  • This magnetic speed multiplier actually works like a magnetic gear. Have you noticed how the discs rotate in reverse with each other? This effect is due to the layer of 10 bolts in the middle of the discs which deforms the magnetic field of the magnets.

      If this were to be commercially implemented the fuel efficiency would be greatly improved, ofc I believe this still needs to be perfected tho.

    Very novel: if the core was bonded and the screws were copper one could hook up a couple of wires and have a home made generator.

      You might be able to transmit more torque before slipping, but you'd need to build things to much better tolerances than shown here to take advantage of it

    As other comments have said, neat gearing analog! If you run it backwards, can you pump the torque up? How much force can it create before it "slips?"

      @@ersanakalar4594 i think it has to do with the magnetic poles repelling eachother. look closely. magnets are intercalated. one south one north so basically while one spins it will continously repell the other to the opposite side hence the spinning.

    very interesting invention
    It's like a big wheel turning a small wheel fast.
    In order for the small magnet to rotate the large magnet quickly, a lot of force is required.

    You could probably creat low voltage if you ran a wire between the bolts I would imagine especially if you had it spinning fast enough you’ve created what’s called a tone ring

    Dont let this fool you. The torque required for this to function (on the yellow disc) is substantial. You’re not getting anything free here lol. Wind would NOT be able to spin the yellow disc. Or vice versa. Both discs are relatively heavy for their size. It would still be far more efficient to have the mechanical portion that spins (for example the blades of a windmill) to be made of extremely light durable materials. It’s surprising how very little weight can wipe out efficiency of any motor.

      you are kind of right but if you grab the yellow disc and give it big blades like a mill and let is spin. wouldnt you be technically creating a generator?.
      now will it work better than modern ones? thats another thing
      people have tried to be efficient energy for a long time. magnets are usefull but weight its their worst enemy.

    Well, we have magnetic clutches, and magnetic pumps, so why not magnetic gears? The only problem is that you would need electromagnets to handle the load. So it wouldn’t really be cheap.
