Stone walls are actually realistic in this game now. Only siege weapons will bring them down. I always found it stupid that a sword or arrow would break a stone wall.
i remember playing age of empires 3 with my dad, and it was always one of my fav memories with him, him teaching me how to play, telling me strategies, but eventually, i just drifted away from the game, maybe because i got a new pc and i didint have age of empires on it, maybe because my dad moved out and i only got to visit him during the weekends and he didint have much time to play with me, or maybe because i got bored of the game, i was always afraid of a challenge, so i always played on the easiest difficulty. all i remember is charging in with cavalry and destroying villages, that was fun

I personally enjoy the game. Started playing the campaign and it is entertaining. Is it worth $60, well I paid it. I'm glad they are keeping this series alive. Wish they would remake Close Combat and other old Microsoft PC games.
If you never had xbox gamepass, you can buy it for a month for 1$ now(pc aswell), it includes this game and many others( battlefields, sea of thieves, forza, fifa and lot more)

I was expecting aoe4 to be more like a mixture of Napoleon total war fighting and AOE 3 that goes from colonial to civil war or possibly ww1 era as the top age. I'm kinda disappointed AOE4 is just a mix of AOE2 mechanics and AOE3 graphics....
What series of AoE 4 you have played , i seen if you can build until a thousands man of soldier in this game , but when i play this game i can't have a much warrior , it's 200 maximum population only
My honest opinion no. I'm a very big fan of age of empires but there's nothing really new or spectacular about it other than it's fun. This New age of empire falls in the same line as all the other age of empire games. I would wait for a sale. By that time they would have updates and DLC out
I do not think it worth this price. It has great graphics, but points such construction/battle effects and 200 max population limit contributes to not be the greater among great AOE titles.
I'm not a fan of the weird scaling; I don't like games like Rise of Nations because of it. How resources and units are not proportional to buildings and the environment just kills the immersion for me.
I'm waiting for the Roster to become bigger and probably some other bugs that are there i am sure to be fixed before getting this game. I'm a fan of aoe since 97 and played every aoe game including aoe2 de

It's literally AoE 2 with some improved elements (graphics, how walls work, terrain impact and a few others). What you think is better about it is your nostalgic feelings of "better times". Unless you give us some real reasons why is it better
