Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the password. I would love any tips you can give me.
Thank you so much man this makes it seem a lot simpler than what I thought. I always overcomplicate things. I'm so glad there's someone in the z31 community that knows how to run a TH-cam channel keep it up
Thank you for this video man! To this date it is still helping people. I’m About to install my coilover’s for the first time on my Z31 and this helps knock it out with confidence.
I just did the fucking wheel bearings on my Z31 today and couldn't find the torque specifications for the locking nut anywhere... I'm watching this video hours after, and you fucking had it!!!! Damn life saver man, keep up the quality work!
If I had dollar for every time someone showed a video of torqueing down something but never showing the torque figures to torque it to.... Thank you for showing those numbers!
Very nice video! Really well done. I've been eyeing classic Z31's for awhile but they seem very expensive to modify if you're not a great mechanic and have no place to work on them. I appreciate the one you've built! Very nice!
i did order these coil over as well didn't even know they exist until your video. am going to find out how low they make my z . am hoping it sit down like the way I want. I started to go with "stance" but power trix included the spindle so I went with them thanks for the tips.
The issue that has me concerned with going to coilovers is that the entire rear weight of the car (which is about 50% of the total weight) now rests on the forks of the rear control arms, which were never intended to support that weight. It is normally distributed between the rear springs (which fit into a mold on the flat of the arm) and shocks, of which the majority is on those molds, not the shock forks. Then you have to add the accelerated forces of road bumps and other movements which with a lowered car are greater than stock. And then there is the issue of the inner tops of the shock towers; were they ever intended to withstand that weight as well? Even if you hit the shock bump stop, part of the car's weight is still shared by the springs.
Hey, I know this it has been a while since you posted this, but I just bought a z31 and was wondering, where do you find parts? And would you be interested in selling the coilovers you uninstalled in this video?
Hi there. Just curious, what spring rates did you choose to F/R ? I´m currently using 12kg/ 8kg on K-Sport struts and they are more like drift than street setup. Have fun with your Z.
Got a question for you when you putting your front coil over on did you have any issue with one of the bolt on top (where the two bolt sit on top on each side of the coli over) hitting the metal at all, and I see you didn't used any gasket on top of the coil over ?
Ok the area I was pertaining to is upper top (Damper) area where there is 4 Hex screw head, in your video within the "Green" circle . Now also the coil over in front is their a particular side they go on? Is their a left coil over just for the left side (driver side). I don't see any particular side in the ones I own. I have tried both of them on either side and they appear to fit. Thanks for your feedback
Oh see what you mean, yes the 4 allen head bolts, 2 of them were hitting the chassis of the car, but you can unscrew them and put them in a different thread and they will fit fine, and no there is no specific side
You’re like the ChrisFix for Z31’s 😂

@Leonardo Cayson instablaster =)
This video is so helpful man and you showed the process very well, easy to follow. Glad you've made this and hope to see more on the z!

Great video! I’ll definitely come back once I’m working on my suspension. Good to see more Z owners keeping these cars running.
that OEM jack never thought it would be doing a coilover job. Great job bruv!
So glad you took the time to make a tutorial on how to put coil overs on a z31,
If I had dollar for every time someone showed a video of torqueing down something but never showing the torque figures to torque it to.... Thank you for showing those numbers!

Man I just wanna thank you again for all you do ser...
Now that's some proper lug nut torquing.

Great video simple and straightforward

Dope video bro, been looking for help installing mine. I got ceika coilovers what do you think about them?
Your Z is so clean.
Love the vid!! Keep making more. Loving the content!!
Hey mate love your videos keep them up .
Great video! Where did you get the lower strut mount hardware for the rears? Was that available from powertrix or just your local auto parts store?
The little spacer circle things? They came with the coilovers
Now I have one question where do you hook the adjustable damp control I never seen where you plug them in ? Great video.
I believe stance coilovers are a direct bolt on unit
Great video! Thanks for all the info! What's the ride like?
Pretty good! Still a bit rough but better then the old ones
Hi mate
Lovely looking z, how did you get on with spring rates? Would you change them or keep them the same for ride quality?
Awesome build
WOW..great job..and editing was superb..if it were all that easy! :)
Well done brotha 👊🔥
where did you get the wheels? looks great, and thanks for making a vid on this process!
Zstore for wheels
Turbocharged Creations doesnt the z come with 5 lug wheels? Your wheel is 4 lugs
1984 and 1985 NA came with 4 lug
Turbocharged Creations o ok makes sense. Since mine is an 87 it has 5 lugs
I see your not running a bump-steer spacer, how's it ride without one, just curious. I would recommend getting one as i get no bumper-steer off my 87.
Havent noticed anything unordinary
Great video bro
I was wondering if you remember where you got those sleeves for the rear coil overs?
great video,
Thanks!
What coil overs did you have in there to start with? I’m in the market of some plug and play coil overs with a stock rim setup for now.
I have a question... so if you need new coilovers.... you gotta get another spindle from a junkyard because that shit is welded? Or what....
I didn't megan racing made z31 coilover for rear
Hi bro
Can you tell me about another company for the z31 suspension.. that one to expensive
I’m certain this is the next thing I’m doing to my car.
I hear the rear s13 coils need a sleeve for the lower bolt mount? Is this true also what size if you know haha
Hey, I know this it has been a while since you posted this, but I just bought a z31 and was wondering, where do you find parts? And would you be interested in selling the coilovers you uninstalled in this video?
Are the front ones directional? Or can either one go one either side ?
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO
Hi there. Just curious, what spring rates did you choose to F/R ? I´m currently using 12kg/ 8kg on K-Sport struts and they are more like drift than street setup. Have fun with your Z.
trying to decide if im going to rebuild/turbo my 87 sohc. or vh45de, any other v8 or inline 6. its a drift build so not looking for crazy power.
You wouldn't still have the old coilovers would you?
yooo how can I take off rust under the Carpet??
Wouldn't you just be able to get a ratchet with an extension down under those speakers instead of taking apart the whole trunk?
Theres metal supports around the speakers, I was able to get one, but the other 2 more covered
Are these coils maxed out in the vid? Or can you go lower than that
Did you adjust any preload on your coils?
Nice video! Subd’
What are you doing with those old coils from the rear?
Good video. Thanks
This is great how much those coils bro
roughtly $1k
What’s the song at the end of the video?
Where are you located? I need you to upgrade my 1985 Nissan 300zx Z31. Thank you.
Hey, did you have to reinforce the rear shock towers at all?
David Church nope, good strength
What's the link for those coilovers
Included a link in the description
i know im late to the party but is there no one that sells these prefabbed ive got no experience in welding and would probably fuck it up if i tried
A2 bring it to a welder, thats what i did and thats what most people do, its fairly inexpensive aswell
Are you selling ur old coil overs
Are these adjustable in height?
Yes, height, dampening,camber and preload
where did u buy your coilovers??
Powertrix website! They go on sale every so often
Got a question for you when you putting your front coil over on did you have any issue with one of the bolt on top (where the two bolt sit on top on each side of the coli over) hitting the metal at all, and I see you didn't used any gasket on top of the coil over ?
Im not exactly sure what you mean but no i had no issues with bolts
Ok the area I was pertaining to is upper top (Damper) area where there is 4 Hex screw head, in your video within the "Green" circle . Whered ya get that nissan livery decal
Custom made
Man i love ur videos. Keep up the good work one question thoe i thought ur not suppossed to lift the car from that support in the front
Iv lifted it from the tow hook on the front for the past 5 years, no issues
What rims are those?
Also, I did a ghetto eBay s13 conversion. My car earned the eBay coils lol
What was wrong with your old coilovers?
They were a lower quality brand and had a harsher ride
What brand coils do you recommend? Working on a budget here
You didn't even remove the old shock before cutting lol
Haha that's what I was thinking
Gland nut was seized solid
Turbocharged Creations oh okay, great video by the way. I need to get some coilovers
How they tide
pretty good!
How tf di u have 4 lugs
1985 non turbo from factory
Where these better then the megans
Ride
don't well that cast iron, it may not will stay on it
Its fine. Its how every z31 does it
@@TurbochargedCreations i didn't
and it's hold for sometime but when time pass on it not may will :)
fuck thank you
Would you sell me your old coilovers? 😭
What rims are those?
