Thank you so much, Nelson! I absolutely love your videos and your collection! I’ve been following along for quite some time. I’m hoping to make my way back down to Florida one day very soon. Perhaps for the Krull Smith April Open House. Would love to catch up! Until then, I’m gonna keep it green! :)

I so miss my Greenhouse :( The scent of moist earth, damp wood.. that slight musty smell... You're transported Into another world when you enter a greenhouse.. especially from the Cold outside Weather. Of all the plants shown.. I would pick that Paph. venustum !

Love the coccinea primary hybrid! GREAT color! That paph Monsoon... so glad that you went back to that! Spectacular specimen 😍 and the catatsetum ... to die for 🫣 😍I have the After Dark 'Black Pearl'. When I saw the buds at first, I thought, hey now... After Dark? Sure enough. And the list of amazing orchids goes on and on. That orange Tarantula, perfection! Thank you for yet another great nursery tour!! Saludos from Spain 🫶🏼

A lot of those orchids look like they were repotted since not too many already come in terracotta pots. The bark also looks fresh.
That would definitely save me the headache of transplant shock which I had a hard time with in 2023 which was only my second year of NoID phal orchid care experience.
The ones that went from moss to moss all lost their roots, then the ones from bark to bark, but it wasn't until I soaked the bark with cal-mag that I had success with zero root loss on one mini phal.
I recently repotted two paphs without any problems as well. I heard from multiple sources that they can be repotted at any time of the year even with the flower spike. I've been watering them every four days but I'm worried what will happen when it gets hotter here in CT. There's some coconut husk and small pieces of sphagnum moss in the small bark mix though.

Hi Joe! I’ve had success with Phal transplanting from moss to bark in clear pots. I monitor the roots and when they start to get white, I’ll give them a good watering. Flush the plant until the roots are green. Phals also tend to be lower light orchid plants and need a 10-15 degree cool down to re-bloom. I would consider potting into the clear cups to monitor your roots. I only repot when new roots are starting to be present. It’s safer this way and the plant will naturally grow into the new medium since you know it’s not in its rest period. Good luck to you on the mini phals! :) hope this helps!

@@OrchidsByBryan I found out from a Japanese channel (Seedpot) that when he transfers orchids from moss to bark, he lets the roots dry out for a week before repotting. I think I'm going to try that next time I get one in moss.

I've been wanting to go there for a couple years now, I'll have to reach out to see if I can get a tour! If you're in that area again, Little Brook Orchids in Lancaster, PA is definitely worth a trip. They have thousands of orchids for sale and they have quite the variety. Wade's Orchids in Middleburg, PA is a small greenhouse that Wade runs in his backyard, but he's a great grower with several awarded, specimen plants.
