Yep! Although I do think that senior engineers who are super rusty and need to start from scratch again could use the extra help, plus systems expert is more useful for more senior engineers as well.

Man! You're nuts! The videos and the UI is the best thing about algoexpert. The UI has a modern great look, and the explanations gives you a detail view of the problem. Algoexpert got me in the mindset of explaining my thought process well by watching the long videos. Only thing I wish is that they had the problems categorized by problem solving patterns like two pointers, etc..
I actually think their UI is one of their biggest pros. I completely agree with the user page though, they should have a more personalized page for someone who's bought the platform.
I worked for big companies ( still work for them ). I not young anymore although I may reach the solution slower, I eventually will. I kind of find these interview's pointless. Being grinded on this stuff felt bit painful when I interviewed at certain places. Someone who is working full time for a company usually cannot find time to solve these kind of puzzles and will not able to compete with someone who is working on them dedicatedly. I think if I see someone with the right attitude and good work ethic I can train him to be a good engineer. But these kind of tests will help you get the job as per the current system.
Absolutely. I have seen so many candidates who are excelling at these so called "Leetcode" questions, but they struggle to death when working on an actual project. Experience can't beat any algo test. I agree to some point it is important to know if the candidate knows the data structures well, but there are other ways to test it.
@Xiaoran Meng : It is not that simple. Leet code does not prevent you from writing bad code. I am not against what Leet Code does, it is a great platform. What I am saying is a person who has practiced using leetcode stands a better chance at looking good at an interview. But that alone should not be the only thing to consider.

I don’t think it’s something that they want people to do (they aren’t actively pushing them to vlog and make content), but rather I think it’s just that engineers at the FAANG companies have more “credibility” in the youtube content space so people are more likely to view their videos, thus causing the youtube algorithm to push it even higher

I think it depends on how much javascript you know (the html/css is kind of irrelevant for what Algoexpert offers). If you don't have any project experience on your resume, then you're better off focusing on building out projects to get your resume approved by recruiters. If you already have a few projects on your resume, then you should purchase algoexpert and use their resources!

I currently updated my resume and LinkedIn to apply for a leap program at Microsoft at the end of September 2022 and would love to start preparing for technical interview I only have two months to prepare and could dedicate 3 to 4 hours each day and 8 hours each day on the weekend the weekend Please I am overwhelmed and really need your help on what is best way to prepare . Should I use books , videos or ?? Remember , i have no foundation of algo and datastructure. I heard that leap program range technical question is between easy and medium to pass . I'd say start from algoexpert and go straight to the questions! You should have sufficient knowledge where you don't need to go over basic data structures and algorithms.

It depends if you want to expand outside of front-end engineering! I'd say if you have some free time casually learn some python/java since it'd be helpful, but also know that when you start working at a new place often times you'll be asked to learn a new language/framework then (and this is expected). I wouldn't stress out about learning a new language, but if you have the time might as well!
You can expand out, but you can build a whole career off of Javascript and it's frameworks (React, Angular, and Node.js). The fact that you are getting professional experience is already huge.

Agreed. Coding interview questions are like: "Have you seen this problem before?", not "Can you think of a way to solve this problem?"

No, not really. It really covers basic data structures/alogrithms for general software engineering, nothing too deep related to firmware/embedded eng.

I think that the AlgoExpert hard and very hard questions are pretty comparable to LeetCode’s hard!
Many hard and very hard of algoexpert are equivalent to leetcode medium. Trust me I have used both algoexpert and leetcode
