- Kashgar, also known as Kashi, is an ancient city located in the westernmost part of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is one of the oldest cities in the region and has a rich history dating back thousands of years. The city center is a vibrant and bustling area, characterized by a mix of traditional Uyghur culture and modern influences.
Id Kah Mosque: The tour might begin at the Id Kah Mosque, one of the largest and most important mosques in China. This beautiful mosque was built in the 15th century and serves as the spiritual and cultural heart of Kashgar. It features traditional Islamic architecture and a large square where people gather for prayers and social activities.
Kashgar Old City (Kashi Old Town): From the mosque, you can venture into the nearby Kashgar Old City, a labyrinth of narrow streets and traditional courtyard houses. This ancient part of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a glimpse into the old Silk Road days, with its unique Uyghur architecture and local markets.
Handicraft Street: Leaving the Old City, head to Handicraft Street (Tambur Street) located in the newer part of the city center. Here, you can explore shops and stalls selling traditional Uyghur handicrafts, including colorful textiles, carpets, pottery, and more.
People's Park: For a relaxing break, visit People's Park, a well-maintained public park where locals come to unwind, dance, play music, and socialize. It's a great place to observe local life and experience Uyghur hospitality.
Grand Bazaar (Sunday Bazaar): A trip to Kashgar wouldn't be complete without visiting the Grand Bazaar, also known as the Sunday Bazaar. Held on Sundays, it is one of the largest and most vibrant markets in Central Asia. You can find a wide variety of goods, from spices, fruits, and vegetables to textiles, carpets, and traditional Uyghur clothing.

Here in India, one sees only filth wherever one goes. In contrast, this was so clean and beautiful. Another thing difficult to find in India is clean and healthy old people like the ones you see in this video.
What are the government solutions? Given India rising GDP, there's no reason (from financial perspective) to improve citizens livelihood. Does the national government have 10, 20, 30 years plan?
lovely city
