    That was really enjoyable: these "unexceptional" cars are more appealing to me than "supercars". That said, the Jaguar XJS at 27:00 would be nice for cruising down to Cannes.
    I like almost all of them and they are a credit to their owners.

    A great start to the first part of the FOTU, the Visa that got pushed in beleive had a issue with the clutch or alternator and came from Scotland.
    I cannot beleive the winning car of the day was a forbidden fuel but as you say rules are rules.
    The green alfa 145 with the boxer engine was orginally registered in Edinburgh and would have initially been supllied by Arnold Clark of Gorgie Road.
    Good to see Mr Parr, i was orginally hoping to attend this year but plans changed so i ended up selling my ticket to someone for a donation to the Mental Health Charity Andys Man Club.

      Sir, rules are rules! The Visa was indeed pushed in, and the Toledo sadly had to go home as well due to clutch issues. We cannot discuss the winner, and so it will not be announced on the channel. Mr Parr and Mr Monks were both there, and Mr Monks made the thumbnail! I hope your friend enjoyed the show.

      I think that I missed a few, sir, but I probably got 95% of them. It took me about six hours in total.

    Pure nostalgia!!
    Not one but two beige Ladas, early 1200 Estate ( highly practical) and very late 1.5E Catalyst ( misunderstood and amazing value), I almost bought a 1997 one for £2,500 in 1999.
    Awesome white Clio with steel wheels and hubcaps.
    That 1978 Cortina is worth a drive Sir.
    A 1.8 or 2.0 litre Mercedes Benz 190E is a surprisingly capable Daily Driver.
    In 1991 the Peugeot 106 was a very well built and very refined little car, loved mine.
    A Ford Ka with no rust is something to treasure and should be very easy to look after.
    Fiesta Not Much Bonus.
    The Mk4 Escort and Mk3 Orion are Starting to feel collectable.
    Apple Jack MiniMetro, amazing.
    The Visa had the Suitcase Engine and the 652 cc Flat Twin.

      Sir, we aim to please as always! The 190Es are quite slow with the four cylinder engines, as I found out when I drove this very car in 2021. The Lada quotient was surprisingly high in the Concours De L' Ordinaire this year, considering how rare they are. Yes, good old Suitcase engine from the Peugeot 104 in the Visa, of course.

      Not a problem, I think it’s rarity is due to it being one of the first uses of a CVT in a production car and thus not very reliable, mines still going strong tho

      Yes, I think that the first steel belt CVTs were the Fiesta Mark II and Fiat Uno from memory. Thank you again for watching, there will be eight more parts to come.

      Yes, the Voyager was badged as a Lancia in Continental Europe for a few years.

    Looks like a lot of fun, you sound overjoyed with it, sir! A shame it's so expensive or I would have taken a car there. Rustival beckons instead.
    Lancia Zeta is beyond delicious. It reminds me that Ford Zetecs were originally called Zetas and then Fiat/Lancia put a stop to it or something. Looking forward to the next parts!

      Yes, the very early Zetec-R engines were badged as Zeta, but Fiat got a bit annoyed about it, as they have owned Lancia since about 1969, and the vast majority of their models still use letters of the Greek Alphabet. Makes me wonder how Opel was Vauxhall got away with the Omega! We film everything (with some exceptions) so you don't have to go, sir.

    Im the owner of the Silver 106 in Concours! Youd be correct saying that it is a 1.1L TU1 engine, and that its also pretty low specification in the scheme of things!

      Yes, there were a lot more features available in other models, that is for certain. I passed my test in an early 1.1 Saxo, so I am very familiar with the TU1 engine. They aren't the fastest cars, but they do handle quite well.

      Yes, I drove a 1.1 Saxo about five years ago, which brought back a lot of memories. You do need to rev them quite hard, though!
