Goosebumps is all I have to say. Nobody except for us car enthusiasts can understand and feel what it's like to have a connection with our cars and express the love we have for cars. To the regular car owners, cars are just a metal object that moves. But to us, it's more than that. It's apart of you. It's your significant other. This is why i love this channel, because i can understand and relate to these classic car owners. Why doesn't this channel have more subscribers?! The quality of these videos are better than the TV shows on Velocity!!
+Ty U. Hell ya! Everytime I see or hear of an FD or any other RX7 with some lack-luster piston engine swap, I die a little inside... I have an 88' FC, 10thAE and it will remain true to its roots and it's rotary soul as long as I own it!
+Nano Kumo I'll take hella-functional over hellaflush any day of the week! Screw that poser crap! Give me cone-rash over curb rash.... Nice tacky hoosiers and timing lights over Pirelli's stretched over the wheels and traffic lights...
Jason's mate with the 13b sedan was me, I am glad I got jason into a mazda , nothing like it, my biggest regret is selling that car, i have made a lot of mistakes in my life but getting around in the mazda and Geoffs clubman was the time of my life. I have a new purchase coming through to suprise my mate. Miss you buddy
This video made me a bit choked up, my, how I am still and will always be in love with the rotary engine. It is just, perfect. I need to find myself a nice RX-3 one of these days. I want to collect them all.
+Thomas Wallblom Most of what you're hearing is transmission whine, not the engine. If you put solid or very hard bushing mounts on your transmission, your car will have this sound. I ran one in my car for a while on my transmission and it sounded like a racecar. After that one broke, I put a better designed one in that cut the sound in half or less and it's much better now, basically the difference between people thinking the car is broken vs not noticing. I really wish I knew which mics they used to pick up the interior sound so well.
FINALLY an old RX! And thank the petro-lord, it still has a rotary just like god intended! I love how nice & clean it is and the owner's attention to detail, that ladies & gentleman is how you do it! Outstanding! Rotary4life!
I really appreciate you guys exposing the old Japanese cars and there drivers as well as the European models... we all have our favorites but the way you guys aproach these videos is fantastic... I love seeing and hearing peoples love for there cars... Keep up the great work...
Great video, thank you! Inanimate objects...a pencil, a paintbrush, a guitar, a car. Sorry for sounding like Dr Suess, it's the passion we bring to make it all come to life.
Yes yes and yes! Great to see Petrolicious delving into Australian cars, and to see a buzzing hornet featured. Such an icon of the historics series, great to meet the man behind the car. Definitely on an unregistered permit that day!!
Don't ever stop making these videos ,it captures what we all love about motoring , driving ,cleaning them and what non petrolheads just don't understand.many thanks.
one thing i notice with all of these car owners..that wry smile as they drive..the loving caress as they prep them..they get it..and we all get that..it is why we are here watching these great stories...
This dude knows whats up. Makes a lot of sense to keep watch and clean a car while your tracking it especially a vintage. "Mechanical sympathy" and the car looks great too. Thanks for sharing.
i've watched this video 8 times already and I don't get tire of watching it, and I will continue watching it for my rest of my life.Best petrolicious video ever!!! Thanks
Thank you so much for sharing your paasion for RX-2. It is absolutely beautifully restored and I can tell it has been so well taken care of. When I first visited Sydney on a business trip back in 2008 I came across a bookstore show window where a Rotary Engine specialized book was nicely displayed then I finally realized that there were some Rotary engine lovers in down under for sure. I still watch on TH-cam those Rotary engine lovers there and it somehow gives me warm feelings. Thanks again for sharing your passion and nicely documented films. From Tokyo.
I came across this channel by accident, but it is by far my favorite channel on all of TH-cam. It gets you to the soul of the story. Great camera work as well.
I had a stock Rx2 Capella super deluxe coupé for 4 years and sold it in 1991 - second biggest car regret of my life I loved how you could see the fuel gauge move when flat chat in 4th. She was a guzzler.
Mazda is a totally underrated car maker in my opinion. I know car guys know what it is, but it has never gotten as much attention as other brands, despite it has produce such incredible cars. Great vid!
Literally can't believe this video. I've been following Josh Clason since the depth of speed videos, which got me onto Petrolicious, and since I've been watching every petrolicous video for the 2 last years or so, and now completely out of nowhere, on the other side of the world, you guys happen to be shooting a car thats driving down roads i drive down nearly every day. That was the most surreal thing to watch. Rad video guys!
My first car was a 71 RX2. Started out stock but eventually was upgraded to Racing Beat intake manifold with Holley oil injected 4bbl carb, headers (goodbye thermal reactor!) and Corvair turbo exhaust. What a blast!
"It's more then that, it is something that, you give it a chance and treat it with the respect that it needs, the car will become something more" Bloody well said! damn nearly brought a tear to my eye. I feel that passion with my cars, and you just put it into words so perfectly.
i still have my 85 Rx-7. and it only has 87k miles on the original engine. i try to baby it ,but every once in a blue i push her good. i wish mine sounded like that. hats off to u bro.
How can +petrolicious have less than one million subscribers? or I mean less than half a million!? You guys Should have at least 1,5 million subscribers for the quality you guys produce! Keep it up :)
i dont 'ike the car as much as I like the passion this man has towards his machine. such a special car because the owner just makes it be that special.
A mate many years ago, had a Capella as a loan car from a Mazda dealership, off we went to the drive in theatre, with 5 on board, hit 180 ks on the way, respect!
Thanks to Jason for sharing your car and the story, indeed the car is something else when you allow it to be and build some history and memories with the car. Sounds great, had some buddies race a 13B RX3 in rallies and once they took it to a race track day with the other rally cars at the local club and it cleaned up the escorts were left on the straights ! They just burst up the rev range, something else. Incredible level of detail with your build Jason "nice job".
I miss my RX2, I had one when I was in High School. Cut my teeth as a mechanic, changing the many points, plugs, distributor caps, checking the gas and adding oil, but worth it. Nothing, nothing compares to the seemingly limitless RPM's, and the traction on slippery roads, which rivaled my Audi 200 Turbo quattro.
"I painted it orange because its the color it came with and I want to stay as true to the car as possible" is the sentence almost nobody understands, for some people it is just a car, but for others there is something emotional there, as if its not only a machine, but even alive. We understand and realize that inn the end, it is just a machine, but the emotional bond is there
I am his mate who owned the 13b RX2 sedan, it was the same colour, I like to think my old mate is giving a nod to the old days. I miss my mate, and would beat his lap times too!
Nice to see a guy who takes such good care of his car, wish I had a lift, Saw a drag rotary at Moroso's drag strip in fla a while back, had to be the single loudest thing i've ever heard run, but quick !
Ordinary cars go "boing, boing, boing"; the Mazda goes "Hummmmmmm" My first real car was a 1971 rx2, everyone had to see the motor that went "Hummmmmm"
Living in Australia is pretty damn awesome. We have large choice of cars, from JDM heros, Muscle cars to European Hot hatches and beautiful places to drive them also. This video shows glimpse of how awesome it is to be a car person in this country, what a awesome machine.
aw nice mate yeh ive been in lots of them and helped build them and had a couple of rx3s myself and they have a great little personality and they are kinda just weird and different which is what i like about them . one of my favorite memories about them is the smell of the gas esspecially when we deleted the oil mix pump and ran it with pre mix i just used to relish the stink of it burning , and then there is the scream of the massive revs and you can hear every bearing and gear whining along with the huge flames and back fires, its a very raw motoring experience.
SHHHHH SHUT UP!!!!Dont tell every body...the idiot car investers get wind to the next best thing in classic car , they will throw more money then they are worth at them to sell them to guys that have more money than god and there they will sit idle in a collection. Be very very Quiet!!!
I think this channel is great... absolutely one of my favourites and I don't think I've missed an episode... on top of that I love rotaries , I've had an Rx7 & an Rx 4 but I would have loved to have scene more and heard more of this excellent Rx2 on the road screaming to the red line... that is the gift of the Mazda rotary!!!
My first car was a used Mazda RX-2 in the late 70's. I think my parents thought they were buying me a clunky compact car...little did they know. :D Nice video and beautiful car!
That sound!! What a incredibly awesome built car. I need one In my life just for the noise.
like the old mazdas, love the rotary engine
This is hands down the best car channel. I love almost every video. Great work to the crews.
Motor Trend Channel is my favourite because roadkill
+Tankred Zrn Drive tastefully because roadkill
Motor trend sucks now, they hardly do roadkill and most of their videos are just payed for sht projects
+VideosAreDrugs they got also the racing line, dirt everyday and head to head and hot rod garage. its not that bad
+VideosAreDrugs I hear you. Drive used to be good but they only do a real episode about once a month.

Glad to see some rotary rep on this channel, love my 83 FB.
Wish mine ran this good lol, 12A life. Great vid as always Petrolicious.
+Ty U. Thrilling rotary sound! Congrats! :-)
+Ty U. Hell ya! Everytime I see or hear of an FD or any other RX7 with some lack-luster piston engine swap, I die a little inside...
I have an 88' FC, 10thAE and it will remain true to its roots and it's rotary soul as long as I own it!
+mytmousemalibu Same, the rotaries have so much potential, like RCR said, V8 swapping an FD only really gives you a slightly smaller C5 corvette.
+Ty U.
lovin that good clean bridgy, pretty rare these days
This man's passion and dedication is inspiring.
My very first car!? Every time I see one, it brings a tear to my eyes.
Than I got an RX4 coupe, and a RX5.
I love them. Wonderful cars.
that camber.. no stancenation and it's perfect
Jaafar Farhan the slight negative bugs you enough to make you notice the camber but not too much that you say wtf..
+Nano Kumo I'll take hella-functional over hellaflush any day of the week! Screw that poser crap! Give me cone-rash over curb rash.... Nice tacky hoosiers and timing lights over Pirelli's stretched over the wheels and traffic lights...

I love the wide variety of cars featured on this channel.
Took a 72 on trade, lime green/black stripes,,, painted it black, left the snow tires on it, pulled hole shots like crazy !!!
Wow, just wow! That sound at 5:12 is just insane!!!!
+Thomas Wallblom Are those straight cut gears I hear?

+Thomas Wallblom Everything inside me screamed SHIFT SHIFT!!! Oh...wait, that's right!
This car speaks to me man.
Beautiful little RX2. These things have huge balls and I have the biggest respect for them as a Ford,Chevy, and Mopar engine and car builder.
Love how clean he keeps it! And what a sound it makes! Those taillights are neat too.
FINALLY an old RX! And thank the petro-lord, it still has a rotary just like god intended! I love how nice & clean it is and the owner's attention to detail, that ladies & gentleman is how you do it! Outstanding! Rotary4life!
Love that gravely idle and low-speed sound.

Pretty easy to like this bloke Jason.
+RollYourRock he's a Humble guy
+john wilson
Ha ha, I was tempted to say that.
+RollYourRock Well his surname IS 'Humble'!
I must have watched this 50 times now.....Love this car. Its the inspiration for my RX2 Coupe project
I'm a simple man: I see a petrolicious video, I press like
Of course you do, bcuz you don't know any better. Hell, I doubt you even watched 30 seconds of this.
I'm a simple petrolicious: I see a like video, I press Man
Once you drive a rotary to the limit you will never forget it.
Uncle Muir I remember the absolute euphoria i felt when I punched it out of a corner with my Toyo r888’s on on my fb rx7. Simply breathtaking
@@awesom6588 dang you got R888's on an RX?? That's some serious cornering ability my man, incredible. What's your setup?

This is the channel that almost has no haters....bravo to the directors.... this is the best car channel here...hoping to see rx7 video
Finally a rotary!!!!
That idle in the end of the video killed it! If Petrolicious were a watch brand surely it would be a Swiss company. So much attention to details!
LOVE THIS CAR!!!! I need to see more pics and close ups of the wheels please!
This dude knows whats up. Makes a lot of sense to keep watch and clean a car while your tracking it especially a vintage. "Mechanical sympathy" and the car looks great too. Thanks for sharing.

Breathtaking, thank you Petrolicious for capturing the spirit of us car enthusiasts.
I truly love that little sound the engines make. And these things can sure rev!

I agree with your philosophy100 percent. My first car was an RX 2 age 15.. I restored it took over 8years! Much respect good work
damn sir, ur so lucky to have a rx2 age 15..just like me now im 15 but I don't have any car 😂
I came across this channel by accident, but it is by far my favorite channel on all of TH-cam. It gets you to the soul of the story. Great camera work as well.
Lovely car. Had a light yellow one. Bought it in 1978 at my father's garage. A beast.
I had a stock Rx2 Capella super deluxe coupé for 4 years and sold it in 1991 - second biggest car regret of my life
I loved how you could see the fuel gauge move when flat chat in 4th. She was a guzzler.
What's the first biggest car regret?
and jet again , love how they bring over the pasion of the owners in to a awsome sort movie that says all about them and there cars
That sound , Wow beautiful note. Hats off
Mazda is a totally underrated car maker in my opinion. I know car guys know what it is, but it has never gotten as much attention as other brands, despite it has produce such incredible cars. Great vid!

Just came back to Petrolicious after a break, and find an RX2 buzzing along one of the nicest roads in my home town. Awesome work!

Agreat and enjoyable video of a man and his Rx2.

Almost sounds like a two stroke.
Awesome car.
What an exciting model to have as your race car. Just awesome!
Your videos have a so nice touch and feel to them! So cozy! keep it up!
Had my heart set on the RX-3 as my favorite classic Mazda. But THIS..... oh god THIS is making me seriously reconsider that thought.
Ordinary cars go "boing, boing, boing"; the Mazda goes "Hummmmmmm"
My first real car was a 1971 rx2, everyone had to see the motor that went "Hummmmmm"
And the big v8 in my 69 firebird makes the perfect low deep ground shaking sound which I like more but it's all opinions I guess
+Mr. Johnson
The first car I bought was a '72 RX3... I know exactly what you mean.

What a great story. Had a hot 71 RX2 myself, as did a a couple good friends.

Love it when Petrolicious showcases such an eclectic variety of cars!

What kind of souless people didn't like this video? This is a cool fucking car.
sounds beautiful. .. I wish this mazda chassis was easy to come by in the states
Hey im puerto rican and I know we hold the world records in rotary but I must say my fellow Auzzies have incredible rotary cars all types
