I've neve seen this video before, great stuff but I did see Kyuss on this tour in I wanna say August 1995, same lineup, same light show. It was at the Empty Bottle in Chicago on a Wednesday night with maybe 100 people there but it was fucking awesome. They kicked my ass big time.
Yeah sorry, not all of us were there in 1995 so I'm fairly grateful that I got a chance to see 3/4ths of Kyuss play live in person and play a lot of my favorite songs. Why does everyone have to be so pretentious about it?
Why would i care about who was where at what time ? My point is simply that Reeder is an amazing and unique bassplayer, and Nick isn't. I like his work, i love the first Mondo LP, but he simply isnt anything near Reeder when it is about playing the instrument. This is music, isn't it ?
@Micaelas No, you didn't. Kyuss broke up in 1995. The band you saw features only one person playing in this video. I think it's a pain to listen to Kyuss Lives! ... sounds nothing like the late Kyuss did sound... how could it, there is no Hernandez, no Reeder and no Homme.
@Kyussist Agree totally. Almost didn't see them until I found out Reeder was playing (Toronto). Great show and I had a great time but without Scott, it would have been lacking some much needed "authenticity" if you will. Thanks for posting all you do Kyussist, this is some rare shit indeed
@Kyussist Kyuss Lives has 3/4 of the Blues for the Red Sun lineup, which was their best album. Also, the guy they replaced Josh with is getting progressively better. Plus, they occasionally bring out Scott Reeder, and even Mario Lalli once.
@Micaelas Yep, sorry if i sounded angry... i just don't want that cover band to be called Kyuss. To me the special thing about Kyuss is the dynamic and the character of their ensemble play, and especially Scott Reeder and Joshua Homme are instrumentalists which aren't replacable. Oliveri's plektron can't replace Scott's fingers and honestly, when Bruno plays Josh's riffs its not Kyuss. There is nothing wrong about it all, just the essence of Kyuss isn't there... imo.
@bgong09 Oh, i ve heard their tunes being played live, by different line-ups. And i enjoy my good old kyuss dvd's more. Anyway, amen, i dig the attempt behind what you say.
I partly agree. Josh Hommes' guitar work is unmatchable. Bruno is good but doesn't quite have the natural flow that Josh had. But Brant and Nick were is kyuss from the very beginning. Brant all the way up until Circus. So id consider Brant part of the original lineup. Also i love how he plays, so much charisma. Nick was only up till Sky Valley so... i don't know. He played on what on consider one of the big two. Consisting of Blues for the Red Sun and Sky Valley. I think that makes him good.
@Kyussist well i suppose nick, garcia and brant isn't good enough then? And in fact Reeder has been filling in for Nick recently. Plus Garcia's voice is a million times better than it was
Brant is the original and will always be, but he had/has his own thing going on. Fredo laid the foundation on 'Circus' and to me, that album signalled greater things to come, especially the Catamaran cover. Fredo's drumming style was the future of Kyuss to me.
This should have been an intrumental. John Garcia absolutely ruined their music live. (I've had the audio for this show for awhile, thanks so much for posting the videos :).)
@@startervisionshe only sounded good on Circus and on the final EP, and ironically on the studio version of Whitewater, which was the first time Goss & Homme experimented with burying his vox deep in the mix
Great song, great band-all line ups-period. Kyuss Lives is indeed not Kyuss MR precious Kyussist-it is now 2013 in case you hadn't noticed and we all have moved on-maybe you should too!!! Let the kiddies of today enjoy it for what it is, besides we now have Vista Chino-happy???
@Kyussist if you were lucky, you could see reeder on four gigs with kyuss lives ;) but i agree with you. i saw them this year. not nearly the same without homme and reeder...
@bgong09 That's nothing new, and i totally agree with you.But i personally dont appreciate Kyuss Lives!. It's up to every fan... and thats my state of mind.
Nick is actually a pretty damn good bassist or did you not listen to Blues for the Red Sun ? That being said I agree Reeder is an amazing bassist. I dont think he is that unique. I agree Reeder is a better bassist, but Nick isnt a slouch on the instrument and did great work with Kyuss and QOTSA and was a big part of both so again I think your comment is just pure stupidity.
They made a habit of leaving room for jams without overdoing it in their songs. One of the greatest hard rock bands ever.
psychedelic heavy punk
oh yeah
One of the greatest band ever.
No doubt at all.
Ah, the lovely VHS-Noise at the bottom. :)
One of the heaviest riff drops ever recorded. Ever.
These were the best shows live..caught 3 KYUSS tours in a row.
Lucky bastard
Kyuss is my new favorite. sucks it took me this longto realize.
The longer we are starved of great original bands the more we will realise the perfect gems we had in our pockets all this years. 💍🤘
Alice in Chains used to be mine but I think at this point Kyuss overtook them.

one of my favourite kyuss songs. there is so many fresh air in this
This song is transcendence distlilled into a hot and sweaty groove
Homme absolutely shreds gah damn
Josh makes that guitar look like a junior length
Not sure how Josh got bored of playing this kind of music.
Because he is far more talented and wanted to be a frontman.
@@trendybistromore talented than whom…?
Because Garcia wasn’t a good singer yet. That wouldn’t happen until 1998. Simple as that.
Well, try doing anything for eight years.
He was just evolving as a musician , look at the transition from Kyuss to the early Queens ..
Just saw them in Mexico last week... Lots of weed, lots of headbangig' and loooots of grooving! Best band ever
Mr.Garcia 👏👏👏👏 crack
impressive sound quality... bow down to the man who put this online

i was there
Absolute groove metal
This is most excellent!

EPIC
Kyuss are amazing
you're the real mvp kyussist
Love the outro on this live version
I kinda like some of the vocal stylings in the original whitewater generator party recording.
this is the bomb
EPiC
FN great band hope that get back together
This really makes me feel like i've been f****** born in the wrong time and place.

This will be played at my funeral :)

@Kyussist Completely agree! Dig your channel, loving the Monster Magnet videos, peace

you do realize one can comment and listen at the same time yes? :).

He also made Millionaire and Auto Pilot. Two of the best QOTSA songs and I love both bands.

👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
Vocals are weak here. Bummer
One of the biggest upsets in modern music= Kyuss breakup.
😎
@acidrolo71 Have you found any info? I'd really want to know too.
is this soundboard audio?
Brant Bjork needs to be up in that.. Fredo held on good, but it ain't Kyuss without the bros.
Agree man. Fredo is an amazing drummer, but Brant is Kyuss.
Fredo sounded much better in QOTSA, I can't imagine Brant playing as well as him for the QOTSA songs.
@Gene Bone damn lol
Fredo was a way better drummer tbh
Brant is the original and will always be, but he had/has his own thing going on. Fredo laid the foundation on 'Circus' and to me, that album signalled greater things to come, especially the Catamaran cover. Fredo's drumming style was the future of Kyuss to me.
Wo genau ist das? Das Essen im Pott ? Der landen wäre mal gut zu wissen. Geiles Material 🤘
Ja, das im Pott😀 Zeche Carl, Essen, Germany
@Kyussist Well... at that time I was only 10... So it was nice to see a "cover band" if you will... Relax man
uh yeah the first song is Whitewater not Un sandpipper
Love Josh 💕
@sidewalksurf49 listen to v=7vwKHmQo6c4 ........ it just takes you to honestly love Kyuss to feel the pain....
This should have been an intrumental. John Garcia absolutely ruined their music live. (I've had the audio for this show for awhile, thanks so much for posting the videos :).)
hahahahahahaha damn. He sounded good in Thong Song and Writhe. Josh wrote both of those songs.

It's a lighting effect bro...
I think you need to enjoy more and comment less.
it's over 9000
@Kyussist if you were lucky, you could see reeder on four gigs with kyuss lives ;) but i agree with you. i saw them this year. not nearly the same without homme and reeder...
Ahhh but YOU do care MR Kyussist. Otherwise you wouldn't have gone on and on about it for the last year. Chill out man.
@bgong09 That's nothing new, and i totally agree with you.But i personally dont appreciate Kyuss Lives!. It's up to every fan... and thats my state of mind.
Don't talk about Oliveri replacing Reeder, that's disrespectful. Oliveri played with them in two albums. Reeder was the one who replaced him
+1
Jesus & The Apostles: The Early Days 🤪

I think they needed another smoke machine.
