- Historic State Street Plaza in Downtown Santa Barbara is one of America’s most pedestrian-friendly downtowns, in large part due to the amazing diversity of shopping choices. Our shop-lined streets are a favorite with visitors and locals alike. From Santa Barbara-style specialty shops to national brands, and from regional gallery favorites to indie boutiques, Downtown Santa Barbara offers an authentic shopping experience, whether you are seriously shopping, strolling, or just taking in the scene.
spent 6 years of my life in Sta Barbara. The most beautiful time ever!
22 and i gotta tf out
In 1987 my dad worked for a telephone company and the company transferred him to Santa Barbara for about four months. About twice a month he'd come down to the L.A. area and picked us up and took us back to Santa Barbara and we'd spend a week there. Good times.
I fell in love with that city and moving there is on my bucket list
This is seriously the BEST video of Santa Barbara I've ever seen. You really captured the beautiful essence of the city on the most gorgeous sunny day. Thanks for this.
i guess I am quite randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to watch newly released series online ?
Wow... !!! My best friend, Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Awesome... Full watched. Thanks Have a happy day!
finally a clip with no tacky music - thanks!
Mar Co , yeah, but years prior to this video, I put in tacky music in about 50/50 of the videos. Wish I hadn’t, my royalties all go to the copyright owner.
You are amazing thanks for this nice Video , it brought me to my heart Town.. thanks a lot
I'm from Oxnard, California. An hour down the road from Santa Barbara. Until recently however, I hadn't been to Santa Barbara in years. I'd forgotten how beautiful it is. Amongst the most beautiful, and architecturally unique cities in America.
It has so much beautiful Spanish style architecture. Yet the city also has cultural influences from all over the world. Especially cuisine. Its such a mellow place too.
Mainly Spanish influence. Spaniards were first settlers.
I showed this video to my parents this afternoon. I've lived in England my whole life but hope to spend a few years in Santa Barbara in the future. Such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing it with us! 😊
Its even prettier than this. It will blow your socks off. Wish I could afford to live there too. But California has gone muy loco as of lately....Tax-a-fornia
There are quite a few /British expatriates in Santa Barbara, or at least enough to support about 4 British and one Irish pub.
I lived in Santa Barbara for about a year to learn English, and it has been the best city I've ever lived in. I couldn't skip any second in this video. SB is such a blessed city. The weather, architecture, people, beach, and this beautiful scenery. Hope to go back to SB someday. Thank you for uploading and sharing this beauty :)
Beautiful Santa Bárbara Califórnia
3:30 The Habit Grill! I had lunch at that very table you were sitting on not two weeks ago (July '21). The road is blocked off pedestrians only to allow for social distancing. So lots of people watching!
I went there last month
Now I just can't forget those beautiful scenery
Phúc An có phải là đi du học hè với EF ko bro
I love santa barbara beautiful city
Looking at this in 2020.What a difference 2 years makes just 2 blocks from where I quarantine down...
I swear i had a dream about a place that looks like this same buildings & everything. I thought it was Florida tho. But i was walking down a strip just like this
Was I the only one that caught the one liner from the kids skateboarding?😯😏🤦♀️
Charming city, great video!
Beautiful place 👍🏻 chulada de lugar 👍🏻
Do you know where that peacock doorway is at 4:24? Never seen that before.
It’s the old Macy’s entrance at the Paseo Nuevo.
It's beautiful
Superb video. Absolutely wonderful. This was just what the doctor ordered. I attended college in Santa Barbara and I thoroughly enjoy watching this video when I get nostalgic for the area. I especially appreciate the real background audio. I wish more walking tour videos were like this. Keep it coming. Maybe a video of the Santa Barbara Pier?
David Anastasion thank you David...and you go, the warm walk. th-cam.com/video/XcVqSgwKyPg/w-d-xo.html
@@MichaelJirochVisualArtist Thank you! I'm so excited to watch it! I have a lot of great memories on that pier.
Thank you so much for this video. I grew up there and miss it so much. This was GREAT!
You're so welcome!
Good to know, Could you please guide me about the living options for short-term students in Santa Barbara.
Aftab Akram, I’ve no idea, try contacting the University for a better information.
Hear hear. I grew up in Hope Ranch. Moved to the Bay Area for college back in 2008 and now I'm all the way over in Europe. Sometimes I just get nostalgic and that's when I like to youtube my hometown.
Was just there last weekend! Sat in that alcove at state Street coffee shop :-) looks like we've missed quite a bit of it
We stopped at the bridge over 101 then turned back to Stearns wharf.
Interesting (since I have lived in Santa Barbara my whole like). Funny thing: this is only one tiny aspect of the area. Sadly, tourists never see the "real Santa Barbara" and are confined to Cabrillo Blvd., and State Street shops and the wharf. Maybe that's a good thing? I don't know. The deserted beaches, mountain trails, natural hot springs, where the Hollywood-types hang out, well, I could go on-and-on. Somehow, the natives should take visitors under their wing and show them the REAL deal. But then, AirBNB is illegal in Santa Barbara ... DAMN! Well, you could stay at the new Miramar hotel for $800 per night. Yeah, just drive up for the day.
I think it's a good thing they don't run loose in the city. I prefer that we keep them zoned in down there lol. They come to sitesee and I can go down and people watch.
@@lacitysun Me too! Ain't it GREAT?
Lived in Sb all my life.
You are lucky.
Woah we got the same name 😂
Beautiful 🤗🇺🇸
Deceo que todo vuelva ala normalidad 😔
I would love to live there.

Used to live there . Thank u for the video . Would be nice if it was more affordable to live there . So much better then the valley
Kayla Ray , you’re very welcome.
Where's Abby?
Muito lindo esse lugar.
Thank you
the guy that plays the drum next to where Tonic Used to be lol
wow, very nice. Thanks. Is this city similar to Palm Springs?
happinesstappy ....in a sense, yes. Both are loaded to with tourist, and millionaires second homes. Both are beautiful. The big difference is ocean vs. desert. The desert, of course has more sunshine, and Santa Barbara has coastal weather...with fog and overcast skies.
I live close by there
Juliana Espinoza I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you live in Goleta or Oxnard
I wished there was a sports team their
There’s no sports team??
my little secret beauty no theirs no sports team in Santa Barbara I’m talking about professional
Uploaded on my birthday! I may be going here this year
Quero conhecer Santa Bárbara Califórnia parece lindo demais este lugar
So many, SO many beautiful places in this country. When people say one has to leave the USA to see real beautiful places, they are dumb. I mean, this is California, so most coastal states are going to have more to offer, but one can go to, say, Iowa, and there is much beauty there, too (and I don't mean the flat fields). I love Santa Barbara.
beautiful places are found all over the world.
@@db1566 Some people like you are born inherently miserable.
@@db1566 Doesn't even interest me. Please stay there. You couldn't pay me to leave my life ocean view home in Palos Verde Estates. Nice try any way.
@@db1566 wa wa wa
Cool 😎
@Michael Jiroch Thank you for sharing since I was Both Born and Raised in Santa Barbara and since moved away in 06. I can still some things that look the same and some that have changed. I Miss My Home Town and wish I could move back and I would in a heartbeat if I could afford it.
perpetual61 You’re so very welcome.
Love the USA
We love you too! ♥️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Oh, please, I feel so bad ending up here, I wish I lived in Europe.

Looks like little Spain.

Before covid 19. Life was simple then.
no mask and no social distancing
❤️
I’m a local
I haven't been back since the ups. State St. Looks too commercialized! Like a big tourist trap. Too bad!

Stunning, really stunning, but the party buses really ruin the ambience.
The party bus is a horrible rip off. NEVER go on that thing. It is ONLY an advertisement for the businesses they promote. They drive by the businesses and PROMOTE them. "Pay to play!" (I live here and hate that stupid thing, because it's, as I say, BORING ... and a rip-off. Just walk around and talk to the locals. (don't eat at the "Breakwater Cafe" or "Moby Dick." Nasty food, bad coffee ... you're better off at Sambos! Seriously! (the "Fish House" looks expensive ... but is reasonable and the food is excellent.) I could write a book!

Cant believe they made Santa Barbara from TLOU2 a real place
Yeah it's a real place in The Last of Us Part II 🔥🔥🔥
Now downtown smells like urine and there are tents all over the place and Saks, Nordstrom, Sur la Table, Macys all left downtown and there are over 13 empty city stores and businesses in one and 1/2 blocks that have shut down.....
lol night time TOTALLY DIFFERENT...
@Muhammad Ginungagap Not really much of a difference at night
He’s talks too much
It looks dead
Wow. Harry gave it all up for THIS!? He’s going to be so miserable.
Tamara Spink ...why? Did he buy a home in Santa Barbara? I thought he bought in Malibu/Palisades area?
Michael Jiroch All reports today say Santa Barbara. I’m sure the area is lovely, it’s just such a massive change for him. I’m reading that its the sort of place people retire to? The whole situation is a terrible mess...
Tamara Spink ...I think, and stress “I think’, meaning no one else thinks this. I think he just didn’t want to be a Royal anymore. I don’t think he wanted to be in the limelight anymore. I think she wants fame at any cost. And eventually, there will be a struggle of differences between the two. And how it ends is anyone’s guess.
Michael Jiroch I totally agree. He’s entranced by her and she presses all his buttons - His vulnerability and mental health issues. She’s re-mothering him. He wanted to step back, she helped him. But he also loves his country, the military (where he was his happiest) and his family. He’s lost it all. He was loved here; ever since his mother was killed and he walked behind her coffin, he’s been in the nation’s heart. He was our boy. So the hurt is very deep here. Meghan seems to create difficulties wherever she goes. Family, friends, work, relationships...I cannot see Harry happy there long-term unless he makes some non-celebrity friends and starts doing some down to earth work. He’s happiest with ordinary folk. But now they need $$$ to pay that mortgage. And neither of them have much to offer, in honesty!
Tamara Spink , yes, you nailed it.
He’s is a lesbian
Lots of empty storefronts there.
Erik Griswold too high a rent
Thank you
