Temperature-dependent equilibria involving aqueous transition metal ions and chloride ions

Aqueous solutions of iron(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) ions are saturated with sodium chloride, and placed in an ice bath and a boiling water bath. The colors of the solutions change as the temperatures change and shift the solution equilibria.
