  • Tilly! That's a silly name... get it... it rhymes with silly...
Anyway... This Rubicon Models Austin Tilly HP10 is a really nice little kit. I was pretty impressed with it. Had a lot of fun putting it togehter. I give it several thumbs up.
I'm not sure where this 28mm scale plastic model fits in a force for games like bolt action, but it looks so good it's welcome in ALL my armies!

According to the Bolt Action rule book (Great Britain), Austin Tilly truck is in "Utility car" category. Not the best option, but a cute one.

I bet the fabric things on the radiator are dust covers.

Also used in very cold weather to prevent the radiator freezing.

I made this recently, great kit. The cab is a bugger, if I was to do it again I’d glue the crew to their seats and put them in through the back of the cab.

A very cool, interesting, cute option. Although the rule book says it plays a minor role. If I had one I would do away with the spare tire on the roof and replace it with double Vickers Ks and carry six men in the back. And hang some little truck nuts from the back to prove my badassness!🤘🏻👍👍

Rear seats are called jump seats, named after you guessed it transport aircraft with like seats for paratroopers to sit on. About 3 months ago I did the WC-51/52 Dodge 3/4 ton truck from Rubicon, but I did it up as a Soviet lend lease with a DShK 12.7mm HMG over the M-2 that came with the kit. Like you said Rubicon in the last 3 years has upped their game 5 fold. Compared with my Warlord types they stand out when compared with my German or Soviet forces motorpool that I have 25 vehicles total for both. I use your videos from time to time just to see how someone else would tackle a problem that comes up when assembling a kit.

It has that 1930s car vibe you see when vehicle makers had to switch to war production and stop making style "improvements".
It's said that amateurs think tactics while experts think logistics. An army would need plenty of Tillies and such to transport expendables like food and ammo. There are probably plenty of add-on detail sets to load that model up with boxes and bags of stuff that soldiers would really like to be delivered to them. Without the jump seats it could be a field ambulance.
