I’m in the process of either getting a 80 series or a gx470. I know you’ve owned both. Which do you feel is more enjoyable for an overland vehicle? I wanna spend a lot of time going through the mountains and mild to moderate offroading. Mainly exploring and overlanding though
I haven't gotten to enjoy the land cruiser in the same way I did the GX. If you plan to do a lot of long distance driving (3+ Hours) I'd go with the GX. It's safer, smoother, easier, cheaper, doesn't need any power modifications, and most likely will have less maintenance. The main reason I switched to the Land Cruiser was because the GX left me bored with not much to do. It simply solved the overlanding problem with a 3" lift and 33" tires that took me 4 hours to put on. After that there wasn't much left to do. The Land Cruiser given me a "sky's the limit" level of fun in the build process.
loving this series
