Thank you! I think your experience with having the auction company ship directly to the customer is really going to vary. What I would suggest is maybe buy some low dollar stuff from various auction houses that ship so you can get a feel how smoothly they run and also see how carefully they package items. Some are on the ball others aren't. If you're not supplying your own label to them the customer may also receive a ups label with the auction houses information as well. Not sure if that's a concern? If you get a good experience from a particular auction house you can follow them exclusively in the future. Another option would be to have someone locally from say Task Rabbit pickup and package and ship per your specification.

Auctions are held all over the US they'll be east coast auditions i don't bid on strictly because they're not driving distance. If an auction ships you can bid on anyone though.

I've never had to provide insurance if I'm picking it up myself.
