List of things this video missed (or totally just left out on purpose to cut it down to 3 minutes 😛): • Selecting an animation (for skills/play animation/etc) shows a preview window for the animation you're selecting • "Show Balloon Icon" has preview for the balloon icon in question. • If you edit the JSON files outside of the editor, upon returning MZ will ask if you'd like to reload the changes. • The Plugin Manager now has an error window. It will show a message if using plugins out of defined order, or using a plugin that is not specifically targeted for MZ. • "Insert Color Index" and "Insert Icon Index" added to context menus for text inputs that can use text codes (such as: "Show Text", "Show Choices", "Show Scrolling Text", etc.). They provide dialogs allow users to select a color/icon, and will automatically inject the correlating index into the input. Let me know if there's anything else that's been missed. ~

I miss your over-excited tone and gibbering titles and names which didn't make sense in the MV tutorial, but hey this is a great MZ intro!! Thanks for a quick update.
Everything I learned on how to use RPG maker is from SRDude, I'm actually so hyped he's "back?" I hope he is. I needed this comparison honestly, and I think I might wait till MZ is on a big sale. I can live with just MV at the moment. I hope your alright man, glad to hear from you.
Thanks for the review SRDude. As usual Kadokawa is listening to it's customers and providing some high-quality products lol. Sarcasm aside, I don't know what language they used to code this is, but, they better release some good plugins soon or else nobodys gonna care. It needs to be at where MV left off. POINT BLANK.
Is there some sort of dlc or plugin for mv involving the item categories? I'd like to be able to use the check box system that mz has or at least be able to remove certain categories from the game I'm playing. I mean I COULD remove the Item option from the pause menu, but I need it in order to access certain pickup items for thr player to use
I honestly still can't get MV to work. I just wanna playtest and check the options and I still can't get a straight answer as to why these buttons don't work
The fact that you can summarize all the "new" stuff in MZ in 3 minutes when it's supposed to be the new version of the engine is beyond sad. How is it 2020 and they still haven't updated the engine to use more than 1 core and properly use the GPU? How can they announce the "4 layers" as a new feature when they themselves removed them, even when everyone loved layers in XP and missed them in VX? This is at most, a $5 update. The worst part of it all, it's been the longest time between new versions and this is all they did.
That's something you can say to whole RM franchise, not just MZ, or MV, or VX Ace, or... anything. RM is one of the most stagnant program series ever known to me.
Then they couldn't charge you more and make more. It's an outdated practice honestly, and they should just do something with RPG Maker that many other main line software does.. I think unreal doesn't make you pay anything until you basically make money off of a game. For RPG maker.. i think a 4 dollar monthly fee maybe would be better.. and they could just keep developing the software.
@@Real_The_Goof I would pay a monthly fee of 5€ gladly if it meant the engine received solid updates. This system of releasing carbon copies of the last engine for 60€ (or more) is awful.
It's been a long time so i dont remember my exact problem, it seems like it involved either telling things to move towards an object, there was only option to move towards a specific x y or move towards player. Is there a way to make it move towards another object / event?

gotta admit, that little "subscribe" at the end got me. XD
I love you , glad to see you back .
I miss your over-excited tone and gibbering titles and names which didn't make sense in the MV tutorial, but hey this is a great MZ intro!! Thanks for a quick update.
The Plugin Commands selection changes EVERYTHING
Everything I learned on how to use RPG maker is from SRDude, I'm actually so hyped he's "back?" I hope he is. I needed this comparison honestly, and I think I might wait till MZ is on a big sale. I can live with just MV at the moment. I hope your alright man, glad to hear from you.
Cheers for the nice informative video dood.

Glad to see you're back!😀 I thought your channel died.
I just wanna playtest and check the options and I still can't get a straight answer as to why these buttons don't work
This honestly pisses me off that it wasn't just added to MV... instead they had to get greedy and make you pay for a new engine....
Hi SRD!
Good to see a video of you again.
Do you intend to port your MV era plugins to MZ or are you out of the scene?
A big hug! o/
The worst part of it all, it's been the longest time between new versions and this is all they did.
there are people who might not have liked MV but like this
That's something you can say to whole RM franchise, not just MZ, or MV, or VX Ace, or... anything.
RM is one of the most stagnant program series ever known to me.
Why only 1 core and no proper gpu support..
Because... Html5
My man is back. Today is a good day.
MZ = MV + some built-in YanFly plugins
also, welcome back dude :DD
Welcome Back Dude!
I'm sure literally everybody who uses RPG maker feels this way, but why not just constantly update MV instead of making a new engine?
Then they couldn't charge you more and make more.
It's an outdated practice honestly, and they should just do something with RPG Maker that many other main line software does..
I think unreal doesn't make you pay anything until you basically make money off of a game.
For RPG maker.. i think a 4 dollar monthly fee maybe would be better.. and they could just keep developing the software.
@@Real_The_Goof I would pay a monthly fee of 5€ gladly if it meant the engine received solid updates.
This system of releasing carbon copies of the last engine for 60€ (or more) is awful.

Don't give them ideas...
Because they need money?
Money
What?! RPG Maker MZ?! Awesome 💜🤩💜
Nice to see you are back, always thought you were a cool dude, not sure if you remember me but I sent you a picture of my cat one time on Twitter
When can we get a RPG maker that's isometric? :((
thanks for showing sign of life.
will your plugins still work with RMMZ? @SRDude?
From MV to MZ no plugins work directly unfortunately.
It's been a long time so i dont remember my exact problem, it seems like it involved either telling things to move towards an object, there was only option to move towards a specific x y or move towards player. Is there a way to make it move towards another object / event?
welcome back and thanks for the video :)
