I ordered 50 again this year for shop
It’s a great system and so cheap to operate with a new belt every 4/5 years or longer

    Thanks for the video.
    One question and one suggestion.
Question: When I took off my bearing housing, I could not remove the bearings from the shaft. They spin freely but just didn't come off. How did you remove?
Suggestion: I would suggest instead of using your coat hanger for the idler spring, use a 3 foot long piece of weed trimmer line. Loop and feed through hole and hook the spring. Then wrap the 2 ends around your hand and pull spring to seated position. Once seated, let one end go and pull the other out. No need for the screwdriver afterwards 👍

simple, put the bolt back in the shaft ( without the washer ) and use a fitted socket for the hammer to tap the shaft out.
      you are welcome .

This was my issue. Thought it was the Transmission belt, but took the bearings out and they were shot. My mower one day just stopped and was squealing and smoking from the front.

Hi Adam. Thanks for watching. Unbelievable how chewed up those bearings can get and work to the end. Sometimes it was like a bucking bronco taking off. Have a great day.

Need a video of how to get the bearings off variable speed pulley shaft. Bearings stuck on variable speed pulley shaft after removing bearing cup

I removed the bearings from mine 2 days ago. No video because it would have been full of curse words! I had to cut them off the shaft with a cut off wheel. Not an easy job when the inner race is stuck on the shaft. BTW, Buy quality bearings from a reputable dealer. Lots of fake name brand bearings on the net. Don't get the ones from the manufacturer, either. They are cheap chinese junk that won't last.

@@pygmywarrior3 thank you. I bought a bearing puller on Amazon, and it's coming today. I have it lubricated well so hopefully it will come off with the bearing puller. I watched a few videos of people getting them off with a bearing puller

@@pygmywarrior3hey, can i have a couple of questions if you still alive and online? We have an almost similar bearing setup(mtd-pinto), want to change the bearings but the bolt with the washer head stuck veryverytight, do you loosen it clockwise or anti clockwise? If we cant loosen it we probably nee to cut it off to pull off the bearings, so we will see. The second one is. We try to replace it with oem bearings, but you said they are not that good, can you tell any brand names for good quality bearings?

    • @pygmywarrior3

@@norbertnagy5514 Best I remember you loosen it counterclockwise. Go to a bearing supply house like Bearings and Drives and get Timken, NTN, FAG, NSK, SKF or Koyo. All of those are top quality manufactures. If you don't have a local bearing supply, call Bearings and Drives and they can ship it to you.
Don't trust bearings from some places on the internet. They sell fake bearings in a box with the manufactures listed above. I worked in the bearing manufacturing business for 25 years and it is a big problem. The chinese fake everything.

The bolt that holds the variable speed pulley in place has gotten loose and fell out twice. Is the bolt supposed spin with the pulley or do I need some locktight or something.

The bolt that holds the pulley on somehow loosened and fell off in the middle of mowing my yard and the pully was just laying loose in there. Is that just bad luck or did I do something that somehow caused that?

I just ordered the bearings for my mower. Thanks for posting this video. What size socket did you use to hammer those bearings in please? Thanks.

    • @PsychicblvdMysticCharles
      @PsychicblvdMysticCharles  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi. It might have been a spark plug socket or similar. Just use one that fits around the edge of the bearing. If the hole is clean, it shouldn't need to much force, or lube to get them in. Thanks.

Is the bolt on the bottom of the variable speed pulley supposed to spin like the pulley when engaged. Because my bolt has worked its way loose two times now.
