  • Hello friends in this video I will show you step by step how to season the clay pot or mud pot to keep drinking water after you have just bought! It's good to keep water in clay pot during summer season . It helps in cooling the water and Purify the water naturally! I've experienced many times the Refreshing flavour when I drink clay pot water. It's just amazing! So I would prefer keeping water in clay pot than the other pots! It also have many heath Benefits too!! the one thing we should remember is to avoid dishwashing liquids and detergents while cleaning the clay pots as the pots are porous. So we just clean the drinking pot with empty scouring pad or coconut fiber scrub.
step 1: firstly Rinse the pots in tap water to remove dirt and dust.
After rinsing just scouring the pots with coconut fiber scrub or Scrubby without using any dishwashing liquids.
    After cleaned well
step2: Immerse the pot in a bucket full of water. just use normal tap water. Make sure the pot is completely immersed in water. leave it undisturbed for one day. Next day change water after taking the clay pot out. and refill the fresh tab water in bucket and Immerse the pot to Soak them for another day. likewise we have to let them soak in water for another one day. it takes three days to finish the second step.
step 3: after three days take the pot out and just scour the pots without using any detergents and rinse them well.
    now pots are cleaned well.
step 4: dry in sun light until it dries well.
step 5: once the pots are dried well they will be ready to keep water .
    step 6: method 1:
Place a plate to collect oozed out water and place a stand above the plate now put the pot & pour drinking water in the pot and keep it covered with a cup.
method 2: In a vessel fill some sand and spread evenly. just put the drinking clay pot over the sand. in this method the water is so much cooler than the previous method. I prefer the second method!
note: Always after every use clean the pot well and rinse it off in tap water then let them dry in sun light until it dries well. After it dries well refill the water !!

Thank you for this video. It was very interesting. The cleaning information is super useful, and I’ve never seen anyone condition a pot like this before using it. It’s not hard to see how useful that would be to the quality of the water being stored in it.
I came here seeking information about using terra-cotta as a water filter, through which water would be purified to seep through the filter it pours into the container pot below the one being used as a filter. I see from this video, how useful storage of water in a pot like this would be for cooling water, but I’m still hoping to find to find a tutorial to teach me how to use terra-cotta as a filter. Perhaps enough to find something like that on your channel. :)

From my experience, we should not rub the inside with bare hands. It gives an odd smell. Just fill it completely and keep changing the water for 2 to 3 days.

it means its time to replace the pot...mud pots should be used only until the water leaks thru the pores. once it stops leaking it means molds hv formed and closed the pores....
