At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

If only Bayezid would have been a little more patient and level-headed. He could have been a great Sultan, certeinly better than Selim.

They have to give Hurrem her due, if someone clearly not in their right mind from grief came towards any of them, they would have panicked and either hidden or wanted to be blocked...Hurrem said stand aside and let her come to her, that shows next level bravery.

I honestly hate how the show pretende Hurrem is heartbroken over Mustafa's death when she's wanted him dead for YEARS and made multiple attempts (one being before Mehmed was killed by Mahidevran). Like, hello?
I think they did the plot with Hurrem being broken by Mustafas death to show the complexety of the ottemans and the rules and that infact it was not hate but fight for survival so it does make some sence
@@Wenchework That's not a good way to show that at all when they've established Hürrem has always wanted Mustafa dead the moment he went against her. It still doesn't make sense.
@@princess7jasmine The law of killing brothers is what caused this and Hurrem wanted Mustafa dead becose that meant her sons safety however wanting someone dead does not nesserly mean you hate them and thats what makes this somewhat sence of this plot
She was broken by it. She told Mustafa to his face she didn’t WANT to kill him. She told him
She wished she was his mother. But she wasn’t. It was him or her sons. She chose her sons. She HAD to kill Mustafa. It did break her heart in a way. Hurrem wasn’t heartless. She was a woman who loved her family and had to survive the game of thrones.
