I love the samplers too and that was so much fun to watch. Thank you so much! I like the brighter colors too, sometimes I am disappointed in what the pattern calls berry red and similar colors. Maybe I should just get a bunch of nice reds and pinks and peacock and keep them on hand to switch out. I also think sometimes maybe I shouldn’t buy the fancy floss for some of those ugly greens and black that really aren’t much different than DMC. Also they seem to get a lot more tangled up.

I loved your video! Very enabling..... The verse on the House in the Woodland sampler is from the end of “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost. I love the poem and had to memorize it in the 5th or 6th grade.❤️❤️
I enjoyed the stash parade! I used to have a pretty strict definition of "sampler." The more time I have spent learning about samplers, the more elastic my definition has had to become. If you look at Scarlet Letter's website, you can see the differences in samplers from different times and different places. I tend to love it all! ;)

It was fun being on the sidelines, drinking coffee, stitching...then putting down my needle and picking up pen and paper to write down some of your suggestions. Samplers are my favorite thing to stitch, however, now and then I like something small or different to lighten the mood, so to speak. You did a wonderful job explaining them and giving everyone lots of options and different folks to learn from. You are a natural teacher. Thanks for sharing such inspiration. JULIE!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry it took my so long to get around to watching this. It's been at the top of my list since you put it out lol. My guess with that one chart where the colors in the pictures didn't match is that because the pictures on the inside of the chart were taken at a different angle they probably weren't picking up as much light to show true colors. But yes, definitely check your flosses as you go! :D "I'm calling this a sampler because it has an alphabet." You cannot beat this logic lol. Gonna be honest....this video should've been longer lol. You thought we were getting bored, but I'm here to say that I felt like we were just getting started lol. That damn Gilmore Girls conversion gets me EVERY. DAMN. TIME. Too amazing and just the amount of evens that I can't right now.

I'm not really someone who like samplers. I appreciate the skills and history, but for the most part they aren't my stitching style. I still enjoyed your video though because I found some samplers I do like. The French one with the bright colors is stunning. I like the more elegant motifs and bright colors. Love the winter and fall Quakers and I added the heritage sampler to my wishlist. I think it would be a fun Independence Day piece. Thanks for the video!

Kindred Stitcher I was thinking I already put Luke and Lorelai at the top, so I need Rory for sure but there are three figures at the bottom. Also there are random animals in the grass so maybe I could change those to something else - maybe the baskets they had at the auction? I might change the smallest figure to their dog, Paul Anka 😂

I haven’t finished it or gotten to that part but I did chart something! Here’s some insider info 😂😂😂 i charted Rory and Logan in The Life or Death Brigade formal ball outfits with the umbrellas! I made the house into the gazebo in the town square. I haven’t stitched any of it but I’m excited!
