I loved how you mixed in the London Midlands train woman saying "welcome to this service for Stratford-Upon-Avon". I can half imagine that mix in a club :'D It'd be a very weird club full of train enthusiasts... still, it worked very well! Binge-watching your videos, really enjoying them, it's wonderful that you've chosen to visit places in the UK that just don't get enough attention. Keep it up! Also, for those who complain about building regulations and things... the demolishment of the new house is a perfect example of why they exist! I don't care if you 'own' a property, no-one should have the right to destroy something as historically important as Shakespeare's home! What a blow to our heritage that it is no longer there.

Yes indeed, Daran (I am a Silhillian). I was just trying to help would-be visitors travelling from Birmingham city centre to Stratford-upon-Avon by explaining that there are two possible routes by train, from Snow Hill or Moor Street - one via Solihull (journey time a little over 40 minutes) and one via Shirley (journey time just under an hour). 👍
I used to visit Stratford as a child, we lived nearby, but I don't remember a street that wide . Maybe they had a centre section for market days etc, and now the traffic has gone. The center of Marlborough in Wiltshire ( another beautiful medieval town on the A4) is similar, but they still have a parking division down the centre, but still very wide and long, with town gates at each end.

The canal system you saw in Birmingham and Stratford-upon-Avon spreads across most of the country and the vast majority of it was built by hand! Remember this was before railways were invented and road haulage was still horse & carts.
I’ve just found this! I live in Stratford. My ancestors used to own Shakespeare’s Birthplace before it was handed over to the National Trust. I’ve never been in 😂
I lived there a couple of times in foster care in the early 90's. Both homes were around the corner from each other. Eastfield Close & Westfield Close. 😆
Renata Pereira it truly is. Pershore itself is a heritage protected town and is of great importance as it dates back to 972ad Many of its buildings are now protected. Story is when pershore abbey was first attacked and partly destroyed ( it was huge, much bigger than most cathedrals). The stones were used to help build Westminster abbey. Famous for its pears and plums too. Many plums originated from pershore and the vale.

the original and more beautiful theatre sadly burnt down many years ago, I saw some amazing footage that was upscaled and colourized and I then checked out what it looked like today and sadly then discovered what became of it, a real shame.

I love Stratford, but much of the 'Shakespeare' story is quite possibly a cover for the real pen pusher behind all of those plays and other writings that person being Francis Bacon. I have heard that Bacon's choice of the name Shakespeare was in jest because the real Shakespeare was a penniless pauper who couldn't even write his own name.
Really nicely shot and narrated - but the music is a little out of place. "Here's where Shakespeare's buried" - cue: modern electronic garageband music! How about something more fitting? :)

I wanted to propose to my Wife inside Shakespeare's house, as we are both fans, but she told me she wouldn't like it if i proposed in public and she'd feel embarrassed. So instead, I proposed in her bedroom. She complained that I didn't make it more romantic and propose somewhere nice.

Really nicely shot and narrated - but the music is a little out of place. "Here's where Shakespeare's buried" - cue: modern electronic garageband music! How about something more fitting? :)

I wanted to propose to my Wife inside Shakespeare's house, as we are both fans, but she told me she wouldn't like it if i proposed in public and she'd feel embarrassed. So instead, I proposed in her bedroom. She complained that I didn't make it more romantic and propose somewhere nice.
