Storm Chaser is currently my favourite out of the about 40 coasters I've ridden so far inc Outlaw Run, The Beast, Mystic Timbers, Diamondback, The Voyage. The hangtime on that corkscrew drop is insane. It runs so smooth and it wasn't loud at all. I love how it builds anticipation for the zero g roll too. Lightning Run is 4 on my list to date too. I'm just starting out as an enthusiast so chances are it won't stay Number 1.

Storm Chaser is a decent ride and paced well, but I honestly thought it lacked any punch or excitement. It was just good. I've ridden twisted colossus as well and it kicked serious butt. A launched coaster would be great at this park! Something like a Premier Sky rocket 2 model, or, even a B&M winged launch? That would be a good fit at KK

that is because the designer wanted all of the wheels they use on rmc trains on it, at one point in the train. Schilke designed!!! It sounded, felt, and looked good in my opinion. I'm glad you like roller coasters too. They are a cool part of life, very genius and extraordinary!!!!

For whatever reason during the airtime hills the train seemed to slow down just a little forcing me up and forward. And after a few rides it got to be pretty painful.

Johnathan Edwards update: I went to Kentucky Kingdom yesterday. I marathoned Storm Chaser (12 rides) and got on Kentucky Flyer about 4 times. I loved both rides.
It was my first rmc, and I loved it. I didn't find anything wrong with the coaster itself. They were only running one train and the dispatch crews were slow, so that sucked. But my experience there was great
They did a really good job with this RMC. They should add something like damaged buildings and cars to fit with the coaster. Hence why there is a twister in the sign.

Love it. Was there on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend 2018 and lost track of how many times I got to ride this. While Steel Vengeance is an overall better coaster, this one seemed to be far more intense. The drop after the trick track is crazy. Love that they don't staple you in. I had a good 2 inches of gap between the lap bar and my lap...at least until the bar was forced down by the ride. Overall, an awesome ride. Love Lightning Run equally as much. Kentucky kingdom did an awesome job in cleaning this place up and making it look brand new when they did.
I also went in June and rode with the louder wheels. Was wondering what caused that. I would give this coaster an 8.5 based on the overall experience of the park. I have it in the middle of my RMC category (they have 11 coasters right now). This does make KK a destination park when visiting HW. The best advice is to go to Storm Chaser first thing, and you can get a few exit re-rides before the crowd shows up. The only problem with this attack, is the line for Lightning Run and Cyclos will be long by the time you get back to the other side of the park. Don’t ride T3 unless you want your legs chopped off, I give it a 3. The restraint locks down like you wouldn’t believe. If you do ride T3, wear a cup. It's really too bad the train conversion on that ride didn't help. Send it to China.

Valleyfair has announced that the enterprise is closing, it takes up a decent amount of space and it's right next to the main entrance. Valleyfair said that it will be removed in order to make room for a ride. Possible coaster??
those smaller rmcs (wc, Medusa, joker etc) all run nylon wheel which btw isn't the same as steel wheels. It was vibrating bc of the paint sticking to the wheels same things happened to joker and wc. eventually when the ride breaks in all the paint will be stripped and it will run normally
Storm Chaser is great. I know this was built with the twisted sisters spot, area etc, and thus counts as an i-box conversion (though looks like 3/4 is gone versus others where it's more like 1/2). But this is what parks who should get original RMC's should get. Like Six Flags Great Adventure. They don't need a RMC goliath, that'd be silly and not giving them one would also be stupid given it's only got one wooden coaster out and back style. The drop on Storm Chaser is excellent, kinda wish they'd also do it to the Hurler at King's Dominion, but GCI is probably on that. Regardless, I simply believe even with some differences, perhaps an increase to 125 feet the same drop, multiple inversions and basically a layout up to it's own standard or wicked cyclone, would be something good for six flags parks that lack wooden coasters like Six Flags GA and also Six Flags Great Escape, the latter of which can really use something to make people care again.
The other side of the track is used as storage for the trains, ik because they were running one train when I went and you could see the other train sitting there
Rode it today for the first time and it was brilliant. Loved it, loved the elements and the flow of the ride. It was paced perfectly in my opinion. The first drop inversion was wild and almost unexpected even after watching povs. My only complaint is that weird double up you mentioned. Crushed my thighs but it didn't come close to dampening the ride. I gave it a 9 out of 10 as well, the kids gave it a little less...me thinks it was a bit intense for them. Wonderful ride.
I like it... But I haven't been on it. I hope Mean Streak becomes an RMC so when I go up north for Thanksgiving I can ride it. (My grandparents live in Michigan and my Cousins live in Ohio.)
I'm wondering if those shin guards put any stress on the knees, especially for taller people... I've had 3 knee surgeries and sometimes if I don't have enough leg room a coaster can be very uncomfortable.

In my opinion the name storm chaser. is great. if u think of theming wise. the track itself is kinda like a tornado very twisty and turny lol. so in my eyes that's kinda like theming if you think of it. Not the normal design we normally think of. but anyway just a thought.

"The Boss" in St. Louis should get the conversion as well.
Probably. It will be a smooth & fun ride. You don't want a shaky coaster or a headbanger as your first inverting coaster. So Ninja at Six Flags St Louis or an old Vekoma SLC would be a terrible choice. Storm Chaser would be fun & smooth. The 3 inversions (some people only consider it to have 2) could be considered a little much for your first inverting coaster. Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas is also made by RMC, so it's also smooth & fun, and has just 1 inversion. That might be my top recommendation for a first. (It's also my overall favorite.) My first was a coaster with just 1 inversion. Before that, I was so scared to go upsidedown.
Oh goodness! I didn't even know that park had an SLC until I looked that one up just now. Yeah, don't do that first. That one might hurt. The later SLCs, like the one at Magic Springs Arkansas, aren't so bad.

I kinda liked when Wicked Cyclone (SFNE) had the nylon wheels, kinda made it feel "themed" with the louder noise being the cyclone
