The Watson Institute and other American universities should try and isolate the variables that are important in Trump’s win. There are a lot of them; some of them cultural and some of them economic. They all seem extreme. For instance, the percentage of Americans who said the economy was bad was equivalent to the lowest point of 2008, during the Great Recession. There was a high rate of inflation. There were anti-trans ad by the Trump campaign, which was a third of all of their ads. There was the gender and race of Harris. It would help to know, using controls in the data, which were significantly more important than others.
Curious at 10:14 you talk about people suggesting to Biden to make councils (seemingly concerned with Trump specifically). Is this standard procedure for a president to be concerned about his predecessor after leaving office?
"mind-concentrating natural disasters that are clearly attributable to carbon emissions." - we've been waiting for this for 20 years. Karl Kruszelnicki was talking about it on Radio 5 Live way back then. Things will change *only* when they directly affect our oligarchs, that much is evident.
The incumbent Conservative party here in the UK suffered the worst defeat in its history, and even they'll make a return at some point. Swings and roundabouts as they say.
A thoughtful perspective and encouraging, in a strange sense maybe.
Thank you all for your time.

When they try to overthrow the government on the way out, you can understand the concern.
