredibly unlucky, suffering many injuries, yet still perfecting his craft of the three ball. He couldn't be guarded, but not because of his height, or his signature move which abused his height, or superior teammates drawing away his defense, but because he was just TOO good to be guarded. He has incredible handles, footwork, passing vision, body control, finishing, and shooting of course. Defenses threw man to man, double teams, triple teams, and even quadruple teams at this man, usually as soon as he crosses half court, THIS HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE. So despite all the odds, Curry still managed to achieve incredible feats, and that's just a skill vs skill comparison. Moving on to accolades, Kareem: 6 Chips, 6 MVPS, 2 FMVPS and 2 Scoring titles. Curry: 4 Chips, 2 MVPs, including the ONLY EVER UNANIMOUS MVP. 1 FMVP (I know how this sounds but should be 4 and at the minimum 2 but whatever) and 2 Scoring titles. At face value, kareem is better, but if we really dissect the championships, the mvps, and everything else, you can see that Kareem won in Milwaukee, alongside, at the time, the greatest point guard of all time, winning against the Baltimore Bullets led by Wes Unseld, a team with a 42-40 record, barely above 500. then there are the 5 "showtime lakers" championships, which, although are impressive, you can see the theme, an older kareem, alongside the young magic johnson, who would become the greatest point guard of all time, for a while, and four other hall of fame players while on the lakers. His two most prominent teammates, Magic and James Worthy are both NBA Top 75. In 1980 and 82, they went up against the Philidelphia 76ers, led by Dr J. The only top 75-er on his team, taking them to 6 both times, the next season, after the 76ers added another top 75 player, in Moses Malone, they SWEPT the showtime lakers. Then there was the impressive 3-peat against the celtics and pistons, both alltime great teams, putting up great fights taking the showtime lakers to 7, barring 1987, where it was a 6 game series. Curry on the otherhand, has only had one top 75 player of all time on his team, that being Kevin Durant, in which Curry has one two champion ships without and two with, Going up against LeBron James, who is arguably the GOAT, 3/4 times. Beating him with a record of 3-1, ONE OF WHICH was won WITHOUT KD and a second time without KD they lost up 3-1 which, is a massive blemish in curry's legacy, but is still impressive nonetheless. So in summary, Curry has won 4 titles to Kareems 6, but while Curry has had only one top 75 teammate and won twice without him, Kareem had a total of 3 and was unable to win without at least one, and the only time he won with Oscar was against a 42-40 team, losing every other time, until Magic showed up, and won FMVP in his rookie year, PLAYING CENTER IN STEAD OF KAREEM, all be it not for the whole series but it still goes to show. Kareem has won the most MVPS ever, which is impressive, but Curry has won the only Unanimous MVP which I find even more impressive, as well as another MVP and has the record for the most wins in a regular season, 73-9, while being the only ever unanimous MVP and only NBA Top 75 player on his team. I would like to make the case that Curry deserves a minimum of two FMVPS which would tie Kareems, the voters literally admitted they chose wrong, so thats that, and in retrospect, Curry was better than KD, always has been and always will be, I think when you look at some of the photographs, showing Curry handling the ball, with 4 defenders on him, leaving KD COMPLETELY WIDE OPEN, you start to comprehend that Curry didn't win beacuse of KD, KD won because of Curry. I would also like to point out that Curry is a home grown superstar, never switched teams, never chased rings, he just made due with what he had and made his teammates better, eventually attracting other superstars to join him. The only other GOAT candidates this is true for is Kobe and Jordan, but in jordans case, he never had a superstar join his team, unless you count Rodman. My argument for Curry > LeBron: 3-1, beat him without KD and beat him with KD, it's not very thorough but honestly, it's enough. Curry, Klay and Draymond, beat LeBron Kyrie and Kevin Love and Vice Versa, the KD came, made it a bit unfair but lets not pretend LeBron wasn't on superteams too, I mean the 2011 finals is enough to say LeBron isn't the goat. Curry was drafted, and hampered by injuries for years, He's played 6 years less and still has an almost equal assortment of accolades, Steph has the all-time three record, Bron has the all-time points record, they each has 4 chips, Unanimous and regular mvp vs 4 mvps, homegrown team vs superteam chaser. It's very close but, if you look at just their matchups, both in their prime, theres a clear winner and a clear loser. As for Curry vs MJ, I don't have a great argument nor enough time but I genuinely believe these are the two closest player we have in terms of skill, influence, sheer greatness and even careers in a way. I look forward for the day we begin to have MJ vs Curry debates and not MJ vs Bron debates. and side note CURRY STILL AIN'T DONE, he's got another 3-4 years and he's not slowing down, so when he retires and we have a full cabinet of stephs accolades, we can come back and settle this but as of right now, he is very much a POTENTIAL GOAT.
I think the media narratives are a big reason Steph has taken this long to receive his flowers. The Iggy FMVP is a disgrace, the 16 loss where no one mentions they were injured and now he's a choker cause "I want Iguodola". The KD years where he was the main objective for the opposing head coach, yet KD gets all the credit. Every step of the way Steph was belittled. The only credit ever given to him was for his shooting, but you'd have to be an idiot to not admit that. Even when he finally got FMVP in 22, people are using 1/4 against him. None of this ever worked without the Chef. Underrated is an understatement. He had to take and take and take... and take some more. Every other guy even remotely near him all time has tenfold the expectations coming into the league. People love the underdog until it became the small guy in underarmor. "What are they gonna say now", sadly, they will always find something for Steph. Shoutout to the goat pg for showing out in the Olympics.
This was Excellent! And im going to bring it home: Steph is a transcendent player, a player with multiple strengths, a few weaknesses, and championships to tie it all together. A. He is the best shooter alive. Nobody combines his off-the-dribble shooting (players like Dame, Kyrie, Kemba are close but worse percentages on fewer shots from 3 per game) with his catch-and-shoot shooting. His catch-and-shoot-shooting is as good as or near Klay, Korver, Redick, Harris, Bogdanovic, etc. but none of those players has the handles to create shots or the range to hit from 35 feet. B. His handle. He has top-3 handles. He can pull up from anywhere, and if you play up on him too much, he can crossover and get to the rim. He can create separation from defenders using his behind the back and between his legs dribble. He is very good at weaving between traffic as well on a fast break C. His finishing ability. Steph’s percentage at the rim was 63% iirc in 2019, when he was healthy. That trailed three centers (Drummond, DeAndre Jordan, and someone else I’m forgetting) and LeBron. He was higher than Kyrie, who many consider the best finisher in basketball. In terms of points per drive, he is one of only 5 players who has averaged over 1.2 points per drive more than once (him, LeBron, KD, Harden, Kawhi). If you didn’t notice, each one of them is bigger and stronger than Steph. D. His efficiency. Steph Curry might be the most efficient scorer of all time. He takes the highest percentage shots (3’s, paint, free throws) and he makes them all better than anyone. Steph has the highest career efg% for a non big at 58.1%. In the playoffs, he has a efg of 55% which is higher than MJ, KD, and LeBron. He has the highest ts% for any non big man (not counting Cedric Maxwell because he was a role player and not the guy) at 62.3%. He has the highest ft% of all time at around 91%. He hasn’t missed a ft in the 4th quarter of the NBA finals since 2016. That’s extraordinary. E. His off-ball movement. This is something usually unseen by people. Steph might be the best off-ball star ever. He is up there with Bird, Allen, and his teammate Klay who is a wizard off-ball. Steph runs off screens like nuts and unlike Harden or Dame who pass and stand still, Steph starts running. Not only does this wear out the defense, they get hit running into screens at that speed. And with Steph’s lightning quick release, he only needs a few feet to take a shot. He runs floppy screens, he runs elevator screens, he sets fake screens and then gets wide open at the wing. He excels in PnR situations, as well as dribble handoffs. He is the only superstar outside of maybe KD who is just as effective on ball as he is off ball. F. His gravity and spacing. When a man can shoot from so far out, you have to play him up. But he will use his handles and shiftiness to drive past you and hit you with a razzle-dazzle layup or some floater. The whole floor gets stretched out to protect his deep 3. It’s common sense. Durant didn’t get doubled when he played there? Why? Not because he didn’t require one. The man is a matchup nightmare. But because you can’t leave Steph. Steph might shoot 0-12 from 3 but not a single defender would let him shoot the next 3 wide open. His gravity allows his teammates to excel and the spacing he provides allows his teammates to have space to work (whether it was KD iso on the block or Draymond running point forward). G. His passing. Steph is not a transcendent passer but he is a good enough passer that if you want him to get 10 assists, he can. In PnR or PnP situations, he is fabulous throwing lobs to the bigs or kicking it out the shooter in the corner. He gets a bit too confident sometimes and is a bit careless with the ball (Game 7 2016 Finals costly turnover) which is why is Assist to Turnover ratio isn’t the best (somewhere around 2:1). But he is a pretty good passer as well. In 2013 when he played the point under Coach Jackson he avg 9.5 asst. Per Game. H. His attitude. He is selfless, he has no ego, he only cares about winning, he is a leader in the locker room, he is a nice guy, he sets an example for his teammates, and he is very respectful. Steph usually never swears or makes rude remarks to reporters. I don’t recall a time Steph ever walked out of a press conference the way LeBron and Giannis have. Not many people are selfless enough that they would give up averaging 30 points per game and competing for MVPs to taking a backseat to KD and letting him have the shine. F. His work ethic. He works hard. He wasn’t the biggest or the strongest or the most athletic or the fastest. But Steph has worked on his craft to the point that he is one of the most skilled player ever. Steph is not just good, he is a transcendent player. And he is amazing to watch. Box office. He won Two! not one but Two Championships without a Top Seventy Five player! Let that sink in! He's not only broken some of Wilt's records(remember he played for the Warriors too) but he has some of his own that no one will touch! And he's still playing, so I repeat, what are they going to say if he wins six chips!? No one wants to answer that. Because right now he's the greatest winner percentage wise ever! His winning impact is greater than anyone and it's fact! photos.app.goo.gl/R9ss7kvzmxZCnxL86
@@lynchone117 Yea, the winning impact is undeniable. Simply looking at him, he isnt LeBron, but neither is any other top 15 player outside of Jordan. There is no other player all time that actually competed with a goat contender for an era. Only Steph. Also, for the non top 75 point, Kobe and Steph have pulled off the same feat (both won twice). Duncan did it 3 times, which is impressive. These guys are easily top 7 all time. LeBron and Hakeem both did it once. If you want to stretch it past that 75 team, Pau, Kyrie and Manu are better than Draymond (I consider him better than Klay all time). Props to Hakeem, his #2 in 94 was Sam Cassell, arguably the worst #2 ever. The next year he had Clyde Drexler though. Ironically, Andrew Wiggins and Andre Iguodola are also in the worse #2 ever convo. So really only Steph has done it twice in the genuine sense, and had some of the worst talent while doing it. Its weird cause Klay/Draymond hadnt peaked yet in 2015 and in 2022 they were on the decline. Steph's hardest titles his main core werent at their best. Are Klay/Draymond even top 100 all time? 150? In the dynastic sense, Draymond and Klay are the worst core by far. Kareem/Magic Worthy Cooper, Bird Johnson McHale Maxwell Parish, Duncan Manu Parker, Jordan Pippen Rodman, Shaq/Kobe (anyone cause that duo is nasty). Sidebar, Bird and Magic has some of the most stacked teams ever. Yet Magic is magically in top 5 convos.

i've watched many stats sheet of curry and other players but damn these ones are really new to me. 60% true percentage is crazy. He also has this high tpp while making the toughest shots in nba, compared to Klay who has an easier catch-and-shoot threes
As a Dub fan, I will never take Steph for granted. My team was a laughing stock before he blossomed into the superstar he is today. We will never see a player quite like him, and it's not just his outside shooting he's a master at attacking the rim with layups as well. Complete package
@HypocritesExposd absolutely agreed. We basically won 20 games for a couple seasons before Steph git drafted. Even during his rookie year I think we won like 27 games
Steph during the regular season sees double teams almost if not more than Luka. Doesn't have a real big man, so penetrating the inside to open his shot up is just harder. And has an entire organization who mishandles his twilight years. Steph will never get enough credit.

It's even more incredible when you put together a point in his early career with multiple ankle injuries on a non winning team... almost everyone was counting this man out... now best shooter, top 10 dribbler and point guard, and had seasons that he was more efficient in the pain than LeBron
Admit it or not, despite the many critics of Curry, his giant contribution and legacy in the game of basketball are undeniable and firmly established. Instead of focusing on criticism, let's not overlook the greatness demonstrated by the GOAT shooter. Let's just enjoy the moment. Only a fool would say that Curry is not in the top five.
As a Warriors fan for 20+ years, it's amazing that we got to see him all those years. We have been so lucky. He is such a great person. Nothing bad around him ever. But watching this, it puts some perspective to what we have been watching for all those years. We kind of take it for granted but when you see the numbers and the gap between him and the rest, it's mind bugling, I know we won't have him forever and whenever he decides to retire, we will miss him but we will enjoy the last few years because, like he has shown during the Olympics, he still has a lot in tank.
They talked at the beginning of his career about how sure he'll make a bunch, but you can't keep up that volume with a high efficency. Well that first graph shows how much of an anomaly he is. 43% with over 3200 and he's still got plenty of seasons left in the tank.
It's crazy that everyone recognizes that he is the greatest shooter ever, but not the GOAT. HE'S LITERALLY THE GREATEST PLAYER TO PUT THE BALL IN THE BASKET. That's one of the biggest objectives of the game, if not the biggest!
Curry being in another galaxy with the 10+ 3's made stat is actually fucking insane...the streak is truly a record I genuinely dont think we'll ever see broken period...The game is only going to get better, with Curry being the revolutionizer of the 3 pt shot defense against it is only going to get better...With 3's becoming more common we just need someone with longevity and decent efficiency/accuracy to break LeBrons all time point record...but curry's streak??? yeah that's never going to be done again...

1 thing you failed to mention in this video - compared to his rivals Curry does many of these thing in lesser minutes. Some games were so dominant he just sat in 4th quarter. If he wanted to stat pad he would have even more 10+ 3P games, better ppg etc. LBJ is making his averages in 3.5+ minutes more per game. We saw recently, and many times before, what can Curry do in 3 minutes.. People underestimate this factor so often it's simply bad. PER36 boosts Curry's stats instead of lowering them.
And he did all that while constantly being the focus of defenders, often double or triple teamed. Creating his own space while being mugged behind the arc.
What impresses me about Steph, is his unwavering self belief. In the group games during the Olympics, he was by his own standards, very poor and not getting much buckets. In and interview, when asked about his poor shooting, he said: I just keep practicing, knowing that the floodgates will open. Cool and calm as you like. And, boy, did the floodgates open! 😮

He’s a 1 of 1 and people need to accept that fact

much love brother thank you
Big part of this video is the intangibles.
Bro I agree 1000%
Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, the greatest point guard of all time, and it's about damn time the world realizes that he might be the greatest player of all time.
This! Bravo 👏
This was Excellent! And im going to bring it home:
Steph is a transcendent player, a player with multiple strengths, a few weaknesses, and championships to tie it all together.
He is very good at weaving between traffic as well on a fast break

@@lynchone117 yes! And haters will never admit any of this 💯
@@lynchone117 Yea, the winning impact is undeniable.

Curry is the most skilled baller in history
no one in the history of has ever been able to accomplish what he has done at 6'2" or come even remotely close. If he was 6'6" he would be #1 on everyone's list because he would have been literally unstoppable. But he wasn't 6'6" (and he was still unstoppable). So yes. It took skill. Unbelievable natural talent that will be very difficult to replicate in several lifetimes.
this "most skilled baller" belongs to Kyrie Irving honestly speaking, Curry only excels in shooting, nonetheless handles and finishes is obviously Kyrie hands down, we ain't talking rings here, its just skills vs skills. And if you want to compared basketball players regarding to accomplishments and dominance then your GOAT is Bill Rusell, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar.
@cosmicreaverkassadin1143 wrong. Kyrie is the craftiest for sure, but it doesn't warp entire defenses like Stephen curry. Just stop with that nonsense. It's literally fucking retarded. Steph is a complete 3 level scorer and is the most talented basketball player to ever live. He's six foot fucking two and it took the league 10 years to catch up. Shut the fuck up

This is advertised as a GOAT shooter video but it’s a decent Case for GOAT period.

I’m so lucky to be born in the 90s. We’ve got to witness the best nba players of all time.
Greatest player of his generation.
Great timing after the 2 performances he just had in the semis and final lmao
haha I got lucky
43% with over 3200 and he's still got plenty of seasons left in the tank.
this channel gonna blow up, keep up the good work
It's crazy that everyone recognizes that he is the greatest shooter ever, but not the GOAT. HE'S LITERALLY THE GREATEST PLAYER TO PUT THE BALL IN THE BASKET. That's one of the biggest objectives of the game, if not the biggest!
This man is not human…

@@Post2k69 love you to bro 🐐🫡
It’s crazy how you just reuploaded a jimmy high roller video and it’s not taken down.
And he did all that while constantly being the focus of defenders, often double or triple teamed. Creating his own space while being mugged behind the arc.
That's why curry is my goat👆🏻
you deserve wayyyy more subs!! Editing and voiceover was soooo elite!
appreciate that homie :) we're on the way up
Steph da goat ❤️
Bro you produce high quality videos.. keep it up
absolutely bro thank you :)
Such insane quality. Like finding a diamond in a gold mine.
means a lot man thank you :)
Steph is the Goat! Best guy at ball in basket, in a game where you put ball in basket...simple
All this being the most guarded nba player ever.
Imagine if Steph played just half his out games, imaging how much more crazy his stats would be.
Steph had an 0 for in the Olympics. He was still adjusting and boy did he.
Goat indeed!! Great video by the way
This video is amazing! Where do you get your data from? Do you use an API? I’m curious as I’m a data engineer/analyst
He is the Greatest of All Time ❤
You’d expect someone so efficient at shooting the ball take only the easiest shots but oh how wrong you would be and that’s why I love the guy
Where can I see that graph again? It's very declarative in this discussion. Applause!!🤘🏀📶🌎
Please post a link, or show it longer.. Or, ugh. I'll have to recreate it. Awesome!!
🤟👀
⛹
Steph is the reason I love basketball 🏀 ❤
same bro
I like your jimmy highroller vibes
Video is so good
9:11 He made a mistake saying he would be 3rd all time when he would be 2nd if that was his only season played, only behind Klay
