$70k for a 996 GT3 would be a steal. Haven’t seen any in my area under $130k. I’m currently saving up for a 996 carrera 4s, wish me luck
Best of luck! Saw one in Largo FL for $26k.
Same here hunting for a 996 4S within the next 6 months.
How is it going?
Loved it! I actually bought my 996.2 6-speed Coupe without knowing a whole lot about 996s.. I've had the car for about a year now and I'm really pleased with my purchase.81 k miles, Great records, IMS clutch RMS already done. I just completely redid the suspension Bilstein B8 H&R lowering springs. Brand new PS2. Complete Aero...The car is absolutely amazing. I do a lot of mountain driving and occasional track days.. feel pretty good about what I ended up with considering my total lack of knowledge. This video would have helped me. I also have a 986s 6-speed that is a fabulous car
This was the most informative and comprehensive video about the 996 options I've ever seen all in one place! Thnak you!
Loving the 996 content… please keep them coming! Cheers 🍻
Thanks! Will do!
I love my '99 996 gen 1 cabriolet. Triple Basalt Black, Hard back Sport Seats.. 50K engine out w/ LN Ceramic IMS, water pump, AOS, Clutch / pressure plate, new top with hydraulics, etal. Also aero kit that looks awesome. And PSE. I've had it 5 years and now it has 58K on it as of 2023. I've owned several air cooled Porsches over 50 years and this is my favorite as I am 72 and live in the south where it gets really HOT. The A/C is outstanding. Better grab up all the 996's you can get your hands on. I am..
Saved to my “Porsche playlist” for reference when I’m ready to buy a 996. Thanks guys.
Glad we could help!
Good info guys glad I found your channel. Looking at buying a 1999 996 Cab with 60k miles.
They are fun cars! We love ours!
I must literally be the only person in the US who doesn't mind the orange side reflectors.
I don't mind it on mine but the clear just changes the look of the whole front
Awesome video guys!! Love your cars!! I just bought a 996 C4 was gonna swap the wheels for 19inch wheels from a 997 and wonders if it would work! Looks like it will looking at your beautiful blue 996.1
Well done gentleman. You might add add the rear end shot of these beauties. Particularly the C4s with the full rear reflector bar. Looking forward to seeing more. Also looking forward to the various upgrades, stock or unstock. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think I need to check my motor mounts. I felt something funny going around the corner hard and I bet that's what it was.
Nice video! The GT3 looks awesome in that color. I haven’t seen a GT3 under 90k in years. The tiptronic needs more horsepower to be fun. Manual is the best option for all of them. C4S is getting huge attention for the light bar in the rear and that’s commanding the premium among the base models. These cars are great. My close friend has a 996tt and just bought a 996.1 C4 cab.😊
All 996 have ABS brakes, Gt2 and Gt3 has no stability management (PSM) or ASC 👍
Awesome video guys! What brand are the side skirts? I will go back and watch again, maybe you mentioned it. All 3 cars are very nice
They are Porsche sideskirts. They offered them with the aero package on the 996
@@husmanbros thank you so much. Keep up the good work on the videos
Great video. 996's are great cars. forget the headlights, niggles in the IMS but a fantastic car. I own an 997 and it it is awesome. A s stepping stone to Porche ownership to a great car.
Great video boys, maybe also consider mentioning maintenance records of previous work done to the 996 such as the the notorious IMS Bearing, it could also effect the appraisal of the car if that is not done or replaced. 🍻
Yup, IMS is a point on these cars. We made another video “5 things to look for when buying a 996” and talked about it there
Not all 996 has IMS issues. The Gt3, Gt2 and Turbo models all have the Mezger engine and that thing is bulletproof 👌
Currently 996 shopping. thanks
Glad we could help!
Great info. Traded a 2012 Toyota Tundra with 150k for an even trade 2004 Carrera 4 6 Spd w/ 45k!! Very satisfied with my trade.😎
agree completely with two pedal vs three pedal sports cars
Can you educate us about the 2000 996 millennium edition?😊 35:05
got a 996 when i was 18 back in 2002…..996.2…..23 years later i have 28,000 miles on it with no issues.
That’s what we like to hear!
The best way to get into Porsche is to get a Cayman
Great video! If you could please get rid of background music (at very least while driving) would help alot. Extremely distracting with headphones on
996.1はヘッドライトがカッコイイ✨
THANK YOU I agree 100%. - JH
No mention about IMS bearing?
We mentioned the IMS
2 housewife xamples
Gt3 has street cred
Turbo for me on my 2nd 996 turbo both x50
Boys l had 997 wheels on my 2001 996 they were on the car when purchased, they rubbed on the under carriage area, they were too wide, maybe yours aren't
Mine don’t rub - it had aftermarket wheels on it originally, and those did rub
My 996 is feb 1998 that was the start not 99
🍳🍳
My mom made me buy one. 😑
The base M96 engine is pure design trash. Besides all the failures related to bore scouring, IMS, you know Porsche themselves didn't even trust it because they used the Mezger in the Turbo and GT3.
Complete nonsense the M96 is not a trash engine firstly the bore scoring is mainly a problem with the early 997 models not 996, just google early 997 for sale especially in uk and see how many engine re-builds they’ve had.. I’ve seen many 996s with 100000 plus mileage with out any problems even with the ims rms jargon crap .. every Porsche has its Achilles even the modern ones..
@@mrbroofing2306 You believe what you want but I spoke directly with a long time Porsche engine rebuilder and he stated it was the worst he'd seen. The only people hyping the 996 are owners trying to keep their values up and youtubers trying to make a buck of content. Ther is a reason why it's the lowest priced 911.
@@mrbroofing2306as an idiot that is just about to buy a 996.1 C4, I’m glad you said this. Everything has it’s Achilles heel, I’m a Corvette guy, but I’ve owned a bunch of non 911 Porsches. After much research, it truly isn’t trash, but some of the issues are worthy of note. This video really taught me nothing. It didn’t mention much.
TLDR: If it's not GT/Turbo manual, turn 180 degrees and start walking.
