    I've had my Little Green Clean Machine for 15 years and have put it through some stuff, and it still works just fine. One tip for this machine is when you are done before you empty the dirty tank, go to the sink and let it suck up some clean water to flush out the dirty gunk still in the hose.

      the little green has been around that long? I agree with rinsing it through with a bit of tap water though, I use my cleanview liftoff all the time and i'm always amazed at how much hidden filth it removes!
      another tip
      once i'm done using my cleaner, I save what is left of the mixed solution and chuck it into a 5L pressure sprayer. it saves simply pouring it down the drain, and it makes pre-treating carpets etcetera really easy.
      it also means that it's ready to go with a few quick pumps as soon as a spill occurs, leaving as little time as possible for a stain to take hold, and can potentially even neutralize the spill completely whilst you set up!
      (I've seen it neutralize a chocolate milk spill using the X2 pet strength, couldn't believe my damn eyes)

      @j pizano @ Lidinator Help!!! I had a little green machine but it started leaking. I just kept using it and dealing with it. Eventually got old and was failing and had to get rid of it. Has anyone had any leaking problems with it since purchasing it? It’s the only thing stopping me from getting a new one and considering other options. Thought maybe I got a lemon. What has been your experiences so far? Any leaks or is that normal for all spot cleaners? Thanks everyone!

      The idea is great but the height needs to be adjustable on the brush for more scrubbing power. Also, pet eraser needs better battery for better suction. They should just put a power brush on the little green machine. Maybe they should try a flat circular brush that spins horizontally. I got a brush attachment for my drill and that scrubs really good.

    Not sure if you're interested in adding more tests, but one you could do is a set-stain padding test. Put a piece of padding under the carpet, let the carpet stain set, and then see how well it extracts the padding stain as well.
    One thing I've noticed with certain carpet cleaners is they're great at getting the carpet stain, but for those of us without the shielded premium padding, the stain will just reappear (sometimes worse) as the carpet drys because it comes up out of the padding. This can be really bad if you put a fan down to aid in drying.

    Ive had the pet stain one for about 10 years ,in fact it’s purple on my model. It’s still working really good but I feel like I’ve lost half the attachments by now and it’s time to upgrade to the newest version. I was on the fence about buying the same thing considering that I like to detail my car from time to time and was considering the other ones. Good after this review definitely has reminded me that my old tried-and-true is still the best one on the market and I’ll be buying a new version. Thank you

    I bought the power brush and here’s a few tips I’ve noticed that help a lot. As far as the only use their solution, sure if you use other solutions and it breaks that’s on you but I haven’t noticed an issue mixing my own. Also if you mix together a spot treat solution to put on the area before you go in with the machine and the solution inside you end up using less of their solution and it works a lot better. I typically use a few tbsp of oxiclean mixed with hot water as a pre treat.

    I've used a cordless Bissell Pet Stain Eraser, but don't think it had the power brush. It was 'meh'. Convenient, yes, but for cleaning pet stains? I don't think so. My go-to device when I had carpeting was a small shopvac. Soak the area with some sort of enzymatic pet stain solution and suck it out with the shop vac. But for carpet + pad, even that wasn't ideal. Best solution if one has pets and the inevitable pet accidents that go along with it? No carpeting! If I have to choose between carpet and my pets, my pets win every time!

If you’re nervous about using a power tool on upholstery I still use the same products but agitate with a old fashioned upholstery brush. I use the Bissell Little Green for simple extraction to remove all the dirty water and solution .

    My solution to spot cleaning is a Milwaukee cordless shop vacuum. If you already have Milwaukee stuff you might already have a battery and charger; if you have to buy everything it will be expensive. But it combines cordless convenience with real power (the Milwaukee M18 battery is strong). I keep spray bottles ready to go with my preferred cleaning solution (Quick 'n Brite) and when there is a mess, I spray, let it sit, scrub with a brush, then vacuum up the liquid with the shop vac. The shop vac leaves the carpet nearly dry. This works well for me. (We have two cats and they have hairballs from time to time so a convenient solution was important to me.)

      I should add that I like to rinse the carpet with water and vacuum that up too. The Milwaukee shop vac can hold two gallons in its bin. Also I rinse out the hose after cleaning up pet messes because I don't want anything that could spoil left in the hose.

    I have the older Bissell Pet Stain Eraser, and it leaks. And I had 2 of them and they both leaked. If you leave the cleaner in the machine and come back after a week or two, the level will be down and you'll have a spot where the stain eraser was sitting. I wonder if they solved that issue in this new refresh
    I'd be interesting in see more 'stain removal' comparisons. And it would really nice is Dyson entered the market.

    I bought a Bissell Spot Clean Pet Pro, and a set of drill brushes. Scrubbing is a pain, and the drill brushes are so versatile and really make a difference in stain removal. I think part of the problem with the PowerBrush is how small that suction opening is. The width of the machine is misleading and not very corner friendly. The different attachments of the spot clean are really nice. I would trade some of the convenience of the PowerBrush for all of the other benefits of the Spot Cleans. Last year I tried the Hoover Pwr Portable Battery spot cleaner and it was all kinds of terrible. The design of the tools made extracting impossible, especially if you're trying to get leverage to extract like EVERYONE does. What's more the tanks were tiny and the battery didn't last for crap either. I took it back the next day and went to buy the Spot Clean.

    Just bought a Little Green (older model 1400M - read it's the same as the 1400B and was a bit cheaper). Works pretty well but wondering for those that have it what they think of the suction? Seems fairly low. The suction in the dirty water compartment seems fairly strong but by the time it gets to the nozzle it seems really diminished. Yes, check the hose and it's fine. I can go through an entire tank of water but only suck up an inch or two of water back into the dirty water tank. Also, what's with the design of the nozzle attachment? The release button has slots around in while are open to the suction - which means there a little loss of suction which you can feel around the release button. I put some tape around it to reduce the loss there. Pretty dumb, Bissell. The clip should have been on the other side that's not accessible to the hose suction. Anyway, wasn't sure if I got a lemon machine or if the suction is really only moderate. Can feel a light pull on my skin when touching it but thought it would do better extracting water if it was as strong as a hose attachment coming off of a regular vacuum cleaner.

    GEORGIA RED CLAY IS A MYTH!
    1st up please everyone learn this and share!!!I am not from Georgia but have lived here most my life. The dirt is red. The clay may be white and will be found most likely in South Georgia around Valdosta and the border. Think of swamp sludge. Heck, think of clay. Go ball up some red dirt and try and make a clay ball.
    In construction, 20 years back, I took a class on soils for types A, B, & C. Or was it 1, 2, & 3? Anyways, Rock hard, clay, dirt for basically a sound foundation for your foundation.
    Now, you'll have geologists, soil testers like for your septic tank, etc. that know more. If you're told to put your septic in clay, then get a 2nd opinion. Also, the old Vitrified Clay Pipes in Georgia might match the dirt color and are as brittle, but they weren't made from it, I hope... I've seen a lot in GA.
    That's my PSA. Some may know, and it could just be a term that's stuck. I won't go into my personal feelings on the state. This saying should still become history along with Georgia's many other atrocities. The state may be 48-ish in overall ranking and progression, so we have to start somewhere. We must be one of the unlucky ones. When it worked it was very effective. Our device lasted just under 12 months. Despite all the advice from Bissel how to clear the problem of no spray to the nozzle from the reservoir nothing made any difference. It looks great but I wouldn't buy another. Ours is going to the recycling centre.

    can you do a full review of portable spot/stain cleaners? i ended up giving my little green bissell away cuz it left my couch too wet and then stinky. i bought the portable bissell spot clean pro and my couch looks and smells new now! 😳😁

    Because I’m disabled and hate getting down on the floor I’m wondering if they have something like this that can clean up puppy accidents off of a tile floor after I get the poop up? Something to keep from having to drag out a mop or expose an actual hard floor cleaner like the tineco to pet waste. I’d love something like this that was just dedicated to getting the floor sanitary between mopping.

    • @yogamommy5
      @yogamommy5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I am in the same situation, and I have looked into this. What I’m going to get is a shark vacmop which uses disposable pads. The ongoing cost of that is the only drawback I can see. However, the plus of this is that you don’t have to clean up one of those vacuuming mop floor cleaners which would be really disgusting. You just throw the mess away. And it’s also way cheaper if you exclude the cost of the pads.

    Just get a George or a Henry Wash. Both of these bissells will not last that long. The hose on the little green tends to break and crack. And you should never put pure solution on your carpet or use the bissel solution. Only use solution approved and tested by the American Rug association, such as zep.

    • @DillonCleans
      @DillonCleans 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A George is very ideal for this. Or a bigger carpet cleaner. But the main advantage to these are the price. The little green is decent but I have seen those hoses crack like crazy. So it would be good for someone who just uses it for very occasional spots. You don’t have to use stuff approved by the CRI. But it could be better. I haven’t ever seen solutions hurt carpets before. But zep is a very good cleaner. Although not everything approved by the CRI is good, zep is. There are also many good things out there but aren’t on the CRI website.

    So, I've owned multiples of these cordless Bissell Pet Stain Erasers and I'm hopeful that this video will serve to deter people from purchasing them. You didn't really cover it, but the seal they use for the solution tank does not work and fails extremely early in its life. All 3 of the units I've owned have had this seal fail within the first 3 uses (keeping in mind that my use case is not every day, but more like once a month). The worst part is that when this seal fails, the liquid is allowed to migrate into the handle, exposing the electrical components/battery directly to the solution.

  • @anonymoususer7663

    Little green needs the power brush, or pet eraser needs better battery for more suction. Also power brush height needs to be adjustable for scrubbing power. Come on bissell, get it together!! Had a little green and now have a new pet eraser. I'm still happy with my pet eraser but I know it could be so much better.

    These upholstery cleaners sided with the mops in the 2nd Robot Vacuum War. The mops were the reason our troops even made it to the battle of Cyberdyne Hill. Still though, the carnage was on an unbelievable scale. War, war never changes.

    I had the previous Pet Stain Eraser. It failed and started blowing water out of the top which killed the electronics. Bissel was absolutely zero help and wouldn’t replace it under warranty even though it was well within the warranty period and I had a receipt from Target. That experience turned me off and I bought another brand.
