Good video. I have an upcoming interview with a big tech company and decided to get this product. I just started but so far this is better than me doing Leetcode on my own like I tried last time. The video explanations are very helpful even though I don't really know Python (I do Swift/iOS dev mostly). Hopefully I can land my dream job from this.

I have started learning DSA but I feel overwhelmed that I can’t solve some problems without looking at solutions after 30-40 mins. But I will keep pushing on.

Nice review bro... someone with CS background will easily get through with multiple online resources but someone without a CS or engineering background will actually be able to get through with the USP of Algoexpert which is having a structured platform to learn.
Gives a good foundation for what to learn more or search on cos the internet is so filled with resources.

    • @lucaslosarcos1897

Hi Simon, I'm a complete beginner in terms of algorithms and data structures, so, do you recommend me the algoexpert course?

    • @simondolapo1567
      @simondolapo1567 ปีที่แล้ว

@@lucaslosarcos1897 Algoexpert is nice but don't do it yet bro as a beginner...The crash course on datastructures is just a short explanation of the theory behind the several datastructures. Each video in the crash course is btw 7-20mins.
So you see why I said you should wait...
Algoexpert is mainly for solving DSA questions like Leetcode but probably better organized for someone new to CSC since leetcode is too broad and you might get lost as a beginner plus Algoexpert gives a detailed solution in python only to each question you confront on the website.
If you're completely new to DSA: here's my advise before purchasing Algoexpert...
If you love video courses, -> take *coding Ninja DSA course in python* , it also has the one for *Java(Advanced DSA) & I guess one for c++ also.*
It teaches you the various datastructures & algorithms well explained plus the various operations done on the Datastructures.
Or take another popular one like the *self paced Geeks for Geeks DSA course*- the language though is in C++
But if you understand the theory behind the explanations given then you should be able to write the codes in your OOP preferred language.
Then if you love books, someone recommended
*1) computer science distilled (simple introduction)*,
      followed by
*2) Grokking algorithms (deeper than the 1st book)*,
      followed by
*3) Introduction to algorithms (which has more depth than the previous mentioned books.
Then you can supplement your understanding if some things are still not clear with Google & TH-cam videos. (E.g Abdul bari datastructures & algorithms)
You can read those books in that order for things on DSA.
Personally, I'm using the video courses more so I can understand them quickly then alongside take some snippets of the books.
Though I'm still on 1st book.
I hope have been able to help out because I just started learning DSA 2months ago...
P.S - learn the DSA with your best OOP language or one you're comfortable with as a beginner so you can understand it once & for all and go on to solve questions in future

@@simondolapo1567 Thank you so much for the great explanation, one more question, do you know the zero to mastery, data structures and algorithms course?
The one that you can find in udemy?

The lack of the monthly subscription option makes me suspicious. Almost like they are not confident that after a month of trying them out one will see any value in their platform to renew the subscription or go for longer subscriptions.

I think clement does a good job but the fact he just adding product is not really what he should be focused.
he should focused on optimizing content . for instance , in my opinion , he should have a really good and depth algo and datastructure course with in and out since the platform focuses on prep for big companies.
the second thing , clement should focus on is have a solution video for any programming language. I know it is lot of work .
as backend engineer, I would rather I would rather see a solution implementing in java within a video instead of python even if I could figure out how to turn it from python to java.
have multiple product doesn't make a platform reliable like frontendexpert and mlexpert.
    thanks for this video

It's a shame that AlgoExepert is quite expensive, at least for me as salaries are not that high here where I come from. However, I think that Udemy, or even a book might help greatly. I have a question though(after the big text :D) . My story is that I found myself working in e-commerce and I want to make a switch. I chose Python, even though some of my friends were against it. I went through the fundamentals , functional and object oriented programming, planning to start the web side soon, as I made two websites couple of years ago and I thought maybe I could use some databases and try to make a project. There are not a lot of ML, AI or data science jobs here where I'm from, however, there are a lot of web jobs, mostly in other languages(Java, C# and JS), but there are some offers for Django and even Flask developers here and there. Microsoft is also present here, but I have no idea whether they have jobs for Python developers as I hear a lot of different stories. I'm just wondering would you think that Python is generally speaking a good idea/choice? Thanks in advance!

    • @logancope21
      @logancope21  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I mean I think there is definitely demand for python. Where I see it used the most at Microsoft is on the data science side of things. But generally once you learn one language you have the ability to pick up other ones. My employers aren't too concerned with the specific languages you know coming in.

    • @logancope21

That's a great question. If you're just going for a SWE I position then just AlgoExpert is enough. But if you're going for Senior (or even SWEE II) then I'd definitely recommend getting the systems design as well, that one was really good!
I also got ML expert, but admittedly, I didn't use it much so hard to say on that one.
