- How to sew a slipcover for a slipper chair with a ruffles or gathered skirt. This style of chair is the easiest style to slipcover. And this gathered skirt gives an adorable cottage or Coquette vibe.

I’m just starting a workroom and im self taught. Love your videos, they are very informative
Excellent! Thank you. What do make in your workroom? One specific area of home decor sewing? Like drapery or slipcovers etc?
I’ve been doing projects for friends and family and definitely interested in opening a workroom!
Yep, I think that’s where it all starts….family and friends work. 😀
I have done a few slip covers but interested in maybe doing it on the side as a side hustle. I come from a clothing design background and now use my sewing skills for home decor projects.
You can make really great money doing slipcovers. I started by making slipcovers for myself, family and friends and people heard about it and I started getting clients. My friend who was an interior designer started hiring me for all her projects and I had an upholsterer who referred me all his inquiries. Not many people make slipcovers, so you could end up with more business than you want. 😆
It's such a great at home business. Just make sure you price your work right. I should make a video.
Well pricing is the difficult part. I just gave a friend a price for a chaise sofa. I think I underpriced, but maybe other projects might come along and I can increase price once I can document how much time it takes.
@@aliciayokley5239 yes, exactly right. a great book for pricing you work is called...Price your Work with Confidence! by Kitty Stein
I’m just starting out but would only be doing projects for family and friends

I would be interested in it as a side hustle.
