Hey! I'm from Russia and we usually only celebrate New Year's Day on the 1st of January. But some people also celebrate Christmas. However, due to the Julian calendar that the Russian Orthodox Church use for religious celebration days, Christmas is celebrated on the 7th of January :) Thank you for this wholesome video!

I got married in Greece 21years ago. I was born and raised in Canada. I was extremely depressed on Christmas because there was no snow. I nearly cried in front of my husband's family. It was awful. I still get very sad every year... Your place is beautiful and cozy. All the best to you and your loved ones.

How lovely everything looked. And the glimpses of snow were beautiful. In the United States Christmas is very commercially motivated. People are generally happy but everyone rushes about trying to do to many things. I agree with you about sending cards and I enjoy doing it but most people no longer share our idea. Shhhh! It’s a secret. ☺️
Christmas always started on Thanksgiving day. After dinner we would decorate the tree. My father would bring the tree in and my brother would put on the lights and then my Mom, Sister and myself would decorate it. We would string popcorn and put it on the tree. On Christmas day there would be tons of presents under the tree. My Dad would sit by the tree, handing out gifts one at a time, so everyone could see what we each got. We'd laugh a lot. After opening gifts, we would have a big ham dinner. Things changed little by little after my Mom died and then my Dad died and then my Sister died and then my brother died. It is just me now and Christmas is no longer what it used to be. But I do have all those memories and enjoy sharing them like I am doing here. Merry Christmas to everyone. Enjoy this time with your family, because you just don't know how long it will last.
