The Recon (with Retaliator Internals) is definitely my favorite SAMBO blaster. 1. Lots of different shells and no paint jobs needed 2. Expanded plunger tubes 3. Pump action. It's better than the EAT cause it doesn't depend on the metal internal arm. 4. More compact than a longshot Definitely my favorite blaster
A. The nemesis isn't out yet and I can certainly see someone not wanting to drop 100 bucks on a blaster. Also when was the last time you guys used a stock stryfe? The locks are almost unbearable.
isaac galewsky the elite xd version has some locks removed from the package. which is nice. can fingerbang even with stock aa bateries. better upgraded obbiusly but now is beareable
Anything from Buzzbee. If you can find a Sentinel on shelves still, or get the Buzz Bee Reaper, and one of the $4 buzz bee mega sized pistols for the spring, and add it to the spring in the blaster, you have a nice little house on a budget. Just, note that with the reaper, you can't butterfly it properly, you have to remove the screws, pull the back open, then shove your hand or a block of wood or something in to keep it open, pull out the spring, pull out the lock mech, add the spring from the pistol to the spring, and put it back in. It's a little bit painful to do, (literally) but it's very much worth it and you can have a great little primary for as low as $15, or $19 with a second 8-round mag if you buy the K-Mart version.
***** Not the maverick anymore, that thing's so old and out-classed that there really isn't a reason to stick to it. Hate to have to burst your bubble on that one. As for the Stryfe, that's debatable. You can do relatively cheap mods to it, compared to what Drac does, however I wouldn't call them easy compared to a springer, nor would I call $50 for a LiPo and charger from Amazon cheap, let alone replacement motors, wiring, switches, and a $10-20 soldering iron. But, I could easily say that #1 would be the Sentinel or any other modern Buzz Bee clip fed blaster, seeing as they're so inexpensive and upgrade springs are as simple as buying a $4 pistol, The rest would probably be as follows: #2 thrift shop Longshots, #3 Retaliator and friends, (i.e. the family of Elite blasters with the same internals, including Rampage, EAT, Slingfire, etc.) #4 the Cycloneshock? It's not hard to modify pretty well. #5 Crossbolt? (The bullpup stringer that just needs a replacement cord from Amazon to fire much stronger than the stock one, and that's it.)
As an avid shooter (primarily an airsofter but also other things like nerf) I can say that you're 100% correct about reliability being the most important factor of a gun. I need to be completely confident that when I pull the trigger, something is going to come out the front and cycle correctly so it can do it again.
drac love you and your channel you have inspired me to start my own channel. now trying to raise funds for camera gear thank you for all of the inspiration to keep going on even with bullying against nerf and my affiliation with nerf related stuff. once again thank you
Drac, look into picking up a lavaliere mic and pocket digital recorder (or just find a lav that works with your smartphone). Even a $15 mic and a $40 recorder would improve your audio by multiple times. I know you've been looking to step up production values in '17 and that little bit could help a lot.
Pretty good list. Mine is based off of my experiences playing HvZ, or watching as a mod. 5. Rapidstrike. Basically for all the reasons you mentioned. 4. Stampede. Yes, I do think that this is better than the Rapidstrike, as long as it's well modded. I think it has a more controllable rate of fire compared to the Rapidstrike, which I think matters a lot in HvZ when you need to conserve your ammo. And being able to fire without having to rev up flywheels or manually prime a blaster feels good. I saw a squad armed with modded Stampedes be a force to be reckoned with semester after semester, and it's not hard to see why. The work needed to get it to that level is all that keeps it from being higher on the list. 3. Alpha Trooper. This blaster holds a special place in my heart, being my first blaster I modded, my primary when I first survived to an HvZ finale, and was the blaster that helped me really get into HvZ. At $20, it's next to impossible to find a blaster at that good of a price (Stryfe aside, of course.) Loading clips from the bottom instead of the side like the Rampage/Raider is a huge advantage, and I love the shotgun style priming handle. It's by far the best springer for HvZ in my opinion. 2. Stryfe. Nuff said. 1. Rayven. I admit, this is a pretty biased pick, and I understand why most put the Stryfe here, but I just have to choose the Rayven. I'm in love with the bullpup design, it just feels nice and compact. Even with the Stryfe having no attachments, it feels like it sticks out more, which is not a feeling I like to have when zombies can come rushing from any direction. The other reason is that I took off the dart jam door and cut away enough of the remaining plastic to allow me to topload the loaded magazine, which is great when I come across a few stray zombies and only fire 2-3 shots. I've tried doing similar with the Stryfe, but it hasn't worked as well for me. But the most important thing, which is a trait it shares with the Stryfe, is being able to shoot one handed easily. The importance of being able to hold onto socks in your other hand, or hang onto/carry an objective while being able to still effectively fight, can't be overstated. The full auto blasters are just too long and heavy to do this for long periods of time, unless you minimize them. But I prefer the controlled rate of fire of the semi autos. Like I said, this is a biased pick. I had to do a lot of work to fix the alignment, since mine is an OG Rayven from the Light it Up series. Still, now that it is fixed up, I can't imagine picking anything else as my go to.
Shotguns are popular in a pump action, but they come in all actions (maybe rarely bolt action) but it's incorrect to say "shotgun style priming" it's called pump action
I think that there's a bit of a joke with how there's a cult following about it, and he kind of pokes fun at people for it. To be fair, it's not hard to see why. Out of the box, it gets about the same performance as an OMW Elite blaster. But, the shell is kind of iffy to some, and it's a lever action, which isn't the fastest prime ever, but it's not too bad. It just can't compete against the other five blasters on the list because it's nowhere near as popular or has the modding potential of them. (That said, I love my sentinels---all three of them, and the one I gave to a friend for her birthday. Still need to figure out what to do with the 3rd, so I just left it in the box, though, because they went off shelves here last fall.)
CPD0123a I was forced to basically forced to buy it since it came in a box with the Ultra tek Champion. While I agree that it's design is blah,it hits haaaaaaaard!
Yeah, not everyone likes it. I do think that it looks and feels pretty good when done up properly with a nice paint job. Out of the box is weird and not very nice looking, but slap a coat of paint on, and it can look very nice. I've done a fairly simple soap paint job on the one I gave to my friend, (base was bright blue at the ends, then neon green, then yellow in the middle of the blaster, with the top color being gloss black) a straight forward black, neon green, gray and dark green, and one based off of two characters from RWBY, with a little bit of a Borderlands type flare to it, with some roughly painted black outlines. Each one looks rather unique, and works well. But, I do feel that if you can make good use of the details and lines that are on the shell, you can really make it look quite nice. (Which is odd, considering how bland they look out of the box) Only other thing to note is that I feel that it is a must-do to take a small chunk of soft leather and use vinyl and leather rated fabric glue to secure it inside the lever where your fingers push on it to cycle.
Hey Drac, do you still have that long shot battle rifle? That one is a particularly nostalgic one for me because it's what got me into your channel all those years ago!
OMG the Expand-a-Blast on the counter! I guess that was my original "primary" when I was a kid. Must of been 11 years old at the time. Whew, nostalgia rush.
I picked up a disruptor, retaliator and a kronos blaster. I had gotten them to use as props and planned on moding them, mostly giving them a new paint scheme. My question is can you mod the retaliator and trun it into a pump action blaster.
I haz a good setup for the Stryfe (Stock) spectre barrel, rampage stock, modulus hex sight thingy (optional) and the modulus foregrip (the curved one) and some 12-18 round mags
i have yet to own a stryfe but i am aiming to own a couple before they disappeaer. i love my EAT and retaliator. i put worker parts in my retaliator and its a beast xD
Boomco M6 "sniper pistol" should be on the list. I am not a BoomCo fan at all, but have witnessed their game breaking 'sniping' potential at local wars in the north east. Literally, it seems to have TWICE the effective the range and accuracy as super stock full length (koosh) darts.
hey drac do you own an N-Strike element? if so can you do a secondaries video and include the element? i personally own an element, stock, it was performing better than all of the elites that i have shot.
My current set of primaries is (in no particular order): 1. EAT w/ Orange Mod Works Stage 2 2. Zeus w/ Rewire and a 9.6v NiMh battery 3. Artemis 4. Dart Zone Magnum w/ Armrest removed 5. Stryfe w/ Rewire and 2 IMRs My play is based around being able to run and gun. I don't normally carry a secondary but I will carry 2 extra mags when needed.
Semicolon7645 12 rounds are easier to find and more reliable if you're not using full auto, depends if you're doing a full on nerf war or just fighting with your friends
Drac! please stop doing that wierd close up aside commenrts you do. the corny style you've chosen for the top 5 videos is bothering me. And this is coming from one of your biggest fans! :-) You are still the best nerf reviewer!
"It deals Death. Get it because it's the Death Dealer?" BA, DUM, TSK..... I can't wait to create a large drum mag for the Nemesis so you can have literally infinite ammo.
I still love seeing that Rayven Stinger chilling there, I want to Mod mine but I'm scared to because it would be first Mod and I have a Stryfe chilling next it, I also have no soldering experience what-so-ever, but I would love to have it be ready to put out modded performance consistently
i picked up a longstrike fully working with barrel attachment, darts, and clips for 1 dollar! A guys kid had gone to collage, and gave the dad permission to sell all his stuff. i also got a vulcan for 5 dollars at the same place, and a few other guns.
The blue Alpha Trooper cost about 45 bucks in China and the orange one that you're holding is even more expensive... So is hard to get a Alpha Troop for us cuz they cost too much and I can just get a rapid strike with that amount of money...
Drac , why have all the prices of the new and old blasters jumped? I'm a younger nerdier and have found its harder to get blasters for for good prices nowadays. For example I went on Amazon and Hasbro was selling Elite XD Alpa Troopers for 40 usd.
Would you happen to know of any good rapid strike mods to push up the fire rate without heavy modding. (have seen one were the guy put 8 standard AAs but he had to mod the tray.)
Drac when you go to the toyfair you should ask them to bring the Raven back with the longshot front gun as a module or something I'll totally buy that at $50
I'm thinking of getting into nerf drac just for plinking and some fun around. I like flywheels a lot but I can't seem to find any not way over priced stryfes near me, so I was wondering if picking up the doomlands desolator would be a suitable alternative. I also really like the idea of buying a crossbolt and just seeing how crazy I can make it with aftermarket bungees. What would you do if you could only pick one of those two and were budget minded?
in my opinion I would have the same exact list, but I would remove the longshot and move all the guns down one and put the rayven (rayven, not rayvenfire, I have the OG rayven) at #1
I have been trying to find a stryfe in Georgia for 2 years. I haven't found one that is isn't online (which is like 40 dollars). Help me where. I love literally like 10 mins away from u Drac where do u get ur retail stryfes?
Thanks for watching guys! What should the next Top5 be?
LordDraconical attachments
LordDraconical how about shotguns!
LordDraconical top 5 off brand blasters
LordDraconical Top 5 nerf mods
LordDraconical top 5 third party attachments/kits
The Recon (with Retaliator Internals) is definitely my favorite SAMBO blaster.
1. Lots of different shells and no paint jobs needed
2. Expanded plunger tubes
3. Pump action. It's better than the EAT cause it doesn't depend on the metal internal arm.
4. More compact than a longshot
Definitely my favorite blaster
I agree about the stryfe being more reliable than the Rapidstrike. My Rapidstrike jammed a lot and I switched it out for a Hyperfire.
Top 5 Out-of-the-box blasters. I don't Mod.
literally the artemis, nothing comes even remotely close
Rick Chambers how about the nemesis :)
The Stryfe is still pretty high up
A. The nemesis isn't out yet and I can certainly see someone not wanting to drop 100 bucks on a blaster. Also when was the last time you guys used a stock stryfe? The locks are almost unbearable.

Woah bro I never noticed that 😮🤯
How about a top 5 cheap and easy to mod blasters?
Hey! That was MY idea!
Apologies master Baggins, i didn't see your comment

Anarki471 yeah I would like that
Do best secondary NERF guns!!!!
C. Rid 1. Hammer Shot Zombie Strike
C. Rid hammershot if u dual weild with the primary disruptor if u need fast and close attacks
#1 Tactical shotgun
#2 any pistol
#3 Jolt
Kronos
You mock the sentinel as a primary? Alright then.
Omg beret
Wow, your just hiding here huh?
Why are you down here
One other major bonus of the Stryfe: it's small and light enough to dual-wield.
As an avid shooter (primarily an airsofter but also other things like nerf) I can say that you're 100% correct about reliability being the most important factor of a gun.
I need to be completely confident that when I pull the trigger, something is going to come out the front and cycle correctly so it can do it again.
Why the sentinel hate? It deserves at least an honorable mention if not a spot on the list not just an shout-out of uncertain tone.
drac love you and your channel you have inspired me to start my own channel. now trying to raise funds for camera gear thank you for all of the inspiration to keep going on even with bullying against nerf and my affiliation with nerf related stuff. once again thank you
1.stryfe2.nemmmis 3. raven4.rotofury5.slegfire6.heperfire 7.aphatropper
I legit laughed at the extreme close-ups.
you seem like a really cool dude, Drac

I really want to but first I have to get a new hard drive so I have space for adobe premier, right now all the editing happens in movie maker
Hi Drac, I'm surprised that you use movie maker to edit your videos, I tought that you were using a Super-High-Tech-Video-Editing Software.
hey drac how do you love a comment

Gee, I wonder why. Maybe it's because you're one of a very few people who actually own a Nemesis?
Stryfe is the Life

Top 5 specialty slash shotgun class blasters
I wasn't expecting my primaries (hyperfire and sledgefire) to be on this list but I will say I agreed with you more than I thought I will.
You have enough blasters. Now go buy a microphone. please.
He also looks like a caveman
Why this comment section so dank
He needs mmmmmoooooooooorrrrrrrrr blasters. There is no such thing as enough blasters.
Its not the mic, its the soundwaves reflecting off the walls.
Like an echochamber
I use a non select fire modded rapidstrike
I just use trigger discipline
Short controlled bursts
The thumbnail is a tad misleading. I was looking for top 5 primaires not primaries.
Somos Numero Uno lol
Prime-air-ies
lol I get it
@@tiantian329 Actually it's a typo look at the thumbnail and check the spelling of "Primaries"
My top 6 favorite dart shooting ones( not in order) are
-Hyperfire
-Cross bolt
-Rayven
-Rampage
-Alpha trooper
-Incisor
You spelt "Primaries" wrong in the thumbnail btw...just in case you wanna change it lol
Oisin O'Hanlon in the thumbnail it says primaires, in the title it says primary class
The E A T was my first blaster and is my favorite
Imagine a world without engineers
Nerf wouldn't exist
Baboo Shortz most things wouldn't exist
The inter webs wouldn't exist.
Baboo Shortz nothing would exist and we'd be living like cavemen
We would not know how to make shelter
How else do you think the cavemen built nice houses like ours?
One day Drac will discover the world of wireless lav mics and the audio will sound as good as these videos look.
Damn son,why hate on the Sentinel?
I think that there's a bit of a joke with how there's a cult following about it, and he kind of pokes fun at people for it. To be fair, it's not hard to see why. Top nerf n-strike nerf guns
There a is hot glue gun so this can be a nerf gun and your wasting your time it's just a plastic toy don't cuss
Jireh Productions it's blaster not gun
Drac, quick question. What's your go to primary nowadays? Is it a Rival blaster, or are you still mainlining dart blasters?
It's ok drac I think your funny. Menanemanemamenacing
ゴゴゴ
In California stryfes can be bought at stores that price check for only $10 because Walmart still has there stryfes on sale on there website for $10
Please please please stop doing the side cuts with your face, it's disturbing.
Craig Winn maybe you're disturbing
Alexander Ignasiak I'm not, ask your mother.
'Here's Johnny'
Craig Tucker there shouldn't be an uppercase M when using mother in that way...
KILL1NG yah! If you use something like, my or your or his, it doesn't need to be capitalized
Hey Drac, do you still have that long shot battle rifle? That one is a particularly nostalgic one for me because it's what got me into your channel all those years ago!
I just got the Tri-Strike. Can the Tristrike match the Alpha Trooper in performance and slamfire smoothness/execution?
We need to come up for a replacement word for "cringey" to describe this guy. Get on it!
i sense a hater
Confident? Educated? Genuine? Take your pick pal. :)
Dylan Murphy Handsome? Informed? Helpful? Cute?
Realistic? Entertaining?
Dylan Murphy I know he should be called the new Scarce "Hey what's up guys it's Scarce here". Almost sounds like Drac in this video
Hey Drac could you do a Top 5 Springers?
The blue strife at the end was beautiful
I just realized that the background music is literally my favorite track lol
ha lol
Delta596 black blizzard and gd for life
I semi agree, my favorite track is sphere by creo
How dare you knock the rapidstrike?!?!
12:27 where did you get a strayven?
He made it. It's not manufactured, you have to cut up a Rayven shell and stick it on a Stryfe.
Its A Jolt Reski-
**Gets Punched in The Face**
OMG the Expand-a-Blast on the counter! I guess that was my original "primary" when I was a kid. Must of been 11 years old at the time. Whew, nostalgia rush.
Hold up, forgot I had a Ratchet Blast too. XD
I saw a kid at the swapmeet with an inbox blue longshot holding a magstrike
I picked up a disruptor, retaliator and a kronos blaster. I had gotten them to use as props and planned on moding them, mostly giving them a new paint scheme. My question is can you mod the retaliator and trun it into a pump action blaster.
I wish they made the rival balls a little smaller so you could use the barrel attachments although they would be hard to find
I haz a good setup for the Stryfe (Stock) spectre barrel, rampage stock, modulus hex sight thingy (optional) and the modulus foregrip (the curved one) and some 12-18 round mags
sweet vid drac!
i have yet to own a stryfe but i am aiming to own a couple before they disappeaer. i love my EAT and retaliator. i put worker parts in my retaliator and its a beast xD
Drac you should make a top 5 friday about the Nerf Shotguns
Boomco M6 "sniper pistol" should be on the list. I am not a BoomCo fan at all, but have witnessed their game breaking 'sniping' potential at local wars in the north east. Literally, it seems to have TWICE the effective the range and accuracy as super stock full length (koosh) darts.
New nerf rival player: " describe this gun in to words" *holds up nemesis*
Me: " Noob stomper"
hey drac do you own an N-Strike element? if so can you do a secondaries video and include the element? i personally own an element, stock, it was performing better than all of the elites that i have shot.
My current set of primaries is (in no particular order):
1. EAT w/ Orange Mod Works Stage 2
2. Zeus w/ Rewire and a 9.6v NiMh battery
3. Artemis
4. Dart Zone Magnum w/ Armrest removed
5. Stryfe w/ Rewire and 2 IMRs
My play is based around being able to run and gun. I don't normally carry a secondary but I will carry 2 extra mags when needed.
Semicolon7645 what mags do you use? I only use 12 round mags Because they are small and I only use semi auto
Doctor Meem I normally use 18 round mags.
Semicolon7645 12 rounds are easier to find and more reliable if you're not using full auto, depends if you're doing a full on nerf war or just fighting with your friends
afrodamus I'm talking about stock 1st party mags
afrodamus I can't find a stampede anywhere.
Drac! please stop doing that wierd close up aside commenrts you do. the corny style you've chosen for the top 5 videos is bothering me. And this is coming from one of your biggest fans! :-) You are still the best nerf reviewer!
You should add a longshot stock onto a rotofury that would be fantastic!
"It deals Death. Get it because it's the Death Dealer?"

I can't wait to create a large drum mag for the Nemesis so you can have literally infinite ammo.
i was wondering where you got that hammershot barrel mod looks cool as hell
I still love seeing that Rayven Stinger chilling there, I want to Mod mine but I'm scared to because it would be first Mod and I have a Stryfe chilling next it, I also have no soldering experience what-so-ever, but I would love to have it be ready to put out modded performance consistently
i picked up a longstrike fully working with barrel attachment, darts, and clips for 1 dollar! A guys kid had gone to collage, and gave the dad permission to sell all his stuff. i also got a vulcan for 5 dollars at the same place, and a few other guns.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one to like Creo’s music
I have 3 stryfes even though I'm trying to keep my collection "managed" (one each max) lol
Haha! I wanted the mastadon to be on this list, but I didn't expect it to.
what do you think is ur most used blaster I'm going to guess apais or that red one that I forgot the name of, its the sainguene right
The blue Alpha Trooper cost about 45 bucks in China and the orange one that you're holding is even more expensive... So is hard to get a Alpha Troop for us cuz they cost too much and I can just get a rapid strike with that amount of money...
Drac do a top modified blasters in your collection nic blasters included I want to see if your xplorer blasters are in it
I go oldschool, I've got a modded big bad bow in original colors in all its purple goodness.
on your next stryfe build you should put a time lapse and the regular length video
So is the Alpha Trooper still the "best" elite dart springer Nerf?
Drac , why have all the prices of the new and old blasters jumped? I'm a younger nerdier and have found its harder to get blasters for for good prices nowadays. For example I went on Amazon and Hasbro was selling Elite XD Alpa Troopers for 40 usd.
Zach Myers if you have a Kmart nearby they might still have longshots for cheap
Dracula your mods are awesome when I try to mod it breaks the gun
Would you happen to know of any good rapid strike mods to push up the fire rate without heavy modding. (have seen one were the guy put 8 standard AAs but he had to mod the tray.)
last time I checked on Hasbro's toy store online they still had the stryfe in stock at 19.99.
0:42 the gun on the right of dracs soilder the thing under the black long shot looks a bit like the sulaco from aliens.
At the belair toys r us and target there are always stryfes and rapidstrikes
I like the Vortex Diatron with Nerf Modulus Red Dot Sight
And a full alluminum stock.
I like how he is playing dimension (black blizzard) in the background
Drac when you go to the toyfair you should ask them to bring the Raven back with the longshot front gun as a module or something I'll totally buy that at $50
I'm thinking of getting into nerf drac just for plinking and some fun around. I like flywheels a lot but I can't seem to find any not way over priced stryfes near me, so I was wondering if picking up the doomlands desolator would be a suitable alternative. I also really like the idea of buying a crossbolt and just seeing how crazy I can make it with aftermarket bungees. What would you do if you could only pick one of those two and were budget minded?
A nice nerf gun I would go for that isn’t the stryfe is the rapidstrike
5- stryfe
4- longshot
3-stampede
2- rapidstrike
1- nemesis
you should do what are the best shot guns
BTW in the UK where I live they still sell the blue and white alpha trooper
xXMC NERDXx same... it sucks because it only breaks ranges of 15m and I bought two
Yoooo he’s using Creo - Dimension for the background song! Instant like!!!
in my opinion I would have the same exact list, but I would remove the longshot and move all the guns down one and put the rayven (rayven, not rayvenfire, I have the OG rayven) at #1
Nice set up! like it
I prefer a rampage over a alpha trooper any day but I'm right handed, I think it has a better grip
I have been trying to find a stryfe in Georgia for 2 years. I haven't found one that is isn't online (which is like 40 dollars). Help me where. I love literally like 10 mins away from u Drac where do u get ur retail stryfes?
My primary is Nerf Accustrike Raptorstrike my backup is Cycloneshock and I have a strongarm just in case 😊
Drac, I'm surprised that you didn't use the Echelon, unless you don't have it.
Lol, a Top Five Friday, on a Friday, This shouldn't exist
